I’ll never forget when my neighbor bought one of these. I was 6 and I instantly fell in love with it and would sit on the street just staring at it. He ended up taking me for a drive in it and bought me a toy model of one for Xmas.
@@Bloodreign137 Most Lamborghinis have a horrible rear view mirror view, so the way people can see is opening the door and sticking their head out to properly see. The shifter knob also acting as a handle for you to stay in place is a genius feature
@@Yamizo_Kito gotcha! It would be hilarious to see someone in a super car leaning out of the side of their car to back up although I get it as I’m sure the view out the back is non existent. I guess turning it gives you a slightly wider surface to hold onto?
Another Fun Fact - the headlights on the Diablo are from the Nissan 300ZX. Lamborghini installed a horizontal cover on the top of the headlights to block the Nissan logo
Now this is wild… but I remember seeing that in some modern ones the turn signal lights (on the fenders) were sourced from a Ford Fiesta, so I’m not surprised.
The word you were looking for was 'normal' not 'logical'. That being said... wow crazy how it's almost like a Lambo Diablo SV isn't a normal car. Strange. Dunno if you had your eyes open when you watched the video but as you can see (with your eyes open) there's a gearbox where the handbrake would usually be located.
Despite the fact it's freakin' hard to find information about a 5000 Quattro Turbo, it's very interesting to hear them sharing parts 11 years before Audi took over Lamborghini
Yeah and the "facts" are actual real things you can see unlike most voiceover garbage that just spout made up hogwash. Good job. Also what is the carbon wiper thing? An ice smasher? It may be $1000 bit I doubt it will ever break.
A kill switch added from factory? Now that's just lovely. I love kill switchs on retro/vintage sportcars, it's a simple yet cool feature that adds itself nicely to these old cars which are almost deprived of any kind of comfort all for the sake of performance while still keeping a small fancy touch. And it's also a nice little antitheft device which can be quite effective when placed in a hidden spot.

Me too-this and the Lamborghini Countach were the hypercars of the day. Funny thing is, they had 0 to 60 times in 5 to 6 second range, performance that is matched nowadays by run of the mill family sedans, and beaten hard by pretty much any non-hyper sports car. Same with cornering and braking performance. I remember that the Countach was the first car tested by Road & Track that reached 1.0g on the skid pad cornering test. Thats pretty average performance now. Engine, suspension, brakes, and tires have improved dramatically in 40 years, plus efficiency and reliability are much higher. Back then if you owned a Lambo you also needed a mechanic on speed dial-if only speed dial existed.
The Diablo is definitely my favourite Lambo,it looks so aggressive and apparently it's handful to drive like a Lamborghini should be, I want one please!😢
Lots of manual cars have some extra step with the shifter to get it into reverse. In many you push the stick down, and that allows it to slide into the reserve gear. Some you lift up. And others you turn as in this example.
Shout out to my Mini which has none of that and will allow you to go into reverse instead of 1st extremely easily. To be fair, you’ve got to put some force into pushing it far left but I’ve defo done both…
I remember when I first came across this car, it was during the Forza Horizon 2 days and I fell in love with it when I bought it. It’s been one of my favourites ever since
The Porsche 944 has the emergency brake on the same side except they were even smarter. They just made it tight so you only have to click it up a couple notches and it doesn't block you getting in or out
real old volvo 140 series had them on same place. think saab had them there also on some 99 series, and also the early saab 99 had hand brake on front wheels... good luck make a nice slide with that.
Same thing in the 968 (who was originally meant to be the 944 S3), I can tell you that you forget that handbrake on, and with the torque of the engine, you barely notice...
My 91 Nissan 200sx was like that too.... But that's because the entire handbrake system was just very fucked This car was so sketchy at one point in time, still kinda is but it's getting better
I fell in love with the Lamborghini Diablo SV when I first played Need For Speed Hot Pursuit on the very first Playstation. That's also when I was introduced to the Lamborghini Countach.
This is the first "bet you didn't know" video where i actually did know all the quirks. Ive been obsessed with these since Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit.
This car in orange and without the spoiler, incredible work of art. Just like the Lamborghini Gallardo from 2006 in yellow. My fav childhood cars from Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 😍
I heard that for the 98 model year the floor of the door was widened so you could sit on it and look behind you while reversing due to low visibility from that wing
@@nikostheater it doesn't cost a thousand because it's carbon fiber, it costs a thousand because it's for a lamborghini, you can get a full carbon fiber body kit for pretty much any car for a thousand. Carbon fiber is pricy but not a thousand dollars for a tiny little piece pricy.
80’s corvettes have the same style of handbrake on the same side of the car. It’s a little odd, but the way it functions makes sense for the location of it
I believe the C4 Corvette did a similar thing with the hand brake (letting it go down even when it's engaged so it doesn't hit your leg getting in/out).
The Lamborghini Diablo has a cruising range of around 80 miles on single tank of 93 Octane. It's the ONLY car I've ever driven where you can watch the gas-needle move at IDLE.

Something some people don't or didn't know is the 1999 Diablo SV has fixed headlights which are the same ones made by Nissan and are used in the Nissan 300Z (Z32).
I didn’t know id have to twist it but having a safety for the reverse is normal. On my moms audi a2 you press the entire handle down before being able to go into reverse. On the cars i drove in driving school there as a button on the side of the handle you’d have to push
This is by far one of my favorite cars of all time. Specifically the 1995 Lamborghini Diablo. I used to have a poster of one on my wall, and I even had a few model cars of this car! I wish to own one someday!⁴⁸⁴¾⁴
and the headlights (not in the pop up version ) were from a nissan 300zx because they didnt want to get into all the R and D because it was really hard to design them back then so they bought the headlights from nissan, if you remove the carbon fiber piece from the headlight it will say nissan
Another fun fact the Diablo had major electrical problems especially with the ecu but still a cool looking lambo even when I was a kid in the 90s I thought it was dope
Another thing you didn’t know about the Diablo. On the fixed headlight version, they use headlights from the Nissan 300ZX, and use a $500 piece of plastic to coverup the part that still clearly says NISSAN molded into the headlight
Every car should have a handbrake like that, that way you'll never forget to put it on, or you'll never feel you forgot and have to come back to double check.
You taught Us 5 Things we don't know about Lamborghini Diablo! Here not Owning and Never seen One in Real Life!! What am I doing here?! Where's HONDA?!
Literally thought the handbrakes were broken every time i got in a car with a outer seat handbrake, did not have a clue it was an actual design feature 😂
I live near Monaco. A Lamborghini enthousiast use to drive thru the "grande corniche" an go into turning road for fun. The guy respect the speed limitation. But he use to do it at 4 a.m., and the low speed is fucking loud. Specialy with the old Lamborghini. 😊😂
