Having worked at a grocery store part-time my senior year in high school, I made enough money to buy a new motorcycle and take a dreamed of motorcycle trip. A novice for sure, even after reading all the issues of "Road Rider Magazine." I headed west in May of 1973 onboard my brand new 1973 Honda CB 500 Four. A 1973 Yamaha XS650 was a few dollars less expensive, but was so impressed by those four individual exhaust pipes, I chose the Honda. Leaving home in North Dakota for Canada and Glacier National Park and Banff National Park, somewhat anxious about what awaited me on my journey, crossing under the first underpass on Interstate 94, I thanked Mr. Honda and the Honda Motor Company for my bike. Never looked back!
