@@jodeedunkel4477 the scalp brush will help with circulation going to the scalp. With the extra circulation going to the scalp it might help with keeping the hair you have. Just be super gentle with your scalp

My weird hair thing is that i track how many uses i get out of each hair product then calculate how much my shower routine is. Its $10-16 a shower!!! You should do this as video 😂

Look girl your curls look GOOODT! so any weird thing you do is worth it! 👌🏾 My weird tip: After I rinse out my conditioner I put my hair into a shower cap, and wash the product residue off my back. keep the cap on after the shower so that You can lotion without water dripping on the back. And my curls stay wet for styling. 😊

One suggestion... for those who do not like washing their hair in sinks.. If you have a shower 🚿 with a hose just stand with your head down and wash away the conditioner.... and after you rinse it out completely and thoroughly you can step out and wrap your hair with a towel. Simple and you do not need to worry about the conditioner going on the back of your skin. ✌🏽

Water doesn't easily reach my scalp with head upside down, and my shampoo / after shampoo wasn't completely washed away so my scalp was greasy and i lost volume at the top of my head, so i got back to wash my hair in the shower,

This is why I love your channel, you remind us that THIS technique works for YOUR hair... it might not work for our hair... does this mean that our hair is not textured? No! But you teach us what to look for to know what will work for us. Also travel samples are KEY!

My crazy hair thing is…I scrunch when my hair is 3/4 of the way dry! 🤷🏻‍♀️ If I wait till it all the way dry it’s flat and the curls look crappy! I know it goes against everything all of the curly girls on RU-vid say. But it works for me and doesn’t get frizzy at all! My hair likes it that way!

For all you wavies out there, it's actually a really good idea to rinse away the conditioner with your head upside down and SCRUNCH AWAY. Seriously, scrunching my hair upside down makes a whole lot of difference for me. My waves start forming ringlets, it's such a beauty! Lol. I don't do it in the sink, though, just in the shower lol

I've been doing the exact opposite of what you do. Since I don't have a lot of time and my hair needs a lot of hair masks/ conditioning, I usually wash my hair in the sink, so I can carefully and thoroughly apply my mask and detangle my hair, and after letting it sit, I proceed to the shower. And since I rince my hair last so I don't mess with it. And yes thank you, it probably explains the mess going one on my upper back skin for a few months now. Thank you for showing me the light! 💡❤️

We were just discussing this on a curly hair group I'm a member of: after washing my hands (following a visit to the toilet), instead of drying my hands under the hand dryer or using a towel, etc, I just use the water on my fingers to do a mini wet refresh. Don't judge me! I waste less water and still dry my hands this way.

I've always done the same thing with moving my hair when I sit or lay down. I even carefully lift my hair up while putting shirts on or taking them off - I hate the feeling of my hair getting squeezed & scraped by the neck hole 😂 My family & my 2 exes always made fun of me, mocking me saying "I'm Jenn, don't mess up my hair!" (Ya know, in THAT voice) But they don't have curly hair & they have the luxury of either really short hair or straight hair that a quick brushing can fix when things go wrong 😤

I've been using hair sunscreen when I'm going to be outside ever since you mentioned it last summer - I'm CONVINCED that's a BIG reason my hair stopped shedding so badly! (the other is finding out my scalp is sensitive to most synthetic fragrances 👍) It's for sure helped stop the damage that I couldn't ever figure out where it was coming from!! Thanks Mell 💜💜💜

Love you and all your ‘weird’ tips. NOT weird at all and oh so necessary for good curl care. I wake and DO NOT remove the bonnet, stays on in shower 🚿 and yes does exactly what you described. With a three month and three year old I will give the sink rinse a try. Usually right after my shower they are ready for some attention. So leaving my products in to wait and rinse/style may work perfectly for me. Thanks Mel!

I use baby powder instead of dry shampoo. It works better and doesn’t leave that gross product feel on my hair. When that doesn’t work, I’ve been known to wash just my bangs (which is usually the most oily part) in the sink. This one is more of a sensory thing instead of a hair thing. I put my hair up at work when I need to really concentrate.

Omg! I’m learning so much from your vids! Definitely changed to doing the bonnet in the shower and it’s such a better option. I’ve only just discovered using a scalp brush. Today was my wash day and I did all the things, pre mask, scalp cleanser, poo and conditioning, post mask, leave in, and stying.. last week I didn’t define with my denman but went free range and the diff is amazing.. Great volume over the days but lots of tangles on wash day.. thanks for the tips Mel! I’m today years old and excited to get my curls in shape.. if only I knew this stuff 20 years ago.. lol

I do the rinsing in the sink plus I treat my hair the same when I drive or sit back. When my kids pull on my hair and I'm say stop. I worked so hard on my hair too and don't mess it up please. Love to you Mell 😘

OMG! I was *just* thinking about the car head rest thing! The past few weeks, I have been lamenting the fact that nobody makes satin car head rest covers. This thing is truly ruining the back of my hair style all the time! I ordered a satin scarf to tie around the head rest. It should be getting here tomorrow. I never thought about a bonnet. You’re a genius!
