depends on the servers. The last two I was in felt like same ole Squad. I find it amusing that these youtubers are all saying everyone is working together... BULLSHIT!
Sadly that was a shocker when i came first time to this game. It might be private and enforced servers with strict rules. idk. Public servers were always just massive team deathmatch and dying simulator. Nobody actually worked together as much, just couple of guys trying to do some communication and nobody has listened anyways.@@dronus
Dude so true. Last night I had a fight where the enemy clearly had iron sights and so did I and I initiated the fight and missed and then he shot back and pinned me so I had to move and pinned him and we did that for a while until he hit me once and I bled out bc no bandage. And that was 1v1 random encounter. I wish maps were more open to allow long range firefights. Imagine a 9v9 firefight where there are mgs bursting, marksmen trying to silence them, medica picking up dead mofos and grenadiers just blowing shit up. Would be cool.
@@HalIOfFamer thats fuckin awesome bro, the other night I had a game where a enemy heli landed near our hab, our HAT wasnt able to take it out in time so we opted for the element of surprise, we ended up getting the high ground of them from the ridgeline and started lighting them up lol, got a good amount of them until a few were able to escape into a nearby building so me and another team mate pushed in to clear the house and we used rifles, pistols, grenades. this update definitely makes the game play feel more impactful and intense. I tend to actually feel vulnerable now without atleast 1-2 other squad members with me lol. Makes fire teams 1000% more relevant now
@@prizrak636 Yeah if you want realism why don't you get someone to shoot at you while you're playing, so you have the fear of death? No? You don't respawn in real life either so unless you're a one-lifer I don't care about your realism, I care about immersion, intensity and teamwork. Thats what makes this game great. And now OWI have finally started to deliver what was promised so many years ago.
@@brendanariki I don't think you understood my comment, it's not about game should be realistic, it's about this guy saying "firefights feel like firefights" and me saying no they don't. And the only thing update does is remove the "realistic" state of the game and make everyone have broken arms and legs. Why would you play a broken bones soldier simulator
That village assault was intense. It was like watching actual combat footage! Seeing bullets tear through the wood impacts all around you as the team desperately repelled an enemy counterattack. We love to see it! Keep it up, Squaddies!
due to the fact that the sights are now useless. Look at the play of the guy playing as a Russian with the AK12, he rarely used the scope. Squad became CS2
I absolutely love how well fire superiority works, now that suppression is a thing. Suppression encourages fire escalation, which sucks in larger and larger caliber weapons. It's a rock paper scissors effect that naturally unfolds as players instinctively throw more lead at each other. Teamwork has never been more effective and satisfying in this game. We're in a Squad Renaissance right now.
I dont think it's dividing there community per say. I think it's purging it. And only people who want to play the real squad will stay. Which let's face it, the game is now closer to it's forgotten image than it's ever been...
Well, well, well. I just finished this video and you were not joking. This is one of the best videos yet. Haven't been this interested in squad videos in a while. This update makes it better as viewer alone.
The player base that wants to work together will grow and become more proficient and the crowd that hates this stuff will fall away but overall I think this will be great for the game long term. Possibly even one of those games that sticks around for a long while
There's not enough. The server count dwindled big time. Over the weekend there were about 20 servers full and 10 servers that weren't and five of those were seeding.
@brendanariki there was around 10k players last year in Dec up until July 2023 and now there's only 8k players starting in August. There was legit like 20 Chinese servers for awhile and now there's one or two. The only moded servers that are up have been two with galactic intervention for awhile. Escalation mod hasn't been updated for months. Player count and server count have been dwindling.
@@dronus what server list are you looking at? finding non chinese servers is genuinely a difficult task since there are so many cluttering up the browser lol
@@dronus going from this time a year ago. the palyer count is up. Your checking the peaking 10k an ignoring the dips in between and before them. February, March and April, a period of three months within the december-july your talking about had roughly 9k, which is what it has continued to be recently. Summer and Winter sales often bring in a group of new people and by extention, the months between them often show as dips. You cant just look at the peaks. And if what your saying is true about chinese servers, than thats honestly more impressive that its keeping trend if it is losing a major asian market, and would suggest that either server location doesnt matter as much to people, or that they have made signifcant gains in the other geographical markets to cover the lost players. Though, i dont really believe what your saying anyway. I am seeing just as many full servers if not more.
