And trust, the trust is what gets me every time. And with the ones who are scared, it is the convincing the being they can trust one. Nothing more fulfilling, except convincing a child of the same.
I never wanted a dog (too much work, too needy, what if I don't wanna take a walk when she does?) to falling in love with a rescue chow and, a year later, a stray wienerdog-mix puppy who jumped into my car at the grocery store. Both lived to be 17. Still miss them real bad.
My husband and I didn't like cats until one adopted us. Since then we have had six and counting. The first day our puppy was in the house, my husband told her to "...get out of my way, dog..." The very next day, it was, ..."excuse me, precious baby girl..."
When I tried to get my dad to say "Hi!" to our cat Sassy on the phone he would say: "I ain't talking to no damn cat on the phone!" Later, he would say: "How's Sassafras?" his own pet name for him before uttering even one word to me! ☺️😆😆😆🥰💖💕
Never had this problem. There was a cat in the house when I was born and been one ever since. Although I admit, that first cat wasn't happy about me intruding. She gave up by the time two more kids appeared.
My late father in law swore he hated cats, all cats my cat. Fine, just tolerate this one. Cute to me getting fussed at for “not feeding my cat” or “feeding her carp “. And he has to feed the cat. Yes I did feed my cat lol, but he gave the cat tuna. Had a special stretch and meow just for him.
It’s all bluff and front , they are just as smitten as us girls!, my late husband used to come in from work I’d hear him say hello darling, he was talking to our senior cat who would wait for her Dad on the back of his chair by the front door!. I’d get “what’s for dinner?”….😂
