He is a magician from the baseline, but once he comes to the net, he becomes the wizard in front of who everyone bows down to, including his peers! The Greatest Showman in the History of Tennis, Roger Federer✨

Some people mistakenly say Federer isn't one of the best volleyers for to his success percentage. The truth is that the only reason that's not higher is because he volleys balls normal players wouldn't dare try to volley. His ability to take the ball out of the air is unreal.

John Mc Enroe was a great player,but...😂
@kenkozawa9810
@kenkozawa9810 6 месяцев назад
The story isn't that simple. Rafa's wrist doesn't get limp on his forehand volley like Roger can sometimes get so I can see where McEnroe is coming from, Rafa does have actually proper technique but he will never venture into the net like Roger, who we all know has more skill around the net. Either way, they both have a 10000 x better overhead than Novak 😂

well he is an old school player afterall. his may have switched to a more baseliner style as the game changes due to equipment and court surface, but his skills as an old school player are still there. old school tennis used to be dominated by serve and volley, players had to be great at the net. thats why federer is leagues above any of the players he competed with when it comes to net play

@stefanmoravcik598
@stefanmoravcik598 2 года назад
In my opinion, one of Federer's ultimate classics. Volleying from 1 meter or so inside the baseline? What kind of alien shot is that? It's not even a volley, it's not even a dropshot, it's simply Roger's very own shot. Tennis creativity at it's absolute Federerest!
@stefanmoravcik598
@stefanmoravcik598 2 года назад
Btw, you know what's so special on this shot? Whereas a guy like Kyrgios or Monfils would play it purely as a trickshot, maybe even adding some showboating to it, Federer played it as a normal, regular ball that he thought of as a natural, logical conclusion to the rally. That's what sets him apart from the rest of the world.

Why would you?! We're blessed with a new generation with unlimited ego and eagerness, combined with some uncontrolled aggression and frustration over their incomplete skills. All is good. Becker himself said there should be blood, sweat and tears. He can aleady have a bit of that sauce in prison meanwhile, but perhaps we should trade tennis greatness for that indeed.
