I've had several talks with my cat and she swears to me that she is only a recreational/medicinal nipper. She says that it's not a problem, she has total control and knows what she's doing, and all that typical stuff that they always say. As a parent though I of course can't help but worry and try to keep an eye on her to make sure that her nipping doesn't get out of control and that she doesn't become a nip head. I would never be able to forgive myself if she lost control and became a dirty nip whore out on the streets in a back alley somewhere!
One day we got a phone call from a vet. They'd found Santa (our cat) dead, suffocated on his own vomit... He overdosed on kittamine. So watch out. Yours can still be saved. RIP Santa🙏
It seems to be a stimulant at first, but they crash pretty quickly and mellow out. Also, it might take a few tries before some cats can appreciate the stuff, then again some may never care for it.
I have a few hundred catnip plants in my herb garden. We have a few dozen stray cats in my immediate neighborhood. There have been no rodents in my neighborhood in years.
I had one cat that would get so high off 1/2 tsp that after 10 minutes or so, she'd be unable to move, almost comatose on the floor with her eyes fully dilated. Pretty sure one of those pans would have killed her.
It seems to me that cat's like it better if you just sprinkle a few ounces on a rug or carpet so the cat can massage & rub itself into it. It vacuums up very easy 😻😻
I stuff fake mice and other cat toys into a jar of nip and leave them for a few days. When I take them out my cats mob me trying to tear them out of my hand. After they lose interest due to the scent dissipating, I put them back in until the next day of play.
The 3rd car was in hog heaven having a blast. The last group of kitties were enjoying themselves so much. CiCi was thrilled avid Vincent didn't want anyone in his nip he said "I only have a tiny tiny bit I can't share"lol. So cute thanks for sharing
Now they're going to be breaking into the neighbor's houses to steal things to sell to buy more catnip. If you someday find them snorting it in lines it'll be all your fault, you kitty corrupter! LOL
my mom and dad didnt have any weed back in the 60s. they tried smoking catnip, didnt get high. but the 9 cats DID. it was like watching cartoons in your house.
I always have to laugh when cats and catnip mix. I had 1 of my cats that made a shameless tart out of herself and I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard. My other two cats could care less about the whole thing...got THAT STUFF in their fur, sooo undignified. Watched the Lion Whisperer one day when he tried some on his big lions. Yup, they did get the same way our cats get...loopy & goofy.
@@mister0zorg it's not even the chinese flag. it's just a generic communist flag. could be the communist party flag of any number of countries, but not the Communist Party of China as they position the hammer and sickle in the top left. this isn't someone celebrating a country, but an oppressive ideology. tbh i never understood why everyone is cool with recycling a symbol that originally represented the USSR when it should carry the same negative connotation the swastika does.
@@XxXMrSisterFisterXxX Whatever I didn't noticed a flag anyway, I was looking at the cat. But to your question about the reason: since Russia invade and bombe cities in Ukraine like human didn't learned from the past, nothing is surprising me about stupidity anymore.
@@mister0zorg Problem? That they have access to and the money to afford that much catnip, transportation, roads that are kept up, internet, phones, etc etc because of Capitalism and preach Communism. That's the problem. Oh, and they're FREE to go live in a Communist country, see what happens if they fly an American flag.
Just need to invite all the cats from the neighbourhood to hang out for a meowjana partaaaay!!😻 Also, maybe next time spread the containers out so the cats have space from each other to avoid chasing each other off/fighting or use a child’s paddling pool to give them space from each other.
What about the cats attracted to the catnip all over the street that appeared to be left behind. I can imagine some neighborhood cat rolling in it as traffic bears down on it.
Where and God's name do they sell bags that size of catnip? I never ever saw bags that big ever!! I was just reading the other day that there at there is a gene in Cats that make them either like catnip or not like catnip. 50% of cats have the I love catnip gene and the other 50% don't. That is why some cats like catnip and some don't. Both my cats have the gene and they like Catnip!
I'm wondering how you could grow that much at a time without getting invaded by every feline in the area from miles around. I am trying to grow some right now. when I had a plant years ago my cat would eat some and just sit and drool. it was so fresh.
