After volunteering at a shelter for a couple of years, I decided to adopt senior animals. I saw so many surrendered to the shelter because their owners had passed away. My first attempt was two miniature dachshunds, 17 and 18 yrs old. I lost both of them this last year so now have adopted a 12 yr old declawed cat. He was surrendered when his owners daughter went off to college. From the only home he had ever known. If you’re looking for an animal, please consider a senior. They still have so much love to give.