Now, forgetting about how demanding it would be, imagine this with an ambience sound system, similar to 6 Days in Falujah and UE5 graphics. This game would hit perfection.
For graphics, you have to consider how many players are on the same map at the same time in 6DiF? How big are the maps in comparison? The 100 v 100 aspect of squad, and huge maps, limits the graphics a bit. Sound though is another matter and Post Scriptum sound is proof it can work (it used the same engine and all).
LITERALLY just started squad today, and I have to say that this game and its community is amazing, the coordination between squads, the noob-friendly environment, the banter, and much more have sparked a love for milsims that i never had before. This shit is way better than Arma 3, thats for certain. (controversial statement, but i'm sick and tired of hearing Russians and Ukrainians arguing in chat for the entire game, whilst I either get teamkilled or bombed to hell by CAS).
ICU update is great overall, I had a blast and found it easier to flank and bound, I think the insurance might need a slight buff to match the irregular militia and the g3 rifles need a major buff as they’re way to difficult against low recoil AK and AR rifles
Militia feels fine after their recent overhaul, they have plenty of M16s and AKs, I feel that Insurgents need better options. They only have like one 5.45×39 rifle, wish they got some M16s and AK-74us as well Though I wish militia got the iron sights AK-74 back for rifleman, I miss that thing
It's been literal years since I last played this, figured now would be a good time to come back and man... so much has changed. Last time I played vehicles weren't even a thing 😖
In my thousands of hours of playing this game I've only had this happen a few times but when it does oh man. It's the most fun I've had in a video game by far.
I experienced this in PR some years back. Absolutely steamrolled the enemy team, when ALL of the team was working together. Happened on the tacticalgamer server.
can you make a video on the best graphics settings for squad? now that they have updated the graphics and etc the other guides are no longer up to date
MoiDawg’s settings still work as a decent benchmark IMO, all I did was adjust my settings off of his recommendations to get my setup going. That being said, I could still probably optimize more than 20 FPS at max load with a Ryzen 2700 and RX 5700 XT but I digress.
man i wish i could find these types of squads in the game, i struggle to find a good communitive squad in game, i hopped on a server, asked the squad i joined what do they need, the squad lead replied just get in the game and shoot, i wanted a more diverse squad to play in, if i find a group of good guys to play with, i think we could take over a server easily from the team work cause teamwork is so few and far in between would be easy to overcome anything any other squad has in the game
The youtubers who show these type of coordinated servers are probably ones you have to join a discord for. There's still squads doing what they want and lone wolfs like myself that just want kills. The only things that's changed is the pace of the game.
Bro, i met some one with name "squadleader nklai" on a server he was really anggry just because small thing. I thoght it was you, thanks god you name yourself friendly nklai in games Lol
I just played about 4 matches : I had 3 main issues ... 1) my FPS sometimes stutters from 60 (my screen) to 8 for a second. Never had that before in Squad (after much testing, it does not seem at all related to graphics nor FPS). Oh, and I moved the game from SSD to HDD, but not sure that is the real cause. 2) I feel like I am running with a heavy bomb squad suit : I feel heavy and sluggish even holding the sprint key. 3) the scopes can take a few seconds sometimes to actually see anything, which may be a good thing, but I end-up playing often without them (again, maybe a good thing). EDIT: after many matches, my opinion is that some scopes take too long to see anything, they dim the lighting a lot, and so I find the effects a bit too much).
Follow-up : it seems most of the stutter was my GPU throttling itself due to my own settings, which had power set to a goal of 85% (what I call relaxed mode, aka energy saving). In short, Squad now requires more juice than before.
Well, I have always asked for low speed and stamina bar line that affects your handling like in PR. It definitely slows down the gameplay and makes it more tactical of the majority of players, however, this does not fix the issue of solo players at all as Squad Leaders don’t manage their soldiers…. 😢
