$0.02027 per mile. Very good! FYI my ICE Jeep V6 Wrangler averages 16.5/mpg multiplied by ~$3.60/Gal = Fuel cost of $2400.00 vs. $223.00 or 1076.23% !!! aka $0.21818 per mile! #Ouch

I can only repeat myself: you are very likeable! It's a shame there aren't more outtakes. And not because I want to laugh at you, but i want laugh with you! Unfortunately, I didn't quite understand what you meant at the end about the charging plugs. Now you don't need any adapters anymore, the Tesla plug is standard for you. Wish you all the best from Switzerland.
@CallasEV
@CallasEV 11 месяцев назад
Yes I should add more outtakes at the end 😀! The NACS transition is just beginning over here and it doesn't look like CCS will be going away for a long time. One important thing that will affect owners with old Tesla cars like mine is that the public NACS standard uses the CCS protocol to communicate. So in the future to charge at public stations, I'll need to have the retrofit even though I'll be using a NACS connector.

Thank you for the update on the M3s! And the MY, too. Checking incentives for EVs is important as you remind us. Fed, state, county, city - and utility! We get a $0.015 credit per kWh from our utility for charging our EVs. Always enjoy your videos. 🙂

I'm at 130,400 miles on my Model 3 Long Range RWD (made in March of 2018). My 12v battery never failed, but I replaced it around 110,000 miles because the car was walking up more often to top it off. On my 5th set of tires, and got credit from Michelin's treadwear warranty on some of those towards new ones.

@Yanquetino
@Yanquetino 11 месяцев назад
Always great to see you, Lorena -and Calla! I can report that after 5.5 years and 74,454 miles, the total cost for my Model 3 is: $68,325.72. The only fuel costs were at Superchargers, as I charge at home from rooftop solar. The battery's capacity has dropped to ~94.35%. I've had the same recalls and repairs as you, but also had to pay to replace my PCS -a hefty expense! I will be spending more soon: 6-month insurance, new tires. I should say, however, that I intend to transition to a different EV and say "¡adiós!" to this Tesla. I wonder if you could guess what I'll be getting (you've reviewed one)…?

@tlf361 11 месяцев назад
@@Yanquetino Oh that's more reassuring... Can I ask, how much have you spent on repairs and maintenance alone (within or outside of warranty)? I'm thinking about purchasing a late-2018 model for $30K, but am worried about pricey repairs and am trying to get as much anecdotal info as possible.
@Yanquetino
@Yanquetino 11 месяцев назад
@@tlf361 Hmmm. A 2nd set of tires $1,406.84 (gotta get a 3rd set soon); PCS repair $1,604.56; 2nd 12V battery $118.37; wiper blades $67.30. I've actually spent much more for accessories (floor mats, doggy seat, PPF protection, windshield shade, cabin filters, cargo mats, trailer hitch and wiring, cleaning supplies, adapters, etc.). Hope this helps.

Ugh CCS1, waste of money if you ask me. IDK why any Tesla user would bother, unless you don't have superchargers near you. Even then, simple level-2 charging is fine. But good informative video on the maintenance. My 2019 SR+ has had a few things repaired like the control arms squeak (under warranty) and a set of tires. I'll probably buy the 12v battery at 5 years, if not sooner.

2013 chevy volt and my insurance is liability only for 18$/month lol. i think I am an outlier. i ping pong between progressive and geico every year or two. get the burkshire hathaway class b share 9.7% discount by calling in after I signup. then progressive will give me a rate match once geico raises my rate after 2 yrs. its a game. pay for the insurance with the BOA custom cash 3-5.25% cash back credit card. in my area fast charging is more expensive than gas, and home electricity is ~$0.11/kw, and it gets pretty cold in the winter so the volt made way too much sense at ~7k$ used (90k miles). still gets 40 miles of range since the engine protects the battery from the cold, software doesnt let it discharge further than 30%, and no one has ever fast charged it since that didnt exist back then

@acolon8999
@acolon8999 11 месяцев назад
My 2020 Model Y has a lead acid battery but my wife's 2022 Model Y has the new Lithium battery. I also was under the impression that the lithium battery didn't need replacement but a Tesla Tech told me that they also go bad. They are just less weight and smaller. You can get aftermarket lithium batteries to replace the lead acid battery but those also go bad given time.
@CallasEV
@CallasEV 11 месяцев назад
All new Tesla cars have the lithium 16v battery installed on them today. Unfortunately due to the higher voltage, these batteries can't be retrofitted into the older cars. There are 3rd party lithium 12v batteries on the market, but they all look pretty sketchy in my opinion. Most of them tell you to expect that the car will give you warnings about 12v system after it's installed - not cool.
@Ryan-ff2db
@Ryan-ff2db 10 месяцев назад
Yes, mine has the lithium 12v battery. You can also upgrade to a lithium battery for $479. Whether that makes sense or not depends on how long you think you're going go have the vehicle.

56,000 miles in four years that’s 14,000 miles a year that means this lady goes to work and comes back sorry but most people are putting 25 a year. Let’s see how the car does after 100,000 miles my 2011 gas car has about 128,000 miles still running had to do a couple repairs but I’m still going let’s see how this test will be holding up after it has 120,000 miles.

Thanks for your feedback. One of the other cars in this video is above 125,000 miles and has their maintenence reported. The average driver in the US drives roughly 14,000 miles so my car is actually a pretty good example of wear over time.

lol you come off as so rude and no the average person does that drive that much. I work from home and do 5000 miles a year so 14,000 for someone who drives more often sounds like the average amount for other drivers.

Tesla was ranked one of the most unreliable vehicles you can get but if you’re like this girl you buy it New you drive it to work and back around town 10 to 15,000 miles a year you can probably get 7 years out of the thing before It completely dies on you before you’re looking at a $25,000 battery or 15,000 Dollar drive unit. If you buy one of these vehicles to actually do Uber sales, commute long distance/actually use the vehicle every day putting 20 to 30,000 miles a year on the vehicle you’ll be lucky to get three years out of the vehicle before it’s completely undrivable
