Just Roll With It is THE sole reason I got into DnD. Its the show that really showed how the game really played and taught me how the basic mechanics of dnd. I got into JRWI in 2020 and really helped me through the pandemic. Seeing how this show has grown is incredible to see. Im still disappointed in myself for just now starting Riptide after putting it off for so long (mostly because of my nostalgia for the Fated).
2:16:06 this makes me so unreasonably happy. When I finished apotheosis all I could think was condi NEEDS to write a book. Even if he never follows through with writing more about it it just makes me happy knowing he's considered it
I never realized Grizzly felt that way about his own work. Very interesting to hear about, ever since I got into JRWI he's been a role model for how to DM. Makes me feel better about my own writing in a way, maybe I don't need to hit that perfect vision in my mind.
Blood in the Bayou, for me, has to absolutely be the campaign with The most insane and best voice acting these bois have ever done. And that accompanied with the music, the rolls, the world, the characters Just makes for such an amazing and rewatchable campaign
Because of spoilers, I’m only watching the bitb section (the only campaign I’ve finished) but holy shit this video is so good I’m crying and screaming 😭 (thank you for inspiring me to watch the rest of the campaigns)
the way you talk about the fated is genuinely bringing me to tears ,, that campaign means so much to me and seeing other people even acknowledge it always makes my day :3
obviously havent watch this fully yet- but just wanna say how honoured i am to be able to say i know you ! ur so creative and put sm effort into what u put out man, this is truly one for the Ages
Dude I’m gonna cry actually that’s actually the most heartwarming thing anyone has ever said to me 😭😭 you know you inspire me so goddam much literally this means like more to me than you could know 🥹🥹🥹🥹
I have only been on my JRWI journey for roughly 11 months but I have been hypnotized by Grizzly’s storytelling and everyone’s characters. This essay really captures my passion for this podcast. I really wish I was there for the earlier campaigns and maybe one day I will crack open my piggy bank to join the patreon. Everyone’s creativity on every campaign is amazing and every other week when I get the Riptide notification I jump for joy.
Reed go off!! JRWI is certainly a magical experience. I do really miss Wheatie, and hope he feels up to returning at some point 👉 👈 This show inspired me to get into D&D myself, and has helped so much to learn how things work. And I love Just Rolled With it on the Patreon...hearing them discuss the story as it developed is just as integral tovmy love as well! There is no other show that I have kept up with for so long! Love the boys and wanna see them grow P.S. if you keep using Outer Wilds music im going to explode
Im going feral right now OWHKEJWD I've only ever watched riptide because i cant get patreon so i can finally get context to the little clips of prime defenders i see ALSO good to know someone else is definitely totally normal about gillion tidestrider the skrunkly who makes me cry any time any time his lore pops up Like "Sincerely, i hope it was worth it." BROKE ME LIKE WHAT THE FUUUU- anyways im done now ima go back to waiting for the new episode and cry
being able to see a fan (albeit a more hardcore one than me) get to interview the crew and do all this is so incredibly inspiring- i won't even lie, i totally cried during this. Just roll with it has touched a part of my soul in a way i can't explain. In turn, this video and reed (Reed- you, if you happen to read this) have also done so. and goddamn it, thank you. Thank you so much.
JRWI really is something special. Even though I haven't interacted with the community lately, I still can say for a fact that I had tons of fun there and met so many amazing people that I'm honored to have been able to interact with. Thanks for the video Reed :)
This is amazing I dont know what to say haha I had time to watch the Convergence and Fated parts rn but what you said about them is just so unbelievably true. And they also still feel very warm and dear to my heart. And yeah Its absolutely amazing to see where they and us all came from to where we are now I can do nothing but agree with what you said ^-^ Jrwi has impacted me thoroughly. Its brought me through sad times and also given me the opportunity to express myself creatively a lot more. Nothing but thank yous to the jrwi bois and the community for this all ALSO DAMN YOU FOR USING THE OLD SONG AT THE END IVE MISSED IT SO MUCH
It's nice to see how all the characters and the cast have grown ever since the beginning of the show. I remember the first time I watched the series back five years ago and it has never disappointed since then.
THE OUTRO MUSIC........... reed literally this made me so emotional, as somone whos not been with jrwi for all that long but whos life changed bc of it, THIS WAS AMAZING POOKIE BEAR
I've been watching JRWI for a little over 2 years, and having seen convergence and most of fated, you truly delivered a love letter that encompasses all the great work JRWI has done plus interviews! which is cool af!!! super well put together, covered literally everything under the sun, and yet I was never compelled to click away or skip ahead I can't wait until I'm caught up with PD (and finish apothy) and can appreciate all your work in full!!! Thank you for letting me feel some love and nostalgia and pour gas on my bonfire love for jrwi
I feel so insane about every part of this video and everyone involved. Reed you are an icon, this is unbelievably well written and is THE tribute befitting of an unbelievably well played podcast. I match your energy entirely about this show, and jrwi and the fandom are just so freakin cool. Loving every segment, I had to pause and write this because you’ve blown me away. And you’re so right, for me as well this is the ttrpg that spoke to me the most. The way the crew is brave enough to act, immerse themselves, edit, and open these stories to an audience that resonates so dearly with them is like- just insane. My respect for everyone involved is through the roof, as an English student, a writer, a little queer person living my life, I am just very thankful to be apart of all this and witness something that is very life changing for many of us.
REED THIS IS SO SO SO GOOD I KNOW I ALREADY SAID THIS OVER ON TWT BUT THE PURE PASSION IN THIS VIDEO AND THE EFFORT AND EDITING AND EVERYTHING IS SO SO SO WONDERFUL!!! All the little insights from the crew themselves, the bits of comedy sprinkled throughout, the genuine and really incredible discussions of themes and the stories... I don't even have the words it's so fucking good. Also JUMPSCARE mention of me in the video I was NOT prepared.
