Once you have reached Profreshional DO NOT GUARD EGGS there are enough bosses to go way beyond the quota so focus on taking out more bosses rather than guarding eggs
MintTheDeer I was going to leave the same comment. It's sooo frustrating when there are like 4 bosses and someome is guarding eggs instead of foccusing on killing them
your comment needs a thousand likes. it's annoying to see a player sitting at the edge of the map and guarding a few eggs, while the rest of us are getting completely over run with bosses. help your team mates; focus on killing bosses and salmonids.
MintTheDeer Thank you so much for this, I would always guard an egg or two, without thinking about how annoying that could be. I did even in professional, where there's enough bosses to go waaaaay over the quota. Once I saw this tip, it improved my play so much! I'm now Profreshional 200!
there was this one dude trying to guard eggs in cohock mode it was so annoying and straight up lost us the match. like dude, I (a cannon) AM guarding the eggs your job is to bring them to the basket!!
No actually, saying help is more important. It is vital that you go out of your way to revive teammates. However unless my teammates remember to say "help" when they get splatted, I don't always notice and I can't revive them. I would revive them if they made me notice...
Tip 51: If you have one of the longer ranged weapons in the group, make sure to take advantage of it. All too often I see chargers leaving other people to deal with the Steelhead.
A collection of 20 other tips from my own experience as well as what others are saying: 1. Ink the walls, especially at high tide. 2. If it is low tide, immediately head to the shore. 3. If you are about to run to the egg basket, throw a bomb at the Salmonids. Your ink will refill on the trip, and any extra help is appreciated. 4. Inkjet also works on the Flyfish, but only if the bins are open. It's tricky to do, but can be done. Bomb Launcher works great, too. 5. Stingray is great for Goldie Rush if the enemies are in a big line, especially on Marooner's Bay high tide. 6. If you hit a fallen teammate or a Steel Eel with a bomb, the bomb will explode immediately, as if it hit a Splash Wall. Use this to your advantage. 7. If it is a Moshership event, split up. The enemies are usually pretty light, and being ready to hit the crate holders is vital. 8. When being targeted by a Griller, climbing a short wall can put you a long way from it. 9. If you have Splashdown and want to use it, wait until any nearby Steelheads are about to bomb you before using it. This will allow you to splat them as well. 10. Prioritize bosses weak to your weapon. Examples include long-range for Steelheads, rapid-fire for Stingers, etc. 11. If you shoot a scrapper, it will pause and focus on you before it breaks down. Use this to turn it in a more favorable direction (such as facing away from a safe area) before breaking it. 12. Likewise, if you hit a Scrapper, it will not focus on others. If it is focused on you, put it between you and your teammate so they can more easily splat it. 13. Wait for any nearby teammates before shooting propeller lifts, especially if they have an egg. 14. Inkjet is an excellent way to protect yourself during the Goldie Rush event. Since the Goldie is the only boss, you are safe in the air. Especially useful if you have the Glowflies. 15. (Minor tip) A small section of walls between the grates by the basket in Marooner's Bay can be inked. This makes jumping over less risky. 16. If you have a Brush or Roller, rolling with it makes you go faster on grates. 17. The non-Carbon Rollers can crush the Chum. If you are in Goldie Rush, you can roll over every non-Goldie this way. 18. The purple mohawked Chum are the ones that collect eggs. Splat them when you see them. 19. If you found the Goldie in a Goldie Seek, shoot it and spam "This Way" immediately. 20. If you like wasting extra specials after wave 3, make sure the wave you finished was wave 3 before using them. (I wasted a Sting Ray after wave 2 by accident once. I lost. Don't be me.) I hope these help. Happy hunting!
more people need to do the propeller one, i cant count how many times ive had an egg and someone WITHOUT one doesnt wait for me even though i was almost there
Some others from me: Use roller run over on Goldie in Goldie Seek. Thank me later. If you’re running out of eggs in Mothership, use Stingray on the Mothership. It will rain eggs. Stingray kills *everything.* Don’t be afraid to use a super before final wave. Much more worth it to reach wave 3 and lose than lose at wave 2 because of holding back on a super
This video has changed Salmon run. I saw EVERYONE using these tips today. I saw more sting ray use, more people crowding together to take down the fly fish. And I ACTUALLY survived the glow fly rush for once. Thank you for this video!! I got to profreshional today with a boost of 230%!
