SRI LANKA has such a diverse history of occupation forces plundering the resorces of the country and its people but they still smile and are gratefull and appreciative of tourists and the aid provided to its beautiful and welcoming tourism ,I LOVE MY MOTHERLAND FOREVER .
Thank you for archiving and sharing these priceless photos. The picture depicted as a "Street in Colombo" is actually "Colombo Street, Kandy" photographed from the Natha Devale end The picture is probably from the 1960's going by the Licence plates of the cars. Thank you again
These photos, if taken about 200 years ago, must be quite extraordinary and predate Fox-Talbot in England and Louis Daguerre in France by at least 13-15 years.
the oldest photographs in the world was taken in 1826 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce. Here this stupid idiot Manel Rebera is showing a photo of a man sitting on elephant saying that it was taken in 1818 HA. HA HA. Anyway it is common sense when you look at the clothing and styles that these were taken in the early 1900's
The photographic camera: While the invention of the camera draws on centuries of contributions, historians generally agree that the first photographic camera was invented in 1816 by Frenchman Joseph Nicéphore Niépce.