Obviously haven't watched the video fully yet but DAMN this goes hard!!! I am absolutely loving the interview portions with the crew and even moreso seeing you embody pretty much all of the sheer turmoil, happiness and insanity this show inflicts on me is an experience I've been crawing. What drug did they put in this podcast.. Edit: also the Outer Wilds music is a great choice. I'm already getting destroyed over here watching the devastating clips you picked and then you hit me with The Ancient Glade. Damn.
Wow, this is a really incredible video :) it’s clear that you put so much work into it, and as someone without Patreon who won’t be able to get it for probably four years at least, I really appreciated hearing your opinions about the Patreon campaigns!! Excellent work :)
gotta say, this was an amazing video. you put a lot of stuff into words i couldn't, and the interviews were great! i wished i could give this more likes
the part about fated threw me into a breakdown, one i havent experience since i first tried to relisten to it shortly after it abruptly ended when i was about 14, thank you for this, still will never be able to move on, but thank you regardless
So incredibly honored to be a part of a community as talented as this one, jrwi has been my favorite media for a while now and I'm so happy to see that it means just as much to other people as it does to me- also this vid was so entertaining and I loved every second:))
okay this video is perfect but I'm so autistic I noticed you have a Killjoy poster and I went as Party Poison for Halloween and own all the comics I love you so much 🙏🙏 I'm also very ill at the moment so watching this video cured my disease!! thank you Reed 🙏❤️
DONTTT MENTION THE KILLJOYS TO MEEE I’ll literally start bouncing off of the walls,,,, they mean everything it’s my fav mcr era the whole world and lore makes me bonkers I’mmmmmmmmmmmm,,, party poison cos is soooo cool!!! you found my other special interest lol
RAFHHHHHHHH THE OUTRO MUISC THIS WAS SO AMAZING REED I COULD TELL HOW MUCH OF A BEAUTIFUL PASSION PROJECT THIS WAS AND I LOVE IT SOSOSOSOSO MUCH!!!!!!!!
You never miss, you really never miss. This was such a nice video to watch and listen to. (I almost cried of happiness during some parts) And its just so damn cool to hear about all the behind the scenes stuff so thank you for making that possible :D Each and every campaign and character described so well. Almost everything that makes Jrwi so special summed up. This is so fucking cool haha I love it I cant talk enough about the insanities that come from this "little" dnd podcast we know and love as Just Roll With It
Hey I just wanna say I really loved this video essay, im a big jrwi fan and having the reasons people love it put into words was really heartwarming to me You did a really good job with this and its evident how much you love jrwi
The amount of excitement I had upon seeing this in my recommended, bro I’m so hyped! I’m very glad I found your channel and cannot wait to watch the rest of the video!
i loved this video so much! i especially liked the character section of riptide. i've always thought the characters, although representing three completely different parts of the world of mana, parallel each other just the right amount to make a truly interesting story. i also like how noticeable your love for apotheosis is in a Completely Normal Way, and how you describe the story in such a wonderful way which is truly what apothy deserves. the editing is nice and the felipe thing was so unsettling and funny. i dunno im not good at writing things i like this video very much ^_^
This is hands down one of the best videos I’ve seen!!! I love the depth you went into and the impact of the different stories!! I cannot count the amount of times I felt chills down my spine, and I absolutely teared up more than once. The entire video just felt perfect and it’s awesome knowing other people are just as normal about this show :))) 1000% looping this video a million times :)))
This made me cry with nostalgia and just everything, you captured the essence of this show and how much it means to me and many others, it’s amazing to see more people this passionate about this show and how much it means to all of us.
REED !!!! this was absolutely amazing and it made me remember just why i love this show as much as i do, thank you for making this video you seriously are incredible 🫶🫶
Thank you for making this video. The passion you shared is exactly how I feel about the show, and I'm glad someone could put it into words as beautifully as you did. Here's to many more years of JRWI!!!!
It’s so awesome that you were able to interview so many of the JRWI team and what you said about the Fated rings so true to how many fans feel about it
I cried around 11 times just watching the Riptide part Welp, guess I'm gonna have to finnish all the other campaigns before watching the rest See you soon 🏊
YOOOOOOOOOOO new upload!! This is so cool to see!! This is such a well put together video essay, stupidly high quality for someone with only 1k subs, you deserve some bigger number that I'm too tired to consider
Absolutely amazing work reed. I think I'll write a longer comment eventually maybe but I gotta prepare for a coc session LMAO Amazing video though amazing interviewing and structuring and everything. I absolutely loved it.
Ive been watching JRWI since about midway through season 2 of Fated, you really encapsulated the feeling this show gave off. Every story told here has been a constant source of inspiration and connection throughout my life, I love this show so much. And there is no better way for me to spend 2:45:47 seconds (It actually took me all day to watch it because i kept pausing to think about everything I love about the show as you were talking about them but shhhhh). Also i only vaguely remember the lost Convergence episodes i think one was about space and (spoiler) Strangle Macock survived and brought them to "The Strangle Hold", and the other a western train heist, and they found out how the eggs worked and could control where they went with them??? or those were both fever dreams.
OMG YESSS DELIVERING WHEN I NEEDED IT THE MOST THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! i've had nothing to do and just felt empty since i started looking for a job, and honest to god... you just reminded me of jrwi again, been rewatching my fav episodes and catching up, genuinely thank you for rekindling my love for jrwi, and for making me feel less like shite lol
Hey Reed reed_you_guess i_reed_a_little! Big fan of your content! I just got to the Felipe section! Are you alright? Do you need to talk? Should I call someone? Thanks!
