I'm 66 years old. I started out with 5 pushups and worked my way up to 42 without stopping with proper form. It took me 8,000 pushups to get to that level. My goal is two sets of 50 with proper form per day.
Hi it's really inspiring, I'm also starting with sMe number, now working my way up to 40 , can you share some tips on it. I'm doing only one set per day, in order to slowly adapt rather than draining the energy, your experience could be helpful, thanks.
@@rf_wbg#1 tip go slow, but do it ever day 7 days a week. Do NOT skip days for any reason unless you're in bed with the flu. Do not allow yourself to get sore. Just a little bit otherwise you will quit. It took me 2 1/2 months to work up to 100 per day spread out over the whole day. Then I kept it at 100 per day but started shortening the time. I got to 5 sets of 20 then 4 sets of 25 then a 33,33,34 then at 20, 40, 40. Now, at present I am at 25,50, 25. Yep I can do 50 clean pushups without stopping and I will be 67 in 2 weeks. I couldn't begin to do that when I was 25 and thin as a rail. I have lost weight but I am still 20 pounds over weight. If I get the weight off I could probably do 75 without stopping. I have done 12,000 pushups over almost six months far, far more then in my entire life before. Here is something important....yes I look better without a doubt, but where it does wonders is your heart. Fantastic combination exercise that works every muscle group at once especially your heart. As to you, don't do just one set per day because you need to warm up. So if you do 20 break it down to five sets of four, but someday get eventually up to 100 at your pace. Then shorten the time. I can do 100 now in 5 minutes. That used to take all day and it took 2 1/2 months to get to 100 over the whole day!! Trust me with one thing, your heart will thank you. I feel so much better in every way. Your heart, NOT your muscles will determine what you can do. That's why go slow, but every day. It takes no equipment and can be done anywhere anytime. Let me know your progress. Good luck. Ps. My goal is one warmup set of 25 followed by a one minute rest and then a clean non-stopping set of 75 !!! Oh yea! Oh, one more thing....do NOT eat at all for three hours prior to do your sets. Even a little food makes it much harder on your heart and will reduce your performance. I also found my peak performance is when I am well rested and ate then three hours later did my sets.
Even my PE techer not able to do 1 push up...He wanted to do a push up duel with me. I did 38 with perfect form,he did 40 with bad form...And he insulted me for that...It's a shame for a teacher I think
Week one max: 25 Week five max: 42 Edit: Im on 52 push ups now, after the 5 week workout finished, I just kept doing push ups randomly throughout the day lets go😊
@@nikitaw1982 keep your elbows in, don't let them go far out to the sides, that's where injury occurs You can also work on strengthening your rotator cuffs with band exercises, like standing and keeping your elbows down your sides, arms bent 90° , and pulling band in towards your stomach with hand for one workout and from stomach to out for another workout
@@anilkulkarni2297 you can tell he's smart by the way he speaks tbh, his content has no fluff, its concise af. It also shows how much info he's giving you, because speaking concisely for even 1 minute is hard, but he does it consistently.
I'm in my 3rd workout, I could barely do 11 push ups at the beggining, the progress of this program is INSANE, and now I'm making 10 without even feel it. Thank u Daniel!!
Did you stick with it? I want to know if just doing push ups what other exercises to stop your shoulders rounding forward, stop any pain developing. dead hangs at least?
I tried about a year ago with HORRIBLE form and I hit 50 easily, then after completely relearning the push-up and how to do it correctly it's taken me months to even get a good 25 in one set. Now today, I finally hit 50 in one set with GOOD form. Thanks for your top quality videos, you help me on a daily basis! mad love.
failure is when you "fail" at the last rep, so you can't do anymore. to train "short" of failure is to train a few reps before reaching failure. eg: failure = 25 reps train to = 22 reps
Saw this a month ago and have been doing this pushup progression every second day since and I can tell you it works!! Started off with 20,15,10,10,10,5 with the mentioned 1-2 mins of rest in between the sets. Progress was slow at first but just as of today I was able to do 35,20,15!! Thanks for the great video!💪🏻
my push ups for 50 in a row werent bad. I would call them proper push ups. the push ups were easier as i was having my arm distanced and my arm going down wasnt 45 degrees meaning my shoulders couldve gotten damaged. I do like 20 in a row from the push up of this video with 45 degree arm and arms carrying more of my weight.
