5 Ways to use Embossing Folders!

Today, I showed you 5 ways to use embossing folders and a few extra ideas as well! These embossing folder techniques are a great way to create beautiful backgrounds for your cards!
I showed you these techniques: Letterpress, Perfect Pearls, Wax Paper, Two-Tone with Embossing Ink and Carved Wood. You can substitute metallic pastes for perfect pearls to get a similar look and don't forget to check out my past video on the Split-Embossing Technique that I shared and talked about at the end of the video.

I had a stamp store about 20 years ago and I named it Embossible Dreams. I ran an ad when I first opened up to attract customers. It said " Embossible! For a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage ! Embossible!!

Very nice! Would love to see more of the year-round backgrounds and I love that they’re larger than most embossing folders. I’m often wanting to make larger cards where I need a larger background with some texture.

Hi Gina * Just watched the replay from Adelaide South Australia 🥰🦘🦘🦘 Absolutely beautiful! My favourites are the blue shiny one with embossing ink, blue cardstock & clear powder. 2nd choice is using waxed paper (the lighter one). I bought a small craft iron in an Op Shop & now, I will use it. I substitute old eyeshadow for Perfect Pearls. Thrifty crafter. 🤣 Thanks again guys! Always fun to watch you interacting with 🤠Tom! As a BRAND newbie at inks and dies, I want to THANK YOU for these techniques! I've been binge watching 5 min cards all day and now am trying these as you are-stop and play, stop and play LOL..I love your techniques and your products look AMAZING! Wipe the card stock with wax paper and when you score it, it slides so much smoother.

All embossing folders are 3d. Calling any embossing folders 2d is just plain wrong. Simple squares and circles are 2d. Anything that comes off the paper at any level is 3d. Some are more detailed or multi level. Did enjoy the crafting very much.

I was anxious to get my Big Shot, but disappointed that we can not get it to work. We tried to follow the directions for using the embossing folders, but it just seems too thick to go thru the machine. What are we doing wrong!? Thanks.

You have to sprits the perfect pearls with water only, the build in resin will make it stick, only with water, no other spray is needed!!! It was made that way

If you’re putting it onto Versamark sticky ink you don’t need to apply water .

The difference between Perfect Pearls and Pearl ex powders is that Perfect pearls contain a bit of Gum Arabic, which allow you to use them as a pearlescent watercolour if you add a little water to a pinch of the powder on a palette, or scrap paper for painting, so yes you could use a light misting of water to seal the perfect pearls, but with pearl ex you would need either a spray fixative, like the ones sold for pastels and chalk, or a light layer of hairspray.

I am having trouble embossing cards with my big shot plus machine I don't know why I followed the instutiions and it just wont come out emnossed also my big shot plus didn't come with an adapeder do I need this i got an embossing floder and tried it it seems to be too high and not pressing down on the folder could this be the problem I followed the instructions on the machine