I was wondering the same thing. I mean most places sell it in a small 2 oz bag or something. More than enough for a handful of cars for a good while. A bag this big is insane
It's been proven that there is a specific genome that not all cats have that make them go crazy for catnip, that's why not all cats are effected by it.
No I would say they do. The orange cat was rubbing his head in it. That’s what my cat does with his cat nip toys. Cats that don’t react just basically walk away. They don’t even try to sniff or eat it definitely not rub there head in it or roll around. Hose cats were definitely affected.
@@dawnpiper5883 He, he he. That area would not have cages around the plants. I'd just plant a patch big enough the cats in the neighborhood couldn't wreck them all.
Ask and I shall try to answer, using Google. "You can trust this content. VET-APPROVED CONTENT Can Cats Overdose on Catnip? Catnip generally is harmless - and, no, cats cannot overdose on it. However, they CAN get sick from eating a large amount of catnip. Let me explain… By Dr. Debora Lichtenberg, VMDDec 31, 2019 Can cats overdose on catnip? Can cats overdose on catnip? Photo: John Most cats love catnip - and the good news is that catnip is safe. The occasional use of catnip is safe and recommended as a lifestyle enhancer by feline experts and behaviorists. But can cats overdose on catnip? No. However, reactions can occur. We’ll discuss this below, so keep reading. What Is Catnip? Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is a perennial herb of the mint family. Nepetalactone is an essential oil (and the main ingredient in the plant that is attractive to cats). It’s also called catmint, catsup, catwort, nip, new and field balm, and most of these names come from the plant’s obvious attraction to cats. Catnip causes neurologic changes in cats and is considered a mild hallucinogen. Catnip’s effect on cats is best defined as a nonaddictive recreational drug for cats. That being said, some people believe chronic exposure to catnip may cause an apparent loss of mental faculty in their cat. Common sense dictates catnip should be used occasionally. The overall recommendation is to offer your cat a small amount of fresh catnip every 2 weeks or so. Catnip toys are safe, and most cats lose interest in the toy after a few minutes. If your cat seems obsessed with the toy, take it away after 10-15 minutes and give the cat a rest. Pleasurable Olfactory Stimulant (Translation: It Smells Good) Cats use their sense of smell to perceive and interpret their world to a far greater degree than humans do."
Ya see... that poor cat at the end is a prime example of what excessive nipping can lead to! Rolling on the dirty ground all night trying to get every last crumb and speck that they can after someone throws out their used nip scraps! It's a long and sad road to watch a cat go down. Hopefully it will find some help.
Never know how a cat will react to that first catnip trip. 😻✌sniff that stuff. Whoa. That's goooood stuff hooman. I is feeling meowlow. OK I sleep good all day.
I was going to make some comment about "cat ladies" UNTIL I saw that vicious Ninja blade appear out of nowhere.(Are you planning to make a similar experiment with humans and 50 pounds of weed by any chance?)
Afroman sitting on the sofa nearby singing "I was gonna eat some tuna, then I got high, I was gonna lick my tail, then I got high, I was gonna use my tray, then I got high, ba ba ba ba da da da da da then I got high then I got high then I got high" that 3rd kitty, should be named Snoop Catt, he's really into the green!
It's nice to meet you, friend. That was some serious fun! Neffy would have been rolling in it, he loves catnip. It's funny because the two cats that I had before him could take it or leave it. But him, he loves it! Your kitties definitely seemed to enjoy it, especially your long-furred calico! I wish all of you a happy day and continued success on your channel. :)
🤦 Please take note: 🚫 All who give their cat's or other animals catnip. Please "mist" down the catnip. Catnip can be very dangerous to animals nasal cavities it can get lodged and stay there for a very long time where a vet visit is called for. There is a large amount of dust and small debris that comes from catnip always mist water on before the animal consumes the catnip.
It’s like “Cat Coachella!” You wake up tomorrow morning and every cat within 100 mile radius will be in your front yard and driveway!!!!! Remember the Stephen King Movie called “Cat People”? It’s just like that!!! How fun!!!!
