@@dmoney8177 are you naive or stupid? He can't just return the money lol. The lawsuit that follows will dry him off every penny if he doesn't follow through. It'd cost him millions.
Not really hustled he was in a position where he needed a lil help and got the help from Master P and Master P holding back for a bigger profit is not a bad at all
@@ShaneBradfordit wasnt a guarantee 50 would blow but the upfront money was guaranteed. It was a smart investment on P end. That's what the best businessman do and 50 gladly took the upfront money
Early on he took jabs at P for it. Remember around the time this happened he was like, Master P is irrelevant? But I think he’s definitely over it now.
That is called a business man and a brilliant one at that I wish more executives would go that route because he didn't hurt the artist nor did he hurt himself
@@leefswgoh7558 how ? If the artists nowadays got offered half then the other half later they would say no it's my money. Wonder what 50 would of said if he was offered half the money upfront for 8 show performance
@@D-A-A- That's not even remotely comparable. The value of money stays roughly the same over time, where as the value of a 50 cent show increased enormously during that delay. Lets say you're an upcomming rapper making 5.000 a show. I pay you 50.000 dollars for 10 shows. After you've done 5 shows, i delay the other 5 shows. In the meantime during the delay, you blow up. Because you're way more popular now you can easily ask 20.000 for just one show, but you still have to do the 5 shows i only paid 5.000 per show for. This means you're effectively losing 15.000 per show you have to do for me instead of booking 5 new shows for 20.000 a pop. That's 75.000 dollars you're missing out on simply because i delayed the shows and you blew up in the meantime. Basically master p was paying a starting artist rate for 8 shows, but got an established artist for the last 4 shows because of the delay. Where as 50 got a starting artist rate for the last 4 shows while he was already an established artist, losing out on a lot of potential income.
@@carokann4397 What's your point? Doing business like master P did in this story "hurts" the artist because they're not getting paid what they're worth. It's not a difficult concept, i'd imagine someone with a chess defense as their name would have no problem understanding it.
Lol true. I think P giving him a platform in the south as well took the sting out of it which def helped increase his overall sales for get rich or die trying. Plus he didn’t want to get kidnapped like pimp c for reneging on a contract with p
The one time getting played is a compliment, where u not only respect the hustle but u know he pressed pause bc he saw 50 had a lot of potential and was about to take off
I’d have to agree. Gotta give P his props for doing things first, and what he did in the 90’s with no limit was honestly insane. Then continuing to grow his wealth with outside business ventures. 50 is a very sharp guy as well, wouldn’t be surprised to hear if he had discussions with P in terms of business advice as they had a relationship.
He was NOT finessed at all. P assumed all the risk up front by paying him in advance. There was no guarantee that he would sell that many records. I bet some of those sales came from the 1st first shows it did on tour. Back then, word of mouth was golden!
For 50 to fullfill his last 4 shows is an indication the man is well grounded He was already paid n he was popping... he could have easily started problems but he didn't. He respected the contract
Yall don't know business nor understand what finesse means. Suge was fuckin up. Suge named his price P ran that bread. Same with 50. Wasn't nobody payin 50 what P paid. That's why he was first. Invest to make profit. It's called Business
There's something about almost losing your life. You come back from it different. You built different now. Your playing for keeps. But even here, there's levels to the game. Hunger is an extremely valuable commodity to possess
50 coulda turned it down or got paid for 4 shows..... he let the money get to his head that ain’t no finesse it ain’t p fault at the time for him believing in 50 more than he believed in himself
Master P was smart and he did it right. He didn’t rip 50 off. He gave him the money upfront. Took a gamble and it paid off. Other promoters won’t give you the money until after.
