Quite the reverse!! Drill is the modern interpretation of Gangster rap & the only mainstream sound in Hip hop in this era. The 00's was the era of *HIP POP!* and real rap music was either a bootleg or a mixtape or just straight out un popular! Like it or not current rap music is *more raw* than then! @@jptv1663 Still more raw than when I was growing up mainstream radio/TV rap was Nelly/Ja Rule, Justin Timberlake, Nelly furtardo, 50's real rap music was on the underground as bootleg mixtapes on napster!, songs like candy shop wasn't raw rap, neither was 21 questions it was pop! Emminem purple hills - pop! It was all rap pop! Drill is the modern form of Gangster rap, it's mainstream and raw and I don't even like Drill beats but that's the God damn truth.
