First off, if you're throwing in the 90s gaining 4mph is insane. Second, if you're gaining 15lbs of muscle that's either your first year of training or you're taking steroids. People talk like gaining muscle is as easy as gaining fat.
@@Kefka2010 I mean it was realisticly 5lbs of muscle beyond where I was when I first hit 95 I lost weight my sophomore year of college bc I was all stressed out from my struggles
@@60eraguy I've been working out for around 15 years and powerlifting for maybe 7. I think your comment about gaining x amount of muscle mass is BS but your pitching speed is legit. Focus on that and be happy with it. Go for pro.
@@Kefka2010 yeah buddy, you just reinforced my point for me. 15 pounds of muscle is a huge huge huge accomplishment. And to only gain 4 mph, REINFORCES that skill and technique trump every other attribute. Rest my case peace.
Im currently working with this lefty who just turned 15 and throws 83. Kids a stud. Starting freshman year at Catholic Memorial next year. No doubt. He just hit his growth spurt and his 5'11. Hoping he squeaks to 6 feet. But hes 5'11 187 solid rock. Hes going to be 93-94 ny senior year. As a lefty. No injuries, hes going D1 and then pro. Absolutely stoked about this kid. Anywah, great work man. I miss the game. Enjoy it as long as you can. Im just a 32 year old giving back now.
@@Redneck-boy2013 if that's the truth find someone to teach you how to pitch. That's a special type of arm. And don't throw curves or sliders until you're shaving regularly. Learn and perfect a change-up. And practice long toss!
That's awesome man. Glad you are staying with baseball. My grandson at 8 yrs 11 months 4'4.5" tall this past August 2023 hit 51, 50, 52, and another 52 mph on the gun. His throwing mechanics are spot on. Keep going at it, man.
Love to see that grind! I hit 98 back in the day, unfortunately I tore my quad at 13 and I knew I would never make the grind of a professional season. I would fall down stairs after games in high school. However I got to watch my brother play in the Biggs. Work on those other pitches, a nasty breaking ball with that and a good change…. You could make people look dumb all day.
This was really cool to watch. It’s amazing when you see those guys that just all the sudden break into the next level of velo. I was right on track with you until I was 15. Then by 18 I only crept up to 80, and at 20 I topped out at 84, never getting any faster. Awesome work
Imma do mine based off my knowledge 9u-50 10u- huge glow up high to mid 50s 11u- 60 12u-started off slow because all I did was catch but I started workin out and left the team because I never wasn’t catching… when I left I tried out for a way better team and pitches 67 highest and I hit 67 the most I’m now goin into 13u guess I gotta see what u can do
17yo 90 mph. That is terrifying. Imagine stepping up to varsity baseball your jr year. You have been hitting off of 70s your 2 years and have gotten used to the speed. Then all of a sudden you have to hit against this dude!
Bro I read you are 5'9 which is a great inspo for me, as I'm 5'7 in my 20s, starting to throw, my current goal is to reacg 70, and eventyally pass the 80 (gotta say I don't really play and just began the process)
At 16 I threw 86 and had scouts out watching, 9 days after turning 17 in September of my senuir year, i went to a party with my best friend and catcher.... he ended up flipping the car and ejecting me out the window, where i spent 28 days in ICU, now blind in my right eye, had 13 broken ribs, broke right clavical, 2 ruptured lungs and jaw broken in 2 places! My potential career and dreams were over! One night of drinking cost me baseball and both backup careers i had planned! Lesson being, dont drink, it can cost you more than you would have ever imagined! Im now 50 and have regretted it everyday since then!
I’m training my 13yr old son, pulled him out of school to home school do we can be more focused on pitching… he’s currently throwing about 30mph.. but I’m expecting big things from him as he gets older.. I’m 5’7”, 285 so I’m thinking he’ll also be a big boy, which will help him get to the show… I’m thinking g about hiring a small team of experts to help develop him… although my job at the car wash doesn’t pay that much.. my buddy said to take a 2nd on my house because he thinking Ronny jr will get to the bigs…
I know you were 15, but 75 at 5’3” is pretty damn impressive. I throw 70 at 12 and my size helps me a lot, I’m about 5’10”. Being taller provides a lot more leverage to throw harder, so being able to throw that hard at such a small size takes all strength, rotation, flexibility, and mechanics.
My younger bro is the same he is 9 and has thrown 59 mph during a game. 😮 ( No joke he is actually crazy ) He also has never benched or anything he is just a natural. He is throwing harder than some of the 7th grade boys in my school
You’ve got more in there but you gotta get that body in control or your command is going to suffer. Check out tread or driveline. Those guys will get you to your max potential
I’m 13U and 5’8-5’9 and I throw 80 but I also play football so that built up my arm, and I played soccer as a goalie for like 7 years on 1 team and I could throw it to half field in my middle school soccer field so yeah, but I’m currently stuck throwing 82 mph 😅
I’m 10 and I throw 64 I train and I’m dedicated to baseball and I started playing when I was 3 and we have our own field and batting cages I’m very happy I can have all of this or else I would only be throwing 56
At 12(5'3 about 120Lbs) I could throw 65MPH then didn't play baseball again as my HS didnt have a team until my senior year which was my last year of competitive baseball and I topped out at about 75MPH at age 17(5'10 138Lbs). That was with no pitching specific training at all
When i was 14 i was throwing low to mid 80s and then covid hit. I was doing the best I could to maintain my health but then i got slammed with medical stuff (autoimmune disease) and by the time school started back up, i had lost 80 lbs and was exactly where i was 2 years ago. Ended up not wanting to play high school ball for my senior year because it just ruined baseball for me. All of the hard work growing up was for nothing. Well thats what i kept telling myself, but by not playing school ball i met some of my favorite people that i wouldnt have had classes with if i had been on varsity. All of the baseball may have been for "nothing", but it gave me a great sense of self and put me down the path that led me to having class with my now closest friends. It took me a while, but soon i realized that it wasnt just a silver lining, it was new winds blowing the cloud away entirely :)
11u 50mph ok, you really stepped it up. My 9u (8 y/o) is throwing 45mph. Hopefully he’s a 50mph next year. I limit his pitching cuz he’s a SS but this was interesting gave me a idea of where he’s at. Mad respect, kept grinding! 🫡Thank you!
Impressive dude. 💪🏻 from somebody who was also throwing upper 70's at 14 & 15 yrs old, and then let it all go, i got allot of respect for you. It's the biggest regret of my life honestly. Besides trying opioids. I also had pretty bad tendinitis in my throwing (right) elbow. Doc said i was throwing breaking balls and pitches BESIDES a str8 up split finger fastball, too young... That's ALL any kid that age should be throwing. Keep it up youngster, ur run ain't over yet. 💯💪🏻🎯🔥