*story time* Yesterday I was a profreshional in salmon run with the meter filled to 60. In one match, my whole team was dead in one spot except for me. Remember this is the first round. Luckily, I was able to revive one teammate at the cost of my own life. But you know what he did? He kept trying to fend off the salmonids by himself when the other two dead teammates were right next to him! He ended up dying, we lost and my rank lowered from profreshional 60 to overachiever 30! I have never felt so much anger and hatred towards a stupid teammate in splatoon like how I did yesterday.
Druing the rush Event. if you have a roller. simply holding it down as a freaking shield. works too. just avoid getting splatted from another angle. Roller for life!
Just a tip, if you aim the shots from the inkjet right at the inside of the baskets on the flyfish, it WILL destroy the basket if you hit it right, same goes for the cannons at night time
Nintendo should add New comands with the 2 other buttons on the D-pad, seriously, stuff like "Follow me", "Watch out!" and "Fire there" could be pretty useful
I've always thought they should use the other two buttons. I kinda wish they kept the c'mon command because I don't want to say "this way" when I'm really just trying to tell my team to step up their game.
My tip, ink as many walls as possible, it helps got quick getaway and make it easier to traverse through the map. It's a huge help in Spawning Grounds.
All this time, I didn't know that the Flyfish was called.. well.. the Flyfish. Before I saw this video, I've been calling it the "Rouge penguin with the missles" XD
PRO TIP: when you're given any types of splat rollers during the Rush special event(except for Carbon Roller because too weak), JUST ROLL OVER THE ENRAGED SALMONIDS INSTEAD OF SWINGING IT!!!...it's an excellent weapon for sweeping them. if you come accross a Golden salmonid along the way your teammates will help you splat it.
Every time I see a noob swing his splat roller at Chums when you could've just rolled over them with it, I feel like I want to be able to quick-swap weapons with him immediately (which you can't)
Bryan660 actually during a rush event the carbon roller, for some reason, can actually roll over Chum. Not Goldies, but it can actually run over regular enemies.
its even better when you just stand in place in a chokepoint with the roller down, just do little steps forward, you will serve as a wall for your teammates and you will barely consume ink
Really wish people would stay near the basket during the goldfly event. It's annoying seeing them jump down and splat the bosses, when we could easily just get 30 eggs by sitting near the basket and letting the boss come to us. x_x
Tip for the zombie rush mode: Roller move as slow as possible in a choke point. This will activate your attack hitbox no matter how slow you move and will make you a wall effectively cutting off all slammed mobs or even wall blocking bigger mobs. Have glow on you: this means your the aggro pick a choke point and stand a distance behind the above roller, nothing will get to you or your team with the roller bloking the path :P
I'd like to add another tip for Salmon Run in the Lost Outpost Stage. For the Known Occurrences such as Rush and Griller, if you ink the walls and swim up the walls, you are not 100% safe. Trust me, I thought if I just stayed up on the walls I'll be fine, but nope. Even though the Salmonids can't climb up walls, they can jump to splat you. I think the creators knew this would happen so they made the Salmonids be able to jump when need be. But if you're cornered on a wall, moving left and right until they're not focused on you will increase your odds of surviving
Garrick Burns 1. This is does not work as far as I can tell, and I'm the kind of person who when the Briella came out tested all the specials against it to see which ones it can survive. B. Even if it did work what's the logic behind it, it's wearing armor all around It?
one quick thing about the steel eel, it cannot go onto the elevator platforms, so if your being preassured by one, just hop into the elevator platform (it doesn't work on other bosses though)
I was referring more in general and the upper areas. Also inking the elevator walls is important so you're not abandoning teammates to a "terrible fate". 😉
I've noticed that the Stingray may also work on the Steelheads. Not sure if this is a misconception or not, but this all but further solidifies the Stingray's usefulness in Salmon Run.
