My best tip, if you’re utilizing genie plus and are subject to the 2 hour cool down, you need to put on sunscreen every two hours so every time you book a lightning lane you also need to be reapplying sunscreen!!
That’s a great idea for the people who burn easy. I’m soooo bad at remembering when to apply while at the beach but we don’t apply in parks. My son is half Asian and luckily doesn’t need sunscreen at Disney. But this idea is super smart
Go against the crowd on rope drops. It worked great for us. At HS while everyone was running (literally) to slinky and rise...we were able to walk right on mickey railway, toy story mania, and flying saucers. Then we used genie + and lighting lane for the more popular rides
We did the same but walked on to Smugglers Run while everyone else lined up for ROR. We already had our ILL for ROR reserved and or LL for Slinky reserved. It was a *magical* start to a perfect DHS day!
I totally used the self-serve dole whip tip at Fuel at the Dolphin last month, based on a tip from an older video of yours. My husband and I literally got a dole whip there every single day! 😊
I watched a bunch of you videos before we went to Disney May 10-16 2024, Here is my feedback, I hated carrying a "park bag" probably just a guy thing but I ditched it after the first day. I used an umbrella all day it worked great in the sun and the rain. I brought a thick dish towel that I would fold up six layers thick and used to provide at least a minimal amount of cushioning on the uncomfortable bleacher style seating that is provided for so many of the shows. I purchased Genie+ every day an Individual Lightning Lane (ILL) whenever it was available. I found that stacking the most popular rides in the morning (7 AM and 11 AM) along with the ILL insured me the three most popular rides in the park. Then we start in the park with some shows or less popular rides and then after lunch we start using the 1 PM Lightning lane selection at rides/shows that had availability in the near future all the while adjusting the times on our stacked Lightning Lanes in order to minimize walking. By the time the 3 PM Lightning Lane was available I was having trouble finding anything to reserve. We find many of the rides to be unappealing and not worth ever riding again. Slow boat rides, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a small world, Living with the land and even Na'vi River Journey and Jungle Cruise fall into this category. There are also all the rides that load and unload on a conveyor belt Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, Spaceship Earth, Winnie the Pooh, Haunted Mansion. The animatronics may have been groundbreaking in the 1960s but by todays standards they are pretty lame, the worst one is the Tiki Birds. We also skip the spinning rides, Dumbo, Astro orbiter, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Triceratop Spin, Alien Swirling Saucers and Mad Tea party. The "Good" rides/shows in our opinion: All the roller coasters, Soarin' & Avatar Flight of Passage, Mission Space, Monsters Inc Laugh floor, Festival of the Lion King, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Finding Nemo, Star Tours, Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rise of the resistance, Tower of Terror, Beauty and the Beast live on stage. Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway are very similar and pretty good but would be disappointing after a long wait in line. The nighttime shows at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are pretty good but I will skip Fantasmic next time I go. We also have no interest in character meetings. Indiana Jones: Epic Stunt Spectacular is good to see once.
Lol! I just came back from WDW on Monday. I ditched my park bag after one park visit as well. I found it useless. I figured if I had a headache, blisters, etc., I would go to a 1st Aid station. The only time I drank water was with lunch, dinner. The rest of the time I drank good ole' Coke. I was fine. Didn't carry two pairs of shoes. I walked in regular crocs and croc flip flops. My feet held up pretty good. The shuttle service at Coronado Springs was not bad at all.
I'm here!! Will be back on Epcot videos for my visit later this week!! I love the flower and garden specials! Plus my Stitch magnet!! Thank you for all your tips!
Omg I’ve never been the first on your videos! Love your videos and appreciate all you guys do! Learn so much from your content. Our first Disney trip in 2019, I tried all the snacks you suggested and used so the tips and tricks. Made life at Disney with 3 kids so much more enjoyable and not as stressful
I go to Disney World on September 19th this year, so in a few weeks, and my excitement is unreal. I’ve been once before, back in 2022 but I never thought I’d get to go back and so soon. So safe to say I’ve been binging the entire DFB channel XD
Just got back from 9 days at Yacht club. Biggest tips are 1. Don't trust general wisdom on restaurants, eat where you want. We had our best experiences at the least popular restaurants, and vice versa. 2. Don't stay for night shows. Get an early start each morning before its scorching and rope drop the 830 entry. Get home before the night shows and stay someplace where you can see the fireworks from your balcony. 3. Use minnie vans. They are incredible.
Always let them know if you're celebrating something. We just stayed at Yacht club for 8 nights for our 10 year anniversary. Booked a standard view. When we arrived they upgraded us to an incredible water view
Yes! For deluxe resort guests who are using Extended Evening Hours on those select evenings when they’re available, you’ll have a THIRD chance at getting a virtual queue right at 6PM.
