50,000 km ഉപയോഗിച്ച വെർണയുടെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ അവസ്ഥ | Hyundai Verna Long Term Review | Final Report | POW 

Hyundai Verna is a special model for POW as it was the first model to join our long term fleet. We had lots of memories with the Verna as it was with our team for more than 1 and 1/2 years now. The model we had was the diesel automatic SX variant, which is just below the top-end variant later the company introduced in top-spec trim also. The styling still looks fresh and sometimes it reminds us of BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe. The projector headlamps and fog lamps offer good visibility and we didn’t have any issues.
One thing we particularly like is the cornering lamps and we wished every car had this as it helps to eliminate the roads very well. The Verna come with slightly low profile tyres and we have to be extremely careful with the potholes. This is one of the first batch cars and it came with Hankook tyres, which are not very well suited for our bad roads. Later Hyundai changed the tyre supplier. The paint quality is excellent and the Verna still shines like brand new.
The interior of Verna feels still brand new. The touch screen is slick and offers a good touch response too. The seats of Verna is really good and especially older people like it. But the rear legroom is bit low and for taller passengers, they are not useful as headroom is also tight because of coupe design. One thing we all loved a lot is the 1.6 L CRDI unit with 126 PS and 260 Nm. We had the automatic variant. There is not much lag and power is more than enough to overtake.
We wished the brakes were bit better as pedal feel is not great. Straight-line stability is good but steering feedback is average. Overall, we really enjoyed our time with Verna. Its sad to see the Verna going back. Hopefully, Hyundai might give something more exciting to replace Verna.