I have a tip I rarely see people use but is extremely effective. A lot of the time when I see people over extend and die far out I see other teammates running out and getting splatted as well. If this happens throw a bomb out to your fallen teammate so you can work on other objectives it will instantly save them and wastes little of your time.
something i find helps is in he rush event (at least on the stage where you spawn at the edge instead of the middle of the area) if you have the glow flies on you stick to the edge of the ledge. enemies can;t sneak up on you, will be going for you, and your teamates have only 2 straight lines to wipe out the enemies. it's not perfect but it is a good tip i find
In the other stage (where the egg basket is in the middle), you can just go on the raised platform near the basket and the enemies will only be able to come at you from one direction.
Always use the walls when dealing with Grillers. When a griller chases me, I usually swim up a wall to higher platform to stall time. It will still chase me, but my teammates will have an easier time shooting it down if I make it go in circles.
I wouldn't know about the time limit because those stupid things are FAST and always run me over xD I can deal with one but once two show up at once I'm bound to get splatted and then so does my team.. ;u;
Bomb Rush & Inkjet is also a must to quickly take down Flyfish during the 1st cycle(not as fast as Stingray). Inkjet in particular I would press b for a small height boost & shoot point blank at both of it's weakpoints.
I feel like they should let us bring our own weapons at the final rank. And as a new salmon run mode, maybe there can be 2 teams of 4 players each. Both teams can compete for who can collect the most golden eggs
I think choosing your own weapon makes salmon run too easy and sort of ruins the purpose of salmon run, which I believe is to teach you how to use weapons you don't often use.
I think it should be mentioned that you can use the inkjet to take out fly-fish as well. You can fire into their baskets with the inkjet to take them out. Also, because attacking with ink can revive teammates, you can use the Splat bombs as a form of long range revival. Same goes for the inkjet and especially the sting ray which can both revive teammates from afar. The sting ray is especially good for this because you can revive any teammate from anywhere on the map.
here's a salmon run tip: dont be my brother, Eli. He played a bit more than me (past 1200 points a day) to get to profressional, but he learned about a way to maroon yourself in marooner's bay by jumping on top of the shoreline basket base in the wave after any low tide. that isnt the issue, its the fact that he does it every opportunity he gets. almost the equivalent of a disconnection for the wave but no quota adjustment and rare opportunities for early kills and enemy distraction.
The scrapper will always face the first person that shoots it. If you shoot it and swim around it, you can aim its weak point at your teammates and save the time it takes to break it down. Be sure not to make it face its weak point towards an inaccessible area, such as towards the water during high tide.
Swinkmeister However if the person who shot stops shooting, it will go back to moving normally, so fire at it at least periodically to keep it from resuming its advance as you do this.
Number 51: With the rush, get out a roller and just stand there with it out. Once they come to you, they instantly get creamed. Be sure their route is headed TOWARDS your front and not towards your back.
Tip 51: Climb walls. The Salmonids can't climb walls (except maws) so it's a great way to escape, especially when you've been surrounded in the rush event of you've been pinned by a griller.
I was playing Salmon Run yesterday and me and a group of randoms pulled off a hard earned victory, we where all swarmed by a LOT of bosses at the last minute. Luckily everyone survived and we got enough eggs. After that, I started Squidbagging and spamming "Booyeah!" Everyone immediately joined in. It was a brief, but well earned celebration.
last 10 seconds 3 splatted the only one instead of running away tried to save us he was surrounded by 2 eels and no touching him they only was around him appaers the little sh** who throws missiles we lost after collecting near 100 golden eggs
Another tip from me: always be doing something. When you're just swimming back to the egg basket and delivering an egg, don't let that ink you refill go to waste! I almost always throw a splat bomb towards some enemies which takes a quarter of a second but can be extremely helpful. Its important managing your ink as efficiently as possible
"#45 Learn the canons" "Canons" Ah, yes, Salmon Run lore is very deep (don't even have to kid about that, come to think of it)! This mode really guns for our attention for sure! In all seriousness, these tips are fantastic and I always love the personality and life that you bring to your videos and streams! Thank you so much!