People bypassing the check-in counter is a HUGE mistake since the cast member would give free room upgrades(NOT guaranteed though)! But I have gotten a few pixie dusts at AOA, SSR & OKW! I didn't ask for them, but certainly appreciated each & every time :-)
I agree with the after hours ticket tip. Last year, I went to Magic kingdom for the first time, only with a halloween party ticket. the vibe / temperature was way better than you get during the day, and I rode everything in the park in the 8 hours the event went on, all for cheaper than a regular day ticket.
I'm glad to hear this! I'm taking my 4 and 6 year old for the first time and we opted for the Halloween party vs a full day ticket. I was afraid it wouldn't be enough time for magic kingdom!
Just took the 311 buss today. Ride share from Airport to All Star Music was $49. Bus ride to Springs was $2 and ride share from Springs to All Star Music was $16. Be warned 311 does take like an hour + to get to Disney Springs from Airport. You were warned.
Thank you! I’m going to All Star Music and had this question up above somewhere in the comments. Do you know if a carry on luggage is too big to take on a Disney bus ?
We use Mears from airport to our hotel. We’ve done this every year and it’s $32 per person ROUND TRIP. I personally think it’s a good deal and you don’t have to worry about luggage. The wait time isn’t bad either. Of course, it’s not as good as it used to be when it was free and they retrieved your luggage from baggage claim and it was in your room when you arrived but this is the next best thing.
@@DebiDan I take Mears when I can too, but if I start or end with a stay at Drury (good neighbor hotel that I really like), Mears can’t go there due to maxed number of hotels they are allowed to service (info from Mears). … I do a lot of split hotel trips.
Psst AJ I just noticed this but Annual Passholders can buy guest tickets with the discount for up to three people for the after-hours events. I know this because my husband and I just did for a bunch of experiences
Be aware in epcot. If you want to rope drop remmy from the yacht club entrance, you need to be there at about 745. We got there just after 8 and it was a 75 minute wait
Don't call it the chicken line -- Disney theming is great and I have gone through the lines in Everest and Space Mountain not intending to ride - but to see the queue. Another thing - I don't know if Swan/Dolphin accepts or transfers luggage on a split stay - but Shades of Green does.
I took the Chicken out elevator, not because I was chickening out, but because I have a bad heart and I am a big fan of The Twilight Zone. I wanted to see the inside, but couldn't go on the actual ride.
We have a stay at Contemporary, king theme park view 4 day park hoppers, and dinig plan. I am thinking of dropping the dining plan, seems like a lot of money for food. It does feel nice to not have to think about though. I see people get room upgrades, what would be an upgrade to theme park view at Contemporary? Is the water better?
One AKL stay we were put into the worst room possible. It was the very last savannah view amd all we saw was a fence and concrete. It was awful. We called the front desk and they moved us no questions asked to a room with an amazing view. I hate that anyone has to stay in that room.
Not sure I understood this, but you seemed to say that Space 220 Lounge doesn't have reservations (it does) and the chances of getting in without one is pretty slim!
The restaurant and lounge DEFINITELY take reservations. It’s the walk-up bar that doesn’t! But the bar’s walk-up list can still fill up quickly at the start of the day too - so you’ll want to try to get on it sooner rather than later.
My experience at Nomad Lounge x 3 is immediately at open the wait list says no availability. We get in line outside the entrance 1/2 hour before it opens and we get right in.
Sometimes they won’t open the waitlist until they do their first round of seating as walk up only. Always worth swinging by right at opening if you’re down for a lounge at 10:30am
The Lynx link 311 is very good for 2 dollars but as you said you need to think of luggage in Disney springs we were in Disney springs whole day with three bagbacks 😂 Also one thing that I faced while using online LYNX tickets 311 doesn't show up in routes so operator helped us to use 111 I was not able to convince LYNX customer care route is not coming but it was not at least till 14th May that is when I used it
If I split my hotel stay between a Disney good neighbor hotel at Disney springs and then move to another Disney resort like Polynesian, does guest services still offer the complimentary services to move our luggage to the next hotel?
At this time, Disney’s bell services only transfers luggage between their own hotels. BUT if you’re checking out of a Disney Resort to move to a Good Neighbor, you can always have bell services at the Disney hotel hold onto your luggage for ya until you’re ready to move into your next location! Your good neighbor hotel might do the same thing too - but you’ll wanna double check with them, just in case!
I lost brand new $250 ray bans in the big thunder lighting lane. Filled out the lost and found form immediately, even added a pic, but never got them back. I would recommend not taking anything nice into the parks
I'm known as the "WDW Expert" at work. I am totally transparent and tell them, my knowledge is all learned from DFB. I HIGHLY encourage everyone that ask me questions to watch DFB here on RU-vid. I owe my great WDW experiences to you all! THANK YOU!
"water bottle refill stations" is 28 characters. Even assuming you remember it and type it almost correctly, you'd do better just asking a cast member....
Shouldn’t Kamala make sure every family can go to Disney? Even us folks who worked their entire lives? We didn’t all start at the same place. My start was hard, but shouldn’t we all be able to have the same results? Who is going to pay for my family’s Disney week?
