I prefer this method. Keep them refreshed as opposed to taking them all out and doing it again.

I like to do my braids this way. It’s already pre-parted, so it makes sense to re-do or refresh a braid at a time instead of taking it all down. Refreshing also helps with keeping them in longer. As long as you refresh every now and then, you can truly keep them in for as long as you want. I think over time I would switch parts (middle to side part, or smaller parts to bigger occasionally)

I started last month. Mini braid anniversary is April 9th. I made my braids almost as small as micros. I wash them between 1-2 weeks. Shampoo , condition, deep condition (15 mins) moisturize and put then in plaits to dry. I just retouch them row by row becusee I dont have time for a full head touch-up. Wish I tried this sooner. Easiest style to maintain. So far Ive had about ONE inch of growth. Might them in all year.

Wow congrats on starting your mini braid journey 👏🏽 The row by row retouch is a smart idea! I wish I tried mini braids sooner as well! They are just so convenient & so healthy for the hair. This is hands down my favorite style! I will probably keep doing them all year too.

You did a good job! I can't do mine so small. I don't have patience to do and undo and do it again after a month. But I'm doing the challenge with medium braids 😅

Ouuu a dental pic? I may have to try that! The aloe ,coconut water and the conditioner sound like the perfect mix to take the braids out, thank you!

Isn’t the challenge to keep the braids in without redoing them?

I personally wouldn’t keep them in that long, my hair would start to lock.

Who would keep in the same brwids for 6 months?

No. The hair will definitely start to lock. Most people eho do this challenge (a year etc etc), so do the braids every 2 - 3 months. The point of the challenge is to do onky that hairstyle doesn’t mean you can't taje it down and re do that dame hairstyle.
