And did you mention waterloo bridge? As you cross from south to north side, if you look left (west) you will see big Ben perfectly framed by the London eye appear between 'The Whitehouse' and the Southbank Center. And when you get half way across the river you'll see modern London to your east and old London to your west. Amazing views.
You may not be a classical music fan, but there are free lunchtime concerts in London. The main one is St James Church Piccadilly, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1.10. Another regular venue is St Olaves near Tower Hill, and another good one is at St Mary Abbott, High St Kensington every Friday, where students from the Royal College of Music get to impress you with their talents. They will usually ask for a donation at the door at all these venues, but it is not mandatory.

London born and bred and I still get amazed by all the historical sights I see, especially driving through London after a night out. Can’t beat it..💕💕💕
We have moved into London 4 months ago, though I visited London couple of times earlier, I am amazed by the sheer size and various attractions of the city. I love the parks and spend a lot of time with my children there.
Make the most of it honestly! I lived in north London for four years and didn’t make one day trip out into central at all! Literally was a 15 minute train journey that cost no more than £10 to get there and back with Oyster cards. Just take yourself off to central whenever you feel like it, even if it’s for an evening walk or a jog!
My favourite places to visit in London 1) Selfridges 2)Harrods 3)marble arch 4)China town 5) tower of London 6)Piccadilly circus 7)natural history museum 8)PRIMARK (my happy place)
This seems to be a very charming city, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Thank you for mentioning Brick Lane.. I am Bangladeshi and I know this place is worth visiting ... And also the famous Bagel 🥯 shop is here in Brick Lane ... Love London 😍
If you're in the Paddington area, you can walk along the Grand Union Canal to Little Venice. Probably better than starting from Warwick Avenue tube station.
In December we will spend our second Christmas in Covent Garden. Last year, we went in Style. This year we are on a budget. So our Edwardian Blu experience was like a dream. I’ll let you know how our severe drop in accommodations goes. I feel like it takes a lot of trips to London to really know what you are doing. The free thing we enjoyed was the square where there are preformers, and the outdoor market that has art, jewelry, etc.
Anyone who lives or has any experience in London know if there is a 2-week pass for buses/trains/subways? I'm headed to London soon. Was debating on Amsterdam vs. London but I chose London for the number of monuments and history. Was also supposed to leave 2 days ago, then today, then it got delayed because I was about to book with an unrecommended airlines company called Norse Atlantic. Found a legit one. Anyways, I've done tons of research on where to go, where to eat, mapped out the entire city of London. I've heard of the Oyster Card before. These are trains I'm familiarizing myself with - Southern (Green), Thameslink (white and colored train), and Jubilee (red train), Bakerloo, Overground, Victoria (If I'm coming from London Gatwick Airport, headed to Marylebone Station) and I'd get off around Victoria Station and take a red bus up to the Marylebone Station area. If I'm taking the Heathrow Airport, then I'm supposed to take the Heathrow Express that will end in Paddington Station or Elizabeth Line, then walk to where I'm staying, having to walk past St. Mary's Hospital and then passing around near Regent's University London. I know the UK uses as app called Bolt which is equivalent to Uber or Lyft here in the US. Is it better to use US dollars or pounds if using a card? From what I understand, main London area is in Zone 1. How much money is safe to take out to convert to pounds? Is it convenient to get a SIM card in London? Any hostels recommended to stay? Is it convenient to just walk from the Paddington Station/Marylebone area to Central London? (Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Jack the Ripper Tour, Harry Potter Tour) Are there certain areas to avoid? I've been looking around north of Hyde Park which are near well-known markets like Borough Market Markets nearby to go to: Borough Market (really damn far on the other side but want to go here more than anything) Portobello Road Market (This is closeby to me) Marylebone Farmer’s Market (This is also close enough) The Covent Garden Real Food Market (Same, closeby) Whole Foods Market Nando's being a popular fast-food chain in London. And I know, I have to try certain dishes like Fish And Chips, Scotch egg, etc These are the popular monuments and areas I've gathered to visit: - Baker Street - Borough Market (damn just realized this is the most famous markey but it is all the way on the other side of the Hyde Park area) - Buckingham Palace (to see the guards in the morning) - Big Ben - London Eye on The Queen's Walk (I have to walk across the Westminister Bridge to get here.) - Soho - Westminister Abbey - British Museum - Sherlock Holmes Museum (very close to Hyde Park) - British Museum - Kensington (heard this area is dangerous at night) - Jack the Ripper tour and Harry Potter tour sounds fun but damn they're all the way up north. (Watford area) These are other places I'd like to go but damn they're far all the way on the other side of Hyde Park: - Tower of London - St. Paul's Cathedral Places I think I'll avoid at night after doing research: - Battersea - Chelsea - Tottenham - Kensington Most likely, I'll be hanging around the Hyde Park, Marylebone, Soho areas, maybe Camden Town. If I have time, I'll try and make my way to Emirates Stadium, Wembley Stadium (This one is far) Anything else? Any help would be much appreciated. This is my first alone trip and I want to be prepared beforehand.
