I agree!!! but also hope that he shows the white collar scammers in prague like "Investing companies" that are in some really important buildings and they actually steal thousands of euros from peoples in different fake platforms and inviting them into their offices.
I don't think so... Prague has got a quite bad history with that position. The las guy, who claimed to be one, ended up in parliment as a far right activist, leading neo nazies... (eventhough he is half japaneese...)
Well, the exchange office thing isn't technically a scam. It's just a very unfavorable offer. When you go to a shop, no matter if it's for a food, jacket, gold ring, watch, toilet cleaner, dildo, book...anything, you always check the price before you pay. Why not doing the same when buying a foreign currency? What's wrong with saying: "I have €100, how many Czech Korunas would I get from you?" They couldn't lie because like I said, it's not really a scam but just a terrible deal. They'd tell you exactly how much you'd get for your €100 and then it'd be entirely up to you to either walk away or accept the terrible offer. It's exactly as if there was a restaurant that charged €30 for a pint of beer and you went in, drunk a few and then cried over the bill. Someone who is charging crazy money for something isn't a scammer but a person you want to avoid and never do business with.
@@boutek I am getting your point but: It's scam in Czech Republic because there is law in place protecting exchange office customers. They are breaking this law. Problem with exchange is there is no obvious price. People in general are bad in some mathematical operations. Someone is better, someone is worse but general pattern is "adding" and "subtracting" is easy(ier) but "division" and "multiplication" is pain for the most people. That is exactly problem with exchange rate. Then next aspect is social. The most people refuse admit they are bad in these operations and nod to anybody who type number into calculator and show it to them. I have simple experiment. Pick few products in shop in different packaging (avoid simple sizes like 0.5kg, 1kg but pick some 600g, 725g, 950g etc.) and then stop random people and ask them what is best price/value. This is your reference how these scams works.
@@boutek The scam there was that they did post an exchange rate - but it was not in fact the actual exchange rate, it was just meant to mislead the customers. The actual exchange rate was more out of sight. That is also why this chain of exchange offices kept getting fines and why it eventually lost its license.
@Egg Shaped Israeli Operative meh, it's your opinion i guess. I think they'r still making good movies especially documents like Don't fuck with the cats or The Highwayman
I lived in Prague for a big chunk of my life. I appreciate what you are doing. I can't believe some people fall for these scams. I must say that the Czech police is fantastic but they need a little help from the public in situations like these. I was once scammed by a taxi driver when my family was visiting. I was sitting in the front and filmed him bumping up the price in the meter the whole ride (a very common practice in Prague, unfortunately). I also took a picture of his information and license. When he left I called his company and explained everything. He had to return 10 mins later, give me the money back and apologise. I hope he learnt his lesson.
is it really so unbelievable? one woman said she couldn't read the sign. many of the victims are tourists and immigrants. this combined with the city's lack of information outreach on how their systems work are being exploited by scammers. also czech police are frequently displayed on this channel refusing to act, he even described the gangs as "untouchable by police" in another video. even if they were the best police in the world, police are still police, unreliable if not straight up dangerous.
She probably didn't understand him, but nevertheless, I wonder what kind of person is even able to do this kind of "job" and what do they convince themselves of to remain sane...
Fortunately, the Czech Republic seems to have decent gun access. It may be the American in me, but that girl wouldn't have survived the night if she pulled that shit here.
Sadly the crook could charge them for that. When getting in a fight there are two ways to win. Defeat your opponent like you do, or get the surrounding on your side like the cops and court. As much as it sucks if you can pull off second option you can make them have to pay you a hefty fine.
@@stogie0608 In fact it's simple since they are physical stores many people are not suspicious they think it's a legitimate business but you give them money and they don't give it back or they give you money back but they confuse you and only give you back half of what you gave but since it's in another currency you don't necessarily realize it at the time
@@stogie0608 I think I should also add the fact that tourists in general do not speak the local language so it's easier to confuse them by telling them a little nonsense It is the simple trust that makes this scam work
It would be awesome to see an international expansion of the channel in many major cities around the world in the future! Imagine an honest guide on places like Rome, NY, Berlin, Paris etc..
