We were there on 7/3 and they kept incredicoaster open during world of color. We timed our lightning lane perfectly and got to watch the show while on the ride!
@@blackbeltbiker8169 yeah to be honest I wasn’t thrilled with that. We recently ate at Lamplight Lounge and while watching the show I found the screams from the coaster distracting during the show. Not that they were so loud that you could t hear but it just took me out of it a bit.
Great tips! BTW, concerning The Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Fantasyland Track is on the Right and just slightly less jerky and shorter while the Tomorrowland Track is on the Left and rougher and longer. Just wanted to clear that up!
My hack for 3 or more days: Spend 2 full days at Disneyland ONLY doing 1/2 the park each day. We do Adventureland, Frontierland, New Orleans Sq & Critter Country on the first day and Tomorrowland, Fantasyland & Toon Town on the second day. Not only does this cut down on A LOT of walking, it (more importantly IMHO) cuts down on the stress. If you're only thinking about the rides/attractions of 1/2 the park, the wait times are less scary & you loose less time trying to decide which far away ride to hit with the lower lines... only to get there to find out everyone else noticed and now the line is long and you have to go to the next one. The third day is for DCA. Also SWL can be plugged on to either or both of the Disneyland days. We go 4-5 days so we will set aside an entire 1/2 day in there on day 4.
Thanks for the DLR content! On correction nn the Matterhorn- the left is more jerky, but that is the tomorrowland side. The fantasyland side is on the right.
is it really that uncomfortable ? I want to take my fam next year and the kids are excited specifically about Matterhorn... would need to manage their expectations
@@RafaRomero1981 when I was younger, I didn't really have any complaints, but it can be pretty jerky and bumpy, so as my back has aged, it likes the ride less.
Rise of the Resistance will always have a long line. Best way to avoid a 2 hours lane (and same for Radiators Springs Racers) without a lighting pass is simply to get to the park at 7 am and wait until they open the park. They let you in around 740 am and then hold the crowd in the middle of the park and at 8 they open the access through Adventure Land and Frontier Land. Go straight to Rise of the Resistance, when you're done you can still go to a couple of usually overcrowded rides like Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean and Hyperspace Mountain with still decent queues. In California's Adventures go straight to Radiators and then to Guardians of the Galaxy. Incredicoaster usually is not that crowded for the first few hours, most people are afraid of it or don't want to get stomach sick and won't ride it, so you can ride it constantly with a 20 mins wait during the morning
15:22 its nice that disney does that. i always felt bad because i was the only one who didn’t like splash mountain so me and my dad had to wait for them to get done. it always made me feel like i was the one making my dad skip out on riding rides
Went to Disneyland in Oct 2019 and December 2022. Both trips had Hyperspace Mountain and TNBC overlay on Haunted Mansion. Someday I’d really like to ride the original version of those rides. 😅
Three biggest takeaways between Disney, World, and Disneyland. Disneyland will have way longer white lines all the way across every ride. Disneyland does not have as much cover away from the sun. Disneyland parades you need to get to way earlier if you want to see it front row like at least an hour and a half. Hope that helps.
Planning my first trip to DL soon (as a lifelong WDW person), and only having a couple days out there, I just want to finally see Walt’s OG Park, and the attractions we don’t have on the East Coast. But I am SO glad that I discovered in time to not waste my $$ that, as a non-“thrill”ride person, (seriously, the tiny drop on Pirates is the extent of my “thrill” tolerance lol), I would have little to no use for Genie+ at DL… My focus will be almost entirely on attractions that I now realize do not allow for lightning lanes.
Honestly the parks aren’t huge and a couple days should be fine for the non thrill rides. I recently moved to Florida and have WDW passes now. I was a lifelong Disneyland pass holder before. I personally like Disneyland better than MK. I may be alone but I find it more charming and nostalgic. The Fantasyland rides are more the way MK used to be. There are rides that are better at MK like Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan but Pirates and Small world are better at Disneyland. I would say do Disneyland for one day and parkhop the second if you miss anything. You should be able to get thru DCA in just over half of a day especially if you do t care about thrills. Don’t skip Radiator Springs Racers. It’s not super fast but it is a great ride. It may push your limit but don’t be discouraged.

One more question, if you happen to see this: It looks like the weekend I’m going to be able to go to DL is one with Oogie Boogie Bash at DCA on the Sunday, which I’m aware would mean we would have to exit that park at 6pm… Do you know if, in general, special event days at DCA behave similar to those at MK, where, due to the ticketed event and early closure, the *daytime* (before 3 or 4pm) hours of that park are relatively empty, making lines shorter, etc?
You mentioned attractions with only one vehicle. Casey Jr, during the summer and Christmas time have two operating. Also, during those times, The Columbia Sailing ship will be on the rivers of America, along with the Mark Twain.
