"It shifted me: it's when you get hurt that bad either your fear consumes you or you become a bit insensitive. And, you start to approach the problem instead of run from it." Powerful words!
I never understood what I personally went through until I heard 50 speak on his experiences. When I was stabbed as a teenager, I felt myself become so paranoid and afraid with my surroundings and with being in crowded places that it made me open my eyes to everything around me no matter where I am in life. I no longer looked at things under simple context, but defined them just as he says "you look at the bushes, I look through the bushes". As I grew older, I became uncomfortable and hated feeling so paranoid, and the only time I didn't feel like that was when I was doing dirt on the streets. The paranoia made me aware, it made me more insensitive to the point I rarely was afraid of anything else. Trauma can either teach you or break you.
Ironically you have learned something philosophical which is to look underneath the underneath. It’s like the saying “if something is too good to be true than it probably is” and so on. I’m the same way it’s the reason i don’t drink intoxicants, i can never allow myself to relax in public or around people, only when i’m alone do i feel truly content and safe. If that’s strange then i understand it’s not for everyone, but it works and it’s kept me alive and thriving thus far. Peace ✌🏼
that line about instead of letting paranoia and fear consume you you look through the bushes instead of running away you approach the problem , realest shit i"ve ever heard
He was born in the slums, never knew or met his father till this day, lost his mother at 8 due to gun violence, raised by his grandparents in a house of 10 other people, starting hustling at 12, dropped out of school, was incarcerated, started making music at 16, signed two record deals and was released by both of them, shot multiple times in 2000, jumped then stabbed in a studio by multiple guys and yet he still became successful. So what is your excuse for not grinding again?
Talk that talk. You got niggas who grew up not wanting to Amount to shit settling for what they can get and you got people who grew up aiming for something better in Life. You got people who'll never know what it is to Grind hard for their Dreams, let alone have some. Compared to those waking up every day grabbing what they're destined to have unable to afford settling for less.
That last quote is so powerfull and treu and that second option of the last quote is what makes REAL unafraid soldiers ''when you get hurt that bad either your fear consumes you or you become a bit insensitive and you start to approach the problem''
50 cent is a legend. When u goes he will be remembered. He literally is a student of life. He’s not a monster this world threw challenges at him and he forced himself to adapt and deal with it.
this is one of the reasons i kept listening to your music since your breakout. he real all the way, baby and he back on it too watchout you youngsters, he be crushing you with real talk.
Truth behind 50's word's finally..... he ain't cracking jokes. Real shit here. Felt this. Still think big homie crazy funny tho. God bless big homie. Keep doing what you doing.
this is really nicely shot, also - 50 talking on feeling vulnerable? Very rare. He needs to put that vulnerability into his music, love the guy but the constantly revised topics of money and girls over mediocre beats are the reason he doesn't have much of an audience left for his music. We need street tales in the past tense too, we know he's not out there shooting people these days, reflect on those days in an artistic way fif c'monn..
Thafussa The Funeral was sick no doubt but where's the consistency? Animal Ambition had about 4 good songs and didn't really have much heart. The reason why people are connecting so much with Drake, Kendrick & Cole right now is they talk about real shit, real feelings and experiences mixed with a social conscious..
It’s either your fear (it’s really cowardice I believe) consumes you or you become a bit insensitive and you start to approach the problem instead of running from it. Great statement by 50
having been a victim of violence brought about from the 'lifestyle' of street culture in nyc, i relate to 50 on a whole nother level . he's articulating something i've been through; so much more than i can or anyone around me. "Put a gun in your face, tell ya open the safe As your heart starts to race cause a robbery could turn into a homo-case Co-opperate or Doc will have to op-porate"
I wish 50 would have put a bit more of that vulnerability in his records. As much DMX, Nas and 2Pac popped that "gangsta" talk expected in the culture, they weren't scared of showing listeners how vulnerable they could be. Many Men, Hate It or Love It and a very few others is as far as we got with Fif......
More money in movies, after watching an episode Nellyville & that nugga Nelly really was sweatin' doin' a show in South Dakota for the bread,I realized that if you stay in rap to long & not shift your main focus to bigger ventures you'll be 40 rappin' in South Dakota for a check... SMDH
the fade from black & white to color at the end was very entertaining. Well done to whoever edited this video!! Tight work! Wish I could say the same about Ebro, he's the worst!!