Here's a tip I was hoping you'd mention: Let some bosses come to you. For bosses like the scrapper, maws or even the drizzler, lead them closer to the basket so that you can quickly collect and deposit eggs. The more distance you put between you and eggs, the more time you're delivering and not providing other forms of support.
I can't remember if this was covered here, but DON'T LEAVE PEOPLE BEHIND ON MAROONER'S BAY.... On the platform lifts where people are collecting eggs, wait for others to board before raising the lift, you want to get eggs quickly and you don't want to risk your teammates getting splatted which could risk a team wipe later... Also I always try to go for a dip if we clear the final wave...
Aetheri The other side to this is, ink the walls of the elevators so if you do accidently leave someone, they can just hop up after you :) (Small question, is there another map? People keep specifying Marooner's Bay, i haven't seen any others or is it available when you're a higher level or something?)
There are two maps currently in the Salmon Run mode... Marooner's Bay is the one with the ship, and the second is Spawning Grounds... It usually cycles between the two when Salmon Run is available...
Another tip that can be useful is that the rank on your position resets to 40 every time the rotation changes. So if you are getting a string of losses (which is realistic because of how crazy salmon run gets), you could just wait until the next salmon run rotation so that you can keep your rank.
One thing I like to do in Salmon run whenever I have to deal with a Scraper or a Maws on my own while the rest of my team is off fighting other bosses, I like to lead them over to the egg basket so that I can easily deliver all the eggs myself. It's way faster than having to make three trips from miles away, and it can be a real life saver when the rest of the map is overrun and you still haven't met your quota.
I'm pretty sure I've seen Small fry climb the wall. Also Maws can climb walls, but it won't attack anybody while it is on a wall- it just uses them to keep moving. I mostly see this on the outpost, since the center is protected by walls (of which also render the steelhead nearly useless).
Also another tip - Those silver packs on your head are your special attacks! use them! you can tell who has or hasn't used their special packs just by how many packs they have left on their heads at the end of the match!
Another Salmon Run (and Splatoon in general) tip. INK THE WALLS. This is crucial for escape routes because salmonoids cannot go up walls (except for Maws). In between rounds, always ink the walls so you don't have to in the middle of a fire fight
Just going to add a few: -Ink the walls. This isn't turf war or Splat zones, survival is a priority. And mobility away from the Salmonids requires walls to be inked. Prioritize killing a snatcher going for fewer eggs: Since snatcher takes longer the more eggs it's going for, and since you can only hold one egg at a time, aim for the snatcher going for the one egg and come back before the the snatcher going for 3 eggs is about done. DO NOT call for "this way" to point attention to two eggs on the sbore while there's a boss party close to the egg basket. There's going to be much more eggs to collect there, and your team may need your help there. Do not crowd around the egg basket for too long. It is not a safe zone, and very much like in lost outpost, alot of crew wipes can happen because everyone got cornered in one spot for too long. Avoid the elevator and shore on the right hand side of Marooners bay like the plauge. It is simply a death trap caused by maws and flyfish. Do not stall scrappers in narrow areas you cant get around. Use bomb launcher on griller waves to either damage grillers, get your ink tank back or mangle the small fries If someone named Nikki is in your lobby, keep the Steel Eels off of her. They're actually programmed to attack her on sight. In very dire siruations you can stall the timer by up to 4 or 5 seconds by jumping into the water as opposed to getting splatted and immediately losing. DO NOT fall back too far in high tide if there's still a flyfish or stinger active. Stingers usually target the furthest person away from them. Try not to bait attacks into coworker. It might be accidental, but try to maintain spacial awareness. Don't bother using a dynamo on a stinger. It's faster to just throw splat bombs at it. Most chargers if not all have penetrating shots so in a large mob of salmonids, a singer charger shot can wipe out most lesser fish in one shot, and E-liter can wipe out any thing shy of high HP bosses in one shot. Addendum: E-liter holders dont even need cannons in Cohock waves. E-liter and Hydra splatling do hilariously high damage to mother ships. However on motherships first descent you should use sting ray on it just to get the 'mother load', but on the second descent, save the second sting ray, unless it's wave 3, or the quota has somehow not been met. DO. NOT. DIE. A chance for a crew wipe goes up exponentially if a teammate has to go into harms way just to revive you. Any questions?