We're planning to spend 2 days in London before heading to Paris, this video is really very helpful as we try to balance our budget 😉 Thanks for the tip. So my homework is to find out how to get to these destinations.
You mentioned Brick Lane and the Indian food... I love a good Indian meal, but what absolutely AMAZES me is how expensive it is to eat... EVERYWHERE else in the UK. Scotland, England (Birmingham - the 'curry triangle' particularly) and Wales (although only twice). I live in London and yes, it's not cheap, but go to Brick Lane and the side streets; Wow! You can get some great deals, good food and NOT as expensive as Scotland or elsewhere! Pick your time (lunch time or early evening), walk around and look at the offers in the windows. You will get accosted by owners standing in doorways with leaflets. So much competition - wanting YOUR business. I often take relatives or friends there, after a few pints in the local and then walk around for a 'deal'. It's cheaper than outside London - how does that work???
Londoner here - born and bred. Here are some of my favourite places: Southbank, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, The National Theatre, Brick Lane, Little Venice, Hyde Park, Richmond Park, Kyoto Gardens in Holland Park. For great food places, try Brick Lane and also Ilford. Dishoom is one of my personal favourite restaurant. London Eye and London Dungeons are overrated. For the best views of the the London skyline, go to Sky Gardens which is free. Instead of going to London Dungeons, visit one of the many free museums or art galleries. Better still, go to the theatre and watch a show. The London theatre scene is unmatched. However, book tickets in advance. You can watch a play at the Globe Theatre for a mere £5!
Great video! Lots of great info! Can you do one for food broken down by category; pubs, pizza, bakeries, burgers, Thai; Chinese, Mexican, Sunday Roast, casual eats, lighter fare, etc.
This is an amazing selection of things to do! I personally love visiting the museums (my favourite has to be the V&A for the incredible exhibits) and you just can't go wrong with a gorgeous walk through one of our royal parks with a warm drink at this time of year!
British Museum is a big plus. Lots of nice sightseeing places 🤗 Go in summer or with Christmass shopping. Alone is ok but better take a friend to enjoy it more. 👋🙂
Found you in recommended videos. Very concise and good recommendations. Taking my 12-year-old for 4 days in two weeks, so hoping to narrow down what she wants to see. It will be her first time and my fourth time in London. There’s so much to do and see it can be overwhelming 😬
Thanks so much for the lovely comment - I’m sure your 12yo will have a wonderful time in London! There’s a cool Harry Potter exhibition in Covent Garden rn if she’s into that ☺️
@@girlvsglobe thanks, but she’s not into Harry Potter. My younger daughter is a Harry Potter fan, but she’s not coming along this time. In two years we’ll most likely do the same trip, if possible.
