These pictures remind me of my last cat, Manny, and his Chihuahua sister, Montana. Montana passed in October of 2018 and Manny became depressed. I had to put aside my grief to help Manny through her passing who helped me raise her. Manny passed on my lap a year later at 19. They’re buried beside each other in the back yard. Animals raised with each do have a strong bond with each other. My two cats now who are litter mates get into the usual brother sister things but they love each other. And they have different roles with me. My girl is my lap warmer, and her brother is my guardian. He’s always following me in the house to keep an eye on me and the. His sister appears so I always have one or the other with, near, or on top of me. My bedroom however is my sanctuary. They’re young still at four years old and they know how much I love and need them just like the pictures here. These animals depend on their buddies.

My 1600 lb draft mare would do the same thing, very carefully rubbing the back of a 6 oz kitten. Really miss her.