Salmon Run is my favorite mode, personally, for the rewards, the intensity and for forcing me to practice with weapons I don't normally use, like chargers and blasters. My proudest moment was when I once used the Stingray to destroy a griller from afar and help my team reach our quota shortly before time ran out. .
Today I was playing Salmon Run, and I had a teammate that never said "This way!" when he killed a boss, and never booyahed back. We ended losing, not from getting splatted, but from not having enough eggs.
Good tips. I've been playing Salmon Run since the game released and there are things here I didn't know like knowing how close I am to the Goldie. Even after we make the quota early I see players opening more geysers flooding the map with enemies. At high tide this even blocks your path from the one geyser that could have the Goldie. I figured out early on that when the Salmonid go into a frenzy and start rushing you (my friend calls them zombies Salmonid), you need to stay together as a group. Too many times the player with the glow flies freaks out and starts attempting to flee around the stage leading the Salmonid away and thinking he is going to outrun them. If they get splatted somewhere much lower than where you are you can't go out and find them. It's just easier to stand your ground and refill your ink while everyone else watches your back. My biggest complaint about this mode is that splatted teammates are incompetent. They never call for help. They love rubbing against walls when you are on higher ground so you can't shoot down at them. They love to get up close to me and get behind me. Trying dealing with that if you are cursed with the incredibly slow Grizzco Slosher. Also no one uses "This way!" at all. I'll use it but it never draws attention. And one more thing--When the Fly Fish's missiles are heading your way do not lead them to another teammate especially if they are lining up shots with the charger. Speaking of which don't jump in front of a teammate with the charger or splatling and attempt to take out an opponent with your short range weapon when it will not reach.
I have a tip for the Drizzler. When it goes out of its shell, throw a bomb, after you throw the bomb, attack it like normal, it should usually be dead right on the first pop.
Oh great, now everyone will spam help in salmon run cuz of this and it'll be really annoying, it'll be more annoying to if someone is right there waiting to revive you or if their busy 😐
Well you can see when someone's been splatted on your screen, even through walls and enemies and if someone walks past you, they might be busy or just a horrible person
One other tip worth noting: You can ink the side of the elevators to swim up them. At the start of the round it's a good idea to ink the elevators, because the ink normally stays there the whole round. Only stingers and maws will paint the sides of the elevator, and in the middle of a hectic fight having the sides of the elevators inked can make a huge difference when one person can take the elevator up and the rest of the team can swim up.
I knew all of these but don't get me wrong.this is a GREAT VIDEO! I just want every splatoon 2 player to see this so I don't have to fail every round of salmon run!!!
#51: if the griller is on you, the easiest way to defeat him is to ink a wall and climb up it. It exposes its back to all your teammates causing a much easier win. :)
An interesting tip i learned for the Maws, even if it jumps up to snap you, you can jump to avoid the bite, even if you're in the ring, meaning that you'll survive the attack. idk if it's a timing thing or if i just happen to jump out of the circle at the last second but it has saved my life multiple times
Oh, I remember seeing a 'Twitch' at some point! I was too distracted by the tips to see if I was in any of the footage, but now I'll be hype whenever I see you!
