In Bosnia and Herzegovina we have few ancient ones. First is: "Ko se ženi na brzinu, kajat će se natenane" which means : "One who gets married with someone in a hurry will repent gradually". If you don't know someone really good before marriage you will have plenty of time to see how big mistake has been made. Word "ženi" in the sentence is verb we use only for males. "Ženiti se" is a verb which significate a situation when man gets a girl as his wife. Natenane (gradually in sentence) is arhaic word and also can be translated as "in detail, precisely". The other one is : "Dvoje treba pojesti kilu soli zajedno da bi se upoznali" which means "Two people (refers to couple) have to eat one kg of salt together so they can know each other very good". It is not easy to eat one kg of salt, you need to spend a lot of time together to eat that amount. So only if you spend a lot of time with someone you can truly get to know that person. We also say "Ljubav je slijepa" translated as "Love is blind".

In Poland we have same construction of a sentence: "żenić się" means to get married, and it is related to males. About women we say "wychodzić za mąż", you cannot directly translate it but it means closely to "be married to a husband".
@ennabovary
@ennabovary 2 года назад
@@agnieszkabatyra4332 thanks for explanation, it is really similiar. In Bosnian as well as in Serbian and Croatian language for females we say: "Udati se"( to get married to husband) For example: Ona se udaje/ Udala se(3. Person of singular) we can translate as She is getting married/ She got married.

I think in 🇵🇭, this is the most famous about Love: ( literally every filipino knows this poem) "O pag-ibig, pag pumasok sa puso nino man, hahamakin ang lahat, masunod ka lamang". Which means, when a person falls in love, they will do anything and everything just for the love of their life's wishes and whims. ergo, whatever that would make them happy.

In Poland we say: Bo w tym cały jest ambaras żeby dwoje chciało naraz - which means if you want to create a relationship you have to want the same with your partner, just the same right now. Two people must care for each other in the same way. Btw 2:51 🇵🇱

For France : - Mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux ! (Rainy marriage, happy marriage) Even if here, pluvieux (rainy) was originally plus vieux (older) - Une de perdue, dix de retrouvées (one lost, ten found) - "Souvent femme varie, bien fol est qui s'y fie" - François I (Often woman varies, quite fool is who trust it) - Loin des yeux, loin du coeur (far frome eyes, far from heart) - femme qui rit, a moitié dans ton lit (laughing woman, half in your bed) - Les hommes sont comme les melons, sur dix il y en a un de bon (men are like melons, on ten there's only one good) - Heureux au jeu, malheureux en amour (happy/lucky on game(s), sad/unlucky in love) - l'amour rends aveugle, le mariage rends la vue (love makes you blind, marriage restores sight)

i like the phrase for the one from argentina "good things come for those who wait" a lot of people feel pressured of finding fast a relationship and that's when we think no one loves us or "WE" are the problem, it's okay if you are a teen and never kissed, it's okay if u never had sex in your 20s because that happens to a lot of people YOU have to decide, society and no one needs to force you it has to come naturally ♥

@@alokbaluni8760 Fine. Now I know that he was saying 'kaur', not 'car'. And it indeed means 'princess' in Punjabi. My bad. However, his comment was irrelevant. He could have said something related to love instead of what he thinks Indians think about women. Moreover, his comment was just a random thought. It lacked the universality that other countries represented. It wasn't really a saying that one might hear during conversations about love. Instead, he could have said something like "ये इश्क़ नहीं आसाँ, इतना ही समझ लीजे। इक आग का दरिया है और डूब के जाना है।" which is relevant as well as universal.

"Aufg'wärmt is nua a Gulasch guad" -> Only a Goulash is good warmed up. That means that you should not go back to your old love too rash. After all, it didn't work out the first time, so why should it be better the second time round?

There are two different nouns for two different kind of love in turkish. Sevgi and aşk. Sevgi is any kind of love you can feel towards any person or animal or object etc. Aşk is strong, romantic feeling you have for someone special.

To add to the Canadian's saying ... "pulling the goalie" is a related saying when a partner stops using birth control. Keep your stick on the ice, folks.

Lombardy (Italy 🇮🇹) dialect: "prem de spusàss, g'heet de maià 'n kil de sal insèma" ➡️ before getting married, (you two) have to eat one kg of salt together (one pinch at a time) ➡️ don't be in a hurry, the secret to a good marriage is knowing the person very well before tying the knot and it takes time ❤ (By my nonna, who passed away in 2017 at 94, almost 95)

Just random thought, I think introverts from one part of world can easily fall in love with an introvert from other part of world. Cause he/she has more in common with this random introvert than with an extrovert of his/her of same culture.

you are absolutely right. I'm a Ecuadorian introvert and my partner is a Hungarian introvert haha , he might be more introverted than me, but we definitely match really well because we understand and respect each other alone and quiet times

I'd also add to Poland "każda potwora znajdzie amatora" - it means that even if you're maybe not very attracive, there will be always someone in the world, even if only one person, who can truly love you

Perhaps this is similar to the Dutch saying "elke pot heeft zijn dekseltje" ( every jar has a lid). Meaning that there is s suitable partner for everyone somewhere.

Here are two French sayings "Une de perdue, dix de retrouvées" One lost, Ten found back. Basically when you break up with someone don't let it drag you down cause we're billions on earth, you'll find someone else. "Femme qui rie, femme à moitié dans ton lit" A woman who laughs means woman who's half in your bed. It simply means that making a woman genuinely laugh is a big romantic advantage.