I'm in support of this because some friends i met at the gym are investors of Lisa Michelle Pacillas, however I learnt that you ought to settle on a decision from many benefits assets to place it in and the Public authority doesn't have anything to do with it. Since states are great at spending - not saving...As businesses expand globally, they often require consulting services to navigate international markets, regulations. i have built a long-term relationship with a financial analyst and I'm in steady stream of income
I comprehend this Classical point of view on economies and globalization however the generally accepted fact is somewhat basic at its center: "Globalization" isn't something that anybody controls as we can't pick regardless of whether we live on a similar planet. We as people need to cooperate to make better circumstances on this planet for us all, regardless of whether we like it. You can't get away from this dynamic, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my 100k brokerage portfolio, curious on the most productive means to take advantage of the current situation...I am open to ideas
Strategising might be quite rigorous for the regular. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by experts who have a great deal of skillset managing a financial portfolio, I’ve been on both end of the spectrum investing on my own for about years, did my own study and analysis before actually buying, things became rather difficult not until a colleague introduced me to my current financial analyst. She has helped me convert my 150k portfolio into 500k
You're really making sense, I have colleagues at work that have tried placing trades in stocks and crypto for a while now but it is just to labyrinthine at first. Could you please divulge some more info, I mean your fA?
I work with "LISA MICHELLE PACILLAS" You can easily look her up online. She has years of financial market experience and she is also FINRA & SEC verifiable.
Thanks for this tip, found her just after inputting her full name on my browser, seems impeccable and shows a great deal of expertise with over two decades of experience with reviews from her clients all over the world
I can do 40 push ups in a row. Aiming for 100 in a row. I am 16 and when i was 15 I was unable to do push-ups but yes consistent efforts made me improve
@@edoerxd6489 in a row is a set, every series of 3-4 numbers is a day of the week. So first day in week 1 is a set of 20, tiny break, set of 20, tiny break, 15, break, 15, done. Breaks are usually 1 minute of active rest (active rest means standing up not sitting)
i was like you , everyday i did push ups day by day i did more push ups first time i just did 7 push ups but now i can do 30 it's all about after 1 month
32 and I’ve been working at it for a while and feel like I’m plateauing. Can do sets of 25 and can do over 100 over the course of a workout but 30 has me gassed. Hope this helps!
Hey guys! I'm currently 18 y.o. and my max single set reps are 5. My short term goal is 20. Long-term is 35. 18/10/2021 06:38 a.m. , about to start the first training session. I'll split it into exact same logic sequence but with lesser numbers; 3 4 5 8 (20)
Same, my arms were way too wide, i wasn't going all the way down, and my back wasn't very straight. I've been doing them correctly and I can do like 20 with my chest basically touching the floor.. Aiming to get better though 50 is my goal
I did 80 two weeks ago for the first time at 56 years old now in moving towards typewriter pushups and pseudo pushups and trying to some day master a planche.
I started this program at the beginning of the year and today I have reached the 50 total reps in one set, with a decent form. Now I would like to do it with a perfect one. I also noticed that resting on one straight arm and shaking off the other one and vice versa allows doing a few more reps without cheating. Drinking coffee and opening the window also helps.
@@Marco-sm9bu year before about 28 while doing other push up workout, but just before doing this program I could probably do 10-15. I followed this program above patiently doing about 3 workouts per week to (sometimes two because laziness) to the point I was fully rested. I adjusted the number of reps in one set to match the total 70 reps. I probably started with 7X10 with always two minute rest. Then 6x11+4 etc. This way I could do about 1-2 more max pushups per set per week. When I reached the 20 reps in a row in a set i followed the routine suggested in the tables in the video. I also always tried to do a full range of motion without cheating. Sometimes I couldn't do as much reps in one set as it was required so I stopped for a while then continued. After doing 35-40 in a row things are starting to get harder and progress became a little bit slower. Don't forget to take your proteins and being patient. Also chest can grow a bit from totally flat to a less flat. The coffee gives a more energy and opening the window allows more air to breathe since I coudn't say I can breathe freely while doing pushups. I also didn't expect instant results. If you want to know more, ask.
My Goal is to get to 40 January 30th: 7 Pushups Row February 4th: 15 Pushups Row February 20th: 20 (Been busy this month so I haven't been doing as many) March 1st:32 April 10th:42 (haven't done alot since I was busy )
I am 57. My first attempt was 7 sets of 10 reps ( probably the first time I ever done proper form ) I rested a max of 2 mins between sets. On the last set I could only do 8, I got up to rest a little bit before doing the last 2. In two days time, I will do the same, set sequence but reduce the rest time by 10 secs.
2 likes= 3 push-ups I’ll do in a timelapse Edit: currently there are 118 likes, I hate you all 😂 I will stop it here, because 177 push-ups in one sitting for me is insane. Every time another 118 likes are added, that will be an additional timelapse video made at one point
MY Man Daniel, I am 73 and I have been working my way up to 50. Right now I can do 40 in a row but my left elbow is starting to have some crackling in it , so I have backed off. I know I can reach 50 but I do not want to develop an injury.
Same here bruh I was able to do 0 Then with the help of doing 100 knee push-ups a day , I was able to do 5 push-ups in a row in 22 days and then I trained harder and was able to do 22 in a row But now cuz of a wrist injury,i am back to 14-15
I'm gonna take this up a notch. My goal is to reach 100 push ups in a row. Starting off max: 31 After Week 1: Week 2: Week 3: Week 4: Week 5: Week 6: Week 7: 42069, sorry guys I did so many pushups in the past 6 weeks I lost count and got sucked into Jeff Cavaliere's alternate timeline.
