nice you got manhunt on there! how well do the katamari games work? thanks for going the extra mile with the video and timestamps you sir are a gentleman and a scholar 🍷
My concern for Katamari is when you get past 3rd or 4th level, at this point even on the more powerful Odin Pro it became unplayable. Waiting for my RG405M to arrive in a week or two.
Seems like it's mostly fighting games that struggle, which is good because I don't really do fighting games lol. Thanks for this and your GameCube one, too, they're helping influence me to go for this system.
I just ordered mine last week during the sale. Thanks for posting your settings in the comments. I saw in a couple videos that dielectric grease will fix the sticky buttons. Hoping it'll prevent the scratching too.
Were all these tests done in the regular performance mode of GammaOS? If so I got a new idea for your next vid. Hold L1+R1+Right stick in, until you see Max performance mode enabled, then perform all the same PS2 game tests. You should notice better performance but your battery drain will take a toll.
Wow! A lot of the games looked really good! The slow down in some games wouldn't deter me from enjoying them. I have a Steam Deck and it does all the PS2 games I've tried perfectly, but this is a PS2 in your pockets. Plus I always love the metal handhelds more than the plastic ones.
Depending on the game, play with: EE Cycle Rate- 50%/60%/100% EE Cycle skip - mild underclock (1)/max overclock or leave default Multithreaded VU1 - check Instant VU1 - check Vulkan 1.25x Native upscale Enable Widescreen patches Some games work better with frame limiter turned off too
Scareface the world is yours was pretty bad for me no what what i did, same with BLACK had to be underclocked to even get a decent frame rate. Great video thank you
Hey! Great video, In theory the performance here should be equal to the new RG405V I assume? Also, can you test how Road Trip Adventure runs on this console?
So how does it compare to the RP3+? That got an update a few months ago as well. RP3+ is higher resolution, so which has the advantage in PS2 emulation?
I've made a recent comparison review of all the t618 handhelds. RP3+ is great after the update and has a great screen too. I love the premium feel of the rg405m (I suggest changing the face buttons though) and I love its pocketable size. Both have almost similar advantages with the updates, and you won't be disappointed with either one of them.
Wow so much better than my Retroid 3+.... Wish we had custom FW as well. 😊 Can you please make a video on how to install this? Just in case I want to get this or the 505.
Really nice video, you tested any other game of the jak and daxter trilogy or only the first one? I need to know how they works and i haven't find any information about, anyone know something?
I have installed Gamma OS too but don't get framrates quite like the ones displayed in the video on my RG405M. I want to play the NFS series which seems to be flying on their system compared to mine. What emulator/ settings are they using and are they different for each game?

Nicely done on the content. I'm experiencing an issue with battery consumption while using gammaos. It seems that the battery doesn't last for up to 2 hours even when using it for GBA usage in normal mode. Have you encountered a similar issue? I also read, the battery needs to be calibrated first after unlocking bootloader
Thanks for your comment! :) Well, I haven't tried playing much on normal mode, mostly on performance mode most of the time. Maybe you can try switching to battery saver mode and see how that goes.

Thank you for sharing! Sadly I missed out on the download before it was removed. Do you have a list of the settings you used to tweak some of the harder to run games? I’m gonna set mine up with Nethersx2 this week and I can’t wait!
Can you share your settings with Ratchet and Clank? I have Gamma OS installed but it runs slow most of the time. I also have it stored in a Samsung evo plus sd card. Thanks!
@@bigretrostudio cool! I'm not sure about the settings and what it does so it would be great to have that tutorial! I look forward to it :) some more questions i have is does the sd card have an impact, what gamma os version, and does the settings apply to RG405v and RG505. Thanks!!!

From what I heard at least from Tekken TT is that it's an early launch game title. Devs weren't fully able to use the VUs of the PS2 instead mostly rely on the Emotion Engine for everything. It worked fine on the PS2 but the Pcsx2 uses the CPU to emulate EE so you need a more powerful CPU to run EE intensive games. Don't quote me on this though. tl;dr Tekken TT and some other games use EE more which requires a more relatively beefy CPU to emulate.

Is there absolutely no way to broadcast this onto a tv? I really loved this model besides the fact supposedly you can’t stream it and play on a bigger tv :/
My Favorites For PS2 Are Crash Bandicoot The Wrath Of Cortex Crash Of The Titans Crash Mind Over Mutant Cartoon Network Racing The Red Star Rumble Racing Vampire Night
That BUT makes it complicated, if you want ps2 to run well, get odin 2 or retroid pocket 4 pro. If you want something pocketable with a lot of ps2 games playable(not all), then go for retroid pocket 2s
It's a shame watching those 4 buttons get all scratched up against that metal. All they need to do is add a thin Teflon bushing for the buttons to rub against. If they ever fix it then I'll buy but I can't bring myself to spend $150 on such an oversight.
Check out retro game corps video for installation, these is considerable differences in many games compared to my stock os game test video. Please check that out too.

@@bigretrostudiothanks for the advice, its strange, I have all the same settings and have tried various other settings but cant get it to play as well you did. Quite frustrating because its the only game i wanna play😂

DMC3 would get stutters on stage 2, 3 and onwards on a relatively more powerful chip in kirin 980. Sadly I don't know how to tinker the settings. Imma still get this device tho in November
By how much would you say gamma os improves the performance??? Also will you do a video on KTR1 Wii performance. Plz do one "100 Wii games on KTR1" that would be a banger.
