He’s been amazing since the start of his career in Club América but mostly recognized for World Cup appearances because of playing along side world class players unlike in club. He currently plays in Serie A, played in Ligue 1, and La Liga but since he hasn’t really played in Champions League clubs or top clubs with (good defense) outside Liga MX, he hasn’t received the recognition he deserves and that’s why he stands out more in World Cup appearances because of actually having world class players at his side. He could’ve made better transfer decisions, I don’t know if it was his manager / agent or simply not enough luck but better transfer decisions could have made.

Unfortunately the deals that would have gotten him there (PSG/Arsenal) fell through and he had to settle for a lower team as no other team was looking for a goal keeper or wanted him. Also during I think the 2010 WC the coach from his club team begged Mexicos head coach to start him but it didnt happen.

@@joseangelesrojas6406 a goalkeeper isn’t just about making the saves anymore, bud. He also has to be about other aspects of soccer. Ochoa is a great 1960s traditional goalie. That doesn’t cut it during this time. And his age doesn’t matter. Look at Dino zoff or Tom Brady. If Ochoa would play out of his small area or if he was a little more decisive on the air game then hell yeah he’d be playing in England.

Did you watch his most recent game with Atalanta? So sad and still cannot believe it. Something must’ve happened to him. During the whole time I couldn’t believe it was him. Looked like totally different player. Obviously defense was terrible , but those goals wouldn’t have been a problem for him in normal condition. Maybe bad visibility due to rain, or physically not well, there must be something. It was so heartbreaking watching the game. Really hope he can get over that nightmare and shine again.

Si te fijas en los partidos de México, los rivales siempre tiran el centro al área chica, por que saben que no sale de su linea y cuando lo hace siempre la caga. Al menos los gringos y la mayoría de los de la zona ya saben que balón parado y mucha probabilidad de gol con centros cerca del área. México ya necesita un cambio y que le den oportunidades a otros jugadores en general. @@AlexisABC bro el hate creo que va para varios que no tienen la dignidad de darle la oportunidad a otros cuando saben que no están al nivel. Lo de Ochoa es debido a su inconsistencia, la neta no es un super arquero como para llevar tanto tiempo en la selección siendo el indiscutible. Si, como comentas ha salvado a la selección una infinidad de veces y claro se le reconoce. Tan se le reconoce que ahí esta, como titular indiscutible, engrandecido por una televisora que vende humo. Todos sabemos que los mundiales son punto y aparte, supuestamente sacan la garra y demuestran un poco mas, pero el nivel no se debería de demostrar en partidos selección, el nivel se debe de demostrar en el equipo con el que juega teniendo consistencia y de ahí que venga el llamado. Con Ochoa neta después de la campaña que tuvo en varios equipos de España en cualquier otro pais no le hubieran dado llamado para la selección. Lo mismo pasa con Raul Jimenez, fue un muy buen rematador y se le esta agradecido por los buenos momentos, pero desde que casi lo matan no ha regresado al nivel y no debió ir al mundial, tan mal esta que ya ni lo contemplan como cambio en los Wolves y han fichado nuevos delanteros en el equipo. Se entiende que es un mundial y todos quieren estar ahí, han soñado con ese momento desde niños, pero deberían seguir el ejemplo de Benzema que si estas sentido y existe la mínima posibilidad de que no puedas dar todo el nivel, mejor le das chance a otro que venga al 100.

México/Mexicans have a hate/love relationship with Memo Ochoa. Of course, they adore and claim him when he performs like this, especially in the World Cups. However, let’s just say his club performance leaves a lot to be desired for many Mexicans. He gets a lot of heat because he’s not consistent, which sucks, because I think he’s great.

The real reason is this. Hes a product of the team AMERICA which is pushed by televisa, so people either love or hate the club team AMERICA because they say the games are always rigged and what npt,which they are not by the way, but its the usual love hate rivalry

One thing to keep in mind is that sometimes as a keeper it is hard to see what is going on in front of you with so many players in the way. He may have just seen the ball late and didn’t react on time.