Well not quitte. Last year I saw an Dutch documentary (he exposes the same type of scams all over the world) about all those pickpockets and such in Barcelona and Madrid. Even to the point that he had an street interview with a cop who said they know exactly who they are but are kinda helpless. Because of the Spanish law they get out on the streets within a day or two. These guys find legal international loopholes (like with the Belarusian money not exceeding more than 200,- euro you saw in the video)
@@Mark-vn7et The Barcelona police were a complete joke. We had passports stolen and we didn't want anything more than a signed form from the cops so that we could get replacements from our embassy... It took 2 days out of our vacation waiting for the lazy pieces of shit to actually do their job. Literally, going from police station to police station until someone would sign a damn form.
Huge thank you to the guys running this channel for the work they do. Scams are a serious problem and, in general, the cops and government really don’t do anything to stop them.
If Europe is having this type of scams everywhere this means society is on its way to break down, democracy ain't working at all. Just look at US and now EU, makes Asian cities look like a heaven.
Batmans of Prague! huge respect to you guys - I have never really wanted to go to Prague because of the insane tourism, but you have made we want to go soon as possible!
This guy is amazing , I was actually planning to move to Prague and settle down there , thanks to his videos I canceled everything , his videos opened my eyes to so many aspects that the media wouldn’t normally do , thanks man, keep up the good work .
Tbf, most cities have their own scams. This guy just happens to document the ones in Prague. Most of the time you just have to keep your wits about you, and you will be fine.
Dude, prague is one of the safest cities in the world. There are some nonviolent scamt commited by mostly foreign nationals in highly tourist areas. But don't let it affect your plans
I have hearing aids so If a scammer approached me and tries to scam me I’ll pretend I a talking into an ear piece but reality I just turn on and off my hearing aids
I'm being honest here, these guys put a lot of effort into their videos and they do it like professionals. They should get a lot more views I know they put lots of effort in. I'm surprised not a couple million people watch you guys. You guys are awesome do what you do best!
Very brave of you and very good of you to protect others. You are indirectly helping the country overall, because if scammers have their way they will create negative experiences for tourists which will eventually diminish visitors.
Mate, you are a straight up legend! The more you expose these vile humans the less evil prevails. People like you restore my faith in humanity! I wish you good health and fortune sir! All the best, your city and country is lucky to have you!
I got caught out by one of these fake money street scammers 3 years ago, not in Prague but in Budapest. We went back every day to look for the dude with no success... He gave us out of date Belarusian rubles still triggers me to this day 😂
Thank you for doing this! The guy crying about his daughter broke my heart. People like this need to go see there maker. Be kind to one another❣ & Always do the right thing
I can’t believe the way she laughed on him while he is crying about his daughter !! 💔💔💔💔💔 Idk how old this video is but maybe we can do something about it guys ?? Honest guys do u know they man ? We can donate to him I hope his daughter is okay but please lets do something
Not trying to excuse her but she probably didn't understood because the guy was speaking i don't know, maybe romanian, bulgarian or something, without the subtitles it sounded like gibberish to me, and im born i czechia, the same think with the old lady probably from russia, as i said im not trying to excuse her but what she saw was not a man in despair because of his daughter but just man who was screeming and doing whatever he was doing
Even if they understood it they wouldnt care, and there is no proof that the girl is actually diing. It could aswell be a last resort lie to get the money back.. people tend to say stuff like that quite often. If its true its devastating.. but if not, the Person is in dire need of the money to say it. Either way he is suffering
I always mention your videos to my folks etc, but because they're not really youtube type people it goes unnoticed. I'm happy to hear there's a Netflix concept in progress, I'll definitely get them to watch along with myself Good luck guys
Thank you so much for your job fot that city. Anyway We're a couple from Spain that we traveled two years ago to your city anfd we were tryed to be scamed by one the exchange office that it appears on your video(the one that is located in the old town ). Its a really pleasure to know that nowadays is closed, if it really is. They try to scam as telling us that the change that we firm for was not the one that it appears on the screen of the window. So we decided to stay inside that shit of local and telling everyone that came inside to evoid to change money inside because they are burglars. Thank you again for your job.Keep doing it.
In some cases they couldn't give a crap, in others like the exchange office scams it is legal and in the very small print. Thats why those scumbags filming and laughing were so brazen, they know there is nothing the police can do.