@@lou--2006 most of them are really far away from each other, but in central London, the attraction density is high enough that you even do not need to take tube
I find Oxford street is brilliant in early mornings (especially week days if you can go) as it’s pretty empty and it’s so lovely and rare to see the street all the way down 💜
@@girlvsglobe would recommend, I went this weekend and they open at 12 now on Sundays so we got there around 10 and it was lovely and empty and the was no queues so it was an added bonus. Hope you are safe and well 😁
You will love it!!! It is my city and though I have been in and around it my entire life, it never gets boring! So much to see and do and so beautiful- yeh it’s expensive but it is incredible none the less
I live in a flat in Neal's yard and its crazy how popular its become in the last few years!! I'm always torn between wanting everyone to know about how lovely it is and wanting to keep it all to myself aha
Hello dear ! Greetings from Guatemala in Central America. I just subscribed to your channel a couple of minutes ago. I've never been in UK before, but I will visit !! I love some British singers/ musicians like: Rod Stewart, Sting, Duran Duran, and my beloved rock band Queen !!!
Last time i went to London was 2019 on the Scouts annual Monopoly Run. Found ourselves on regent street totally by accident. dont think id ever seen that area of london but the architecture is just beautiful. Apparently ive also visited carnaby street. Had no clue it was a tourist attraction, i thought the signs were a one off for a celebration lmao
I am lucky enough to visit london twice before and spent almost 2 weeks there combined. Even though i'm far away from uk but definitely will visit it again after pandemic end :)
Thank you for this ! Ive got too lazy in my apartment since backpacking 12 months now ive had a new place since april... i need to see more of london!!! Im in SE london pretty much central but i know ive not seen much since its been raining so thank you!!! Il be in my sun hat and out when the rain has gone!!!
Plan visit London for my 50 bday on june so it will be a big help to us your videos thanks for all tbe tips we surely visit all this for 5 days in londom
This is my second video of yours, they’re terrific. I’m saving them in a London folder for when I visit there, can’t wait! I want to spend at least three months touring Britain, with at least 2 weeks in London.
I love Cricketer Alac Stewart, he could maintain Captaincy, wicket keeping & Batting , other my favourite cricketers are Robin Smith, Nasir Hussain, Moin Ali , Mike Gatting, Graham Gooch, Ian Botham, Naile Fair brother , Stewart Lew, Flintof, Anderson , Joe Roots, Roy ,
Slight omission re Trafalgar Square. The major picture gallery is "The National Gallery". The 'National Portrait Gallery' is much smaller although it is adjacent to the National Gallery.
Většinu z těch míst jsem navštívila 🙂 stačí se jen tak toulat ulicemi a člověk si k nim najde cestu sám 🙂 můžu jedině potvrdit, jak skvělá ta místa jsou, i když jsou zadarmo 😊
Thank you! This one was one of the most informative and well made videos for London tourism. Just I need to say that the gulf that was mentioned in the video has got a name, and it's called Persian Gulf. The great nation of Iran don't appreciate people calling it with arbitrary names to obtain the financial support of Arab countries. Thanks again, and I hope you don't mind me bringing up my point. 🙏
I am in London for three weeks in July. I am going to try all the things. I have never had a desire to go to London, but its a gifted trip, so yeah 😻I can keep being frugal.
@@waynedodds5839 I live on the West Coast of Canada. I am excited to go, even though people say it’s really expensive. I recently learned my city recently ranked the most expensive to live in throughout North America, so it should be close to the same. I am looking forward to going.
@@TY-sx3jb I really enjoyed my time. I ended up meeting locals. We ventured to Oxford and Cambridge for daytrips. One thing I would have like to have known is how many parks make you pay to use the toilet. In Canada, we do not do that. We differ with basic human rights to pee. Our lighting in park bathrooms are often blue so drug addicts can’t do drugs. Other than that, I liked the trip. Would I ever go back, probably not.
amazinngg video!! thank you!! I love deer so much and I cannot thank you enough for learning about richmond parkk! and the video is great - quick, not too long, short sayings about every place, very efficient and easy to watch :))))
I made a subscription to your channel, just because you put a board behind you that says Morocco, which is my country, and it's a beautiful background🌇
A very well presented video .. many thanks ! My wife and I are visiting London in August, so we are planning out itinerary now. We visited late in 2022 (our first time in 20+ years) and had a great time. We visited the Sky Garden and it was fantastic .. and free too. Regards from Whitley Bay
I have been to London many many times but I would love to go to trafalgar square and see Nelson's column I will imagine John Noakes climbing it like he did back in 1977