We went to Runaway Railway on a Friday in July right after the parade and had a maybe 20 minute wait. It was great because the queue was completely inside and in air conditioning. The DVC lounge at Disneyland is nicer than the one in Epcot. It's enormous and a great way to get a little AC and phone charging in (and they loan out chargers if you don't have one with you.) Indiana Jones was one of the most popular rides while we were there, with a consistent 50 minute to 1 hour line. Park hopping is just so much easier in CA. You don't need to go back through security once in the Disney bubble, so it's just super easy to get between the parks. I love that you can really just do a day or two in the parks in CA and it's OK. The same is true for Tokyo Disney. (We did Sea and Land at the end of June.)
Another tip for runaway railway is to go after the firework show(or get in queue during the firework show), as toontown is closed during the fireworks!
27:15 I once went to the park and I went on single Rider three times, and one of the cast members asked me if I wanted to ride alone or wait for another group before they let in other guests, and I decided to go alone so then i could actually ride as a pilot 🎉
I also have never won on radiator springs racers. I have been an annual pass holder on and off for about 35 years and rode it the day it opened on June 15, 2012. It happens to be my anniversary. Also in Cars land at Christmas there is a snowman looking mater to take a picture with at the postcard at the main entrance to cars land.
I have a trip (first time) for later in October. I am realizing that the bulk of the rides we want to ride do not have genie+, does anyone know if I can get a refund or is it like all sales are final?
Just everybody remember that the monorail is currently closed. It will be closed until September 1 which is the same day that they will be reopening the haunted mansion.
I have a question for you other DL pros. To maximize your day, do you go left, straight, or right? (Assuming you aren’t early entry). I know my preference I was wondering what other pros think.
If you aren’t early entry go to Rise of the Resistance first because early entry only get to go to fantasy land and tomorrow land… and for rope drop it’s fair game for anyone This way your wait is shorter and the ride tends to break down later in the day. Go through frontier land, if you go through adventure land you get bottle necked.
I have to add a caveat to my tip ☝️this only works if your at the rope or towards the very front of the crowd (because it make Rise a walk on and then you can get right off utilize the rest of that golden hour).
I would go to the left but still get a genie pass. I would hit like she said Indiana-pirates of the Caribbean-haunted mansion. That would be all in a row. And no lines. If you don’t know, Disneyland has an average of 45 minutes to over an hour for almost any ride so anytime you can save time will make a big difference.
@@CUTravel1st so that’s actually my exact plan. We fortunately have an ecv with us too so we first fast pass big thunder, rope drop Indy, then go on jungle, then go on our fastpass big thunder, immediately fastpass splash, get a return time (ecv) for haunted, go on pirates, go on haunted (from our ecv return time), go on splash, fastpass smugglers, get lightning lane for rise, go on smugglers, then go on with the rest of our day. I’m pretty sure between ecv, genie plus, and rope drop we can actually ride every single ride at Disneyland in one day if we wanted to.
Nope. Was there four days ago and it’s like 30min longer than the time expected. You have to account for the lightning and genie pass. They have priority so makes the line longer.
Tip for Grizzly River Run or Splash Mountain. Our family have ridden these rides even during the winter ❄️ using the following tips. If you did not get a chance to ride these two in the day and you still want to mark them Off your list . Ride them at night, they’re virtually empty by then. 1.Pack an extra change of clothes/shoes 2 Rent a locker. (Pack a Poncho if want to 2X ensure that you don’t get soaked) I know it’s cheating but I’m a dry and cozy cheater at the end of the night. There is No need to run to your hotel to change out of soaking wet clothes that’s a waste of time. Shame on you AJ/ DFB 😜I follow you guys for the advice. As for the wet clothes just put them in a plastic bag and make sure you wash them asap when you back to your hotel or home.
The best idea is to type in universal studios on your maps and go there. Walt would do the same at this point if he were still alive he probably would give universal some ideas if he came back to life to keep himself from milling himself with what the CEOs have done to his company 😂.
It really wasn't hard to figure out since Alice in Wonderland has to crawl up in certain parts of the ride and then crawl down the outside platform. Also, if you get stuck on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (somewhere around Winky's Pub and Town Square), you can hear Cheshire Cat in Tulgey Wood from Alice in Wonderland.
BEWARE of October- DLR gets a HUGE Fall break crowd! I have seen Parents from back East bawling because they had no idea Fall break was a thing and were in no way prepared for the crowds!!! Also you can get a FREE 2hour locker at Grizzly River Run so you don’t have to get your things wet (or lose them during the ride.) We always do Single Rider for Radiator Racers and 8 out of 10 times we end up in the same vehicle…