Wow, you present your tourist content like the perfect son in law in morning tv, but when it comes to scammers you show balls of steel! Absolute legends!
7:21 that's not cool at all.. does the scammer not have a heart? his daughter is dying and she just scammed the guy and she is laughing at him and does not care? I'm disgusted with scammers
the guy is probably overreacting, why would a person with a sick child go on vacation to a foreign country? Treatment would be an option but in that case the person would probably be rich.
you guys are true heroes, exposing the dirty world beneath us for all to see. My only wish is for you to get so big you can take on TRUE corruption. i love you guys
I've seen 20+ of your videos. I have never visited your country and while I appreciate what you do to uncover these scams and expose them it is more than enough for me to remove Prague from my family's vacation itinerary indefinitely. This was the video that did it for me.
i mean the situation is not great , but i wonder how Prague would compare to other cities in Europe . And me as a Czech personaly would never recommend Prague to a person preparing to visit Czech Republic. Countryside has so much to offer when it comes to culture at specific dates of year , and i think the approach of people will be different in a kind way becose they are not used at tourists you have many smaller cities without crowds and scams also filled with achritectual treasures , or nature treasures like Adršpach and Czech Switzerland and thing is Czech Republic is small country and everything is in driving distance of few hours and well connected with public transport too . but it all depends what you want , what holiday you want. please don't judge whole country by all those bad people shown in his videos , you can see it only becose good people are working on it
@@doposud Fair point! Adrspach looks like a cool place to visit with those interesting rock formations and taking a paddle boat on the lake would be nice. Any good places for backpacking or primitive camping in the area you could recommend?
Just a question: how did you get the videos of the scammed which filmed it themselves? I am not saying it was you but it is just interesting where the videos came from
Prague is such a beautiful city, when this pandemic is over, I jump in my car cross the border and visit this city again. Your honest guides will accompany me.
6:47 I like, how the footage is cut in the moment when Janek is going to wipe the spit in the guys shirt. That really got me 😁. Jinak super práce pánové, před vámi smekám. Neměl bych na to dělat vaši práci, lidi jsou někdy fakt strašný svině.

I love how *Minslegend* is a part of everything. These videos are going to be something so memorable and special for the scammed people to look back on. 💗…
Hey, Ive been living in Prague for almost 5 years now. I went to pick up a friend at Florenc station and right next to the entrance of the metro, there are two of these exchange places. So, I went to one of them with my friend that needed some Czech crowns. When we arrived, I saw two boards with a bunch of numbers and I did not know what the exchange rate was (I think they put up these boards on purpose to get you confused) I asked him "what is the rate that is applying today to buy crowns?" to which the guy replied, "What kind of fu%$ question is that?" I was so upset and I didnt know what I had done wrong and I was upset this is the first impression my friend who I picked up was having in her visit to Prague... So, I remembered a few nice Czech words and told him "Do Pic#, ty #$raku" hahaha and we both left.
@@BoboMsubscribe On the one hand, you're right, Prague looks good without tourists. But you only think about yourself, imagine how many businesses will close without tourists? How many people have already lost their jobs because of this and how many more will become unemployed? And also, think about the fact that the Czechs do not spend a lot of money, but foreigners in the Czech Republic spend a lot, and this brings money to the Czechs, can you imagine that?
@@BoboMsubscribe Umm, I know you're probably a kid, but you really need to read something about the advantages of tourism. We need to take care of these scammers and not discourage tourists from coming to our city. That would make no sense at all.
be careful out there. Meddling with criminals recently caught up with me when I got jumped 4v1 by men who probably had knives and maybe even a gun on them so I couldn't even fight back for fear of aggrevating them even more.
Thats why i still carey paper spray, a knife and a box knuckle. You should carry at least 1 with you too, if you can carry a gun even better. These scums don't deserve to breathe air.
@@frostsson Some of the signatures on the paperwork for the Ukrainian guy with no passport who never traveled abroad were very clearly fake (multiple wildly different signatures). That was probably a case of identity theft. But your point still stands, signing paperwork you don't understand is one sure way to get into trouble.
Dobro. Thank high heavens for things going your way. Great job you do, and thank you for it. Sure hope no weirdoes will come after you. Seriously. Stay safe, people like you are needed more than anything. Fighting criminals is a hard hard way to go.
