Hello everyone! Welcome to another Bird Dude video. Sorry I haven't posted for a while, this video took AGES to make.
While for a lot of us Australian birds are just the Magpies, Wedge-tailed Eagles, gulls and bin chickens, there are actually lots more Australian birds. Here are 50 of Australian birds, all of which are native birds.

Thanks for such a great video - I have taken up Birding as a hobby for 2021 - and just trying to learn to sight the different birds, make them out by ear and sneak around without making noise is SO HARD... ^_^ Thanks for your help with this vid, enabled me to identify some specific breeds.

What about the Noisy Friarbird, I have a lot of them in my garden. I call them chatter boxes, they never stop talking and twittering away, they love hanging up side down gathering all the nectar from all the flowering bushes around me

Man, I have had a few weird bloody conversations with some random individual in this forum that has had NOTHING to do with birds. Just so you know. Let's hope this person takes note of my warning and promptly ceases his behaviour. I just wanted you to be aware of this. It beggars belief, honestly. I love your work, keep it up. Cheers.

@@johngreen9830 Yeah, it's funny how all the Nigerian "love scammers" claim to be engineers working on oil rigs off the Coast of Mexico, pretending to be from somewhere in the States, have Anglo-Saxon names yet can't even speak/write correctly in English. It's a thing, look it up! Haha, bloody hell...Cheers! 🦘

Noticed goin to a our crows and ravens are different compared to other Corvus around. Most Ravens and crows have dark eyes. But the Australasian Corvus , Ravens have silverish close to pale light gray eyes. And the Australian crow itself is large for a crow.

I know what all these critters LOOK like, I want to know what they all SOUND like. I have a bird that is doing my head in at the moment, waking me up at dawn (I live on an acreage, Mid-North Coast, NSW.) I have a sneaking suspicion that it is a Cuckoo of some kind but not sure which one.

Hi, There is a website called Ebird where there are many resources, such as different species' calls. If there are a few species you suspect it is then search them up on the website. Cheers!

@@birddude9822 I checked out Ebird but it wasn't really that helpful, it doesn't seem to offer a way to narrow things down to a specific area all that well and it mainly just describes a species that has been spotted at a certain sight, and most of them don't include the bird call. At my place (which is 8.5 acres), I have many, many huge trees (and a state forest behind me) so it's impossible to see the birds at times, that's why I am more interested in identifying them by their call. Anyway...I appreciate the tip. Thanks again.

Anyhoo, I also took your advice and looked up Australian Cuckoo, and sure enough, I think I have found the culprit. It sounds very much like a Fan-tailed Cuckoo. This, my friend, is not all that pleasant to listen to when it goes on incessantly first thing in the morning! Hahaha! Cheers.

You got the scientific names of the oceanian darter, black swan, eastern great egret, little pied cormorant, long-billed corella, and sulphur-crested cockatoo completely wrong, their correct scientific names are actually Ophiornis novaehollandiae, Chenopis atratus, Casmerodius albus modestus, Nanocarbo melanoleucos, Licmetis tenuirostris, and Flavolophus galeritus respectively.