I started doing pushups when this video was posted 5 years ago and never stopped... no sleep.... no food.... just pushups. 3,219,103,192,138 pushups in a row.
Do as much as you can in 4 sets until ultimate failure such that your body falls down without you knowing Then after 1-2 min stretching do pushups in an inclined plane until failure And most importantly give one day for us muscles to rest
RESULTS: WEEK1 DAY1 WEEK5 DAY3 12 ---> 20 10 ---> 20 10 ---> 15 10 ---> 15 10 10 5 3 8 SETS ---> 4 SETS Even though I thought I knew how to do push ups, no I didnt :-) Now its getting better Thanks Daniel, much appreciate your work!
Thanks Man, now I can feel that my chest and triceps are actually working more, just changing the elbow position... before with the wrong position I was able to do 30 reps, now 8-9 (just started)!
Omg that's too much from 30 to 9? Even me am a weakling and I used to do around 35 40 not so perfect pushups but I can guarantee I can do atleast 20 perfect pushups.. BTW I am also working on my pushups I started by doing around 15 in the month of July and I set a target for myself that's 50 pushups by December this year but now I can do 42 not so perfect pushups but like I said earlier 20 perfect form pushups shouldnt be hard..
@@kasei4023 Don't worry bro it's totally up to you if you wanna increase your pushup reps.. If you can do only one you will do atleast five in one week if you practice
@@BrawlStars-xy7gj no matter if you are overweight or you have not much muscle. It takes dedication thats it. Do cardio every second day and try to push yourself. If you can only do 2 pushups then try to do 3 and thats it for the day. When you feel comfortable doing 3 do 4 and always increase the reps. Another way faster method is to benchpress but that requires a gym membership or if you have the tools at home, there you go
I used to care about big rep numbers in one set, then realized it was pointless anyway so now I'm just doing modified versions (also with weights added) in order to keep the reps as low as i can (ideally 10-12). A total of 130-150 push-ups done at high load in low rep sets has worked wonders so far in overall muscle development and strength. Endurance will go up slowly as well. At the moment i can do about 60 regular strict form in a row, but i just did that benchmark as a curiosity quite recently.
Pushups, once per week (modified to simulate either heavy or light loads). I usually end one push up session with either triceps or biceps sets to tire out the arms completely. After that, upper body is toast for 2-3 days and i have to focus on other exercises. I also do train pull-ups, yes, but not as often since i don't have a pull-up bar at home. But there are many other exercises to do for back/lats in between when i get to do pull up sessions.
30 push up is my max. On my good day, I could do it without resting. Some day, I rest at around 20 or 25, but not on my knees or elbows, just staying in the planking position for a second or two before continuing.
4 months old and I can deadlift 1843kg and do 600 push ups 608 sit ups. But back in my days i was able to lift the Earth but gravity prevented me from doing that now
Hey guys i need help. You see week 1 was good but on week two i cannot do 25 push ups in the 2nd sets. I can do about 15-20 on the second. Plz help me.
And this is where you just say 'Good Job' Keep it going. You'll keep progressing. Sure, you can try do hundreds of pushups, but who knows. You might be little, you might be big. If you're proud of where you're at, don't stop, and keep feeling good about yourself. I remember 2 weeks ago and I couldn't even do 1 clean pull up. Now i can do 5 before I max out. Haven't counted my pushups tbh. BUT GOOD JOB!
No. Or if you do make sure it lower body when you do pushuos it uses many of your upper body muscles and if you say do biceps the next day or chest or triceps or even abs youll be reusong muscles that are still recovering. You can do this howver if you want mass as well as endurnce id say no. If you dont care about mass and only want to build strengrh and endurnce than do a light workout in between and try to avoid any muscle group that is sore at all. If you stretch and feel a twinge you need more recovery time.
12 push ups in one go and i'm 25. My goal is to reach 50 push ups, 15 pull ups(can do 5 now) and 5 pistol squats(can do 0). For the gym my goal is to bench 100kg for 5 reps (can do 50kg for 5 right now).

Yeah Bc everyone does goals for example now my goal is 50 so I would work for that and if I can’t do 50 and I stop st 47 something like that I try to reach 50 it won’t take long
since i started on calisthenics i always payed attention to nice good form exercises. at my start i was doing about 12-15 reps per set. sometimes that i really challenge myself i can go up to 50 good form push ups and today, after 1 year my sets is about 30 reps in a row. thank u fitnessfaqs, im always with u as my support ✌
I've been starting off again after too long of a break, doing 10 sets of 10 reps. But now doing 3 sets of 15, then dropping down to 10 reps until I can't do anymore sets. Trying to do a little bit more each session. Today did 112 in 10 sets.
Also love your profile name and pic! Too funny! But if you ask the “real” Joe, he’ll tell you he could do them, one handed, while punching out Donald in the alley. In the meantime, good luck with the 55 sets 😜!
