I remove bits of trash from my vehicle (cups, wrappers, receipts, etc) while I’m filling the gas tank. Tidy vehicle and keeps it out of the house. I also keep a swiffer duster in one of the door pockets. I dust the dashboard when I have a few minutes like when I’m waiting for someone or stuck in traffic. Thank you for a lovely, awesome video.
My best friend's car is so cluttered with useless, half-broken junk, that I don't even want to drive with her. I've told her a few times that I'll help clean it with her, but all I get for an answer is, "Whatever." When she goes to pay for something, her bag is so stuffed with junk, it takes her forever to even find her money. I'm giving thought to how someone's clutter can affect a friendship.
I agree with you. I had a very good friendship for a lot of years, then we lost touch for quite a while. After finding her again, we reconnected and started hanging out. She invited me to her home and , upon walking in, her house smelled so badly of cats (and what they produced) I couldn’t even accept a refreshment. Her home was cluttered with crap, but her cats visiting the litter box and then walking on top of tables and countertops did it for me.
Be patient with her, if she's a good friend. Good friends are hard to come by, honestly. Try to lead by example. And, do let live win, in this case. Everyone is different.
That’s not „clutter“ that’s „junk, trash and dirt“. You can have a cluttered home like my mum has, it’s extremely cozy and decorated, clean and smells good. my mum has cute things everywhere, tons of DIY decor, plants, memorabilia, photos over photos….
She sounds stuck and in denial that her untidiness is an issue. Until someone can see themselves, and can admit to a problem, and the psychological cause, they may not accept help. You could have a heart to heart offer of help, or a “let’s try this together” and rely on each other as a team, without shame. But first I recommend the non-judgmental and fun “clutter bug” test to learn what her personal brain re: stuff and organization is all about. Check out Cass, who created the method. It helped me a lot.
I did the CD not long time ago... and with all the memories that came I wanted to listen some of them... I spend the afternoon 😁, not efficient, but I had a lovely time.
I got through items 1-10 today. So far I’ve made progress in every category. Looking forward to continuing and getting rid of the extra stuff that doesn’t add value to my life. Thanks 🙏
I’m making a big international move in a few weeks and this list was so helpful. Definitely don’t want to pay to send things overseas that I won’t use there, either!
I was literally staring at the pile of towels I have to do when you mentioned getting rid of some 🤣 I have mountains of towels and I don't even know how it got that crazy!
A small thing but huge for us: I just got a battery organizer. All of our batteries in one spot now (with a tester) so I no longer have to direct everyone to where the batteries are now. 🤨
Great tips! Thank you! I empty the bed side table every morning. It used to be full of books, water and jewellerys. So it's a great morning routine. The flowers gets the left overs of the water both then and from the dinner.
A habit to get into is cleaning out the car's glove box when you get new insurance cards, registration or when you change the time on the clock. Also, gather up the trash when you stop for a fast food meal. You already have a bag for it and you may be near a trash can!
Not me watching this to get new ideas, as my ADHD has found something new to hyperfocus on and now I want to declutter 24/7 but there is nothing left to declutter hahahah
Love this! Thank you for the ideas! Your dog seems so sweet, I love animals. How old is Charlie? Your sweater is beautiful, that color suits you. 🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗
I thought of cleaning tools unless that was already said. Lol. And Bcuz I’m so bad about that. Brooms, mops, vacs, steamers, swiffer type things. I have quite a collection by now. 😅😅 In the past I guess I felt like I’ve never found “the one” so I’d buy all these diff things to try out. Not sure if my problem is that esp I hate mopping. Lol. And I often wind up using a simple broom (or the rubber pet hair broom and my stick vac or the vac with the hose). So whatever the “revolutionary” product is, I’d be putting it off anyways. Lol. The “easy ones” are very easy and fast, but it doesn’t feel “clean” to me. Feels more like get by half ass for now. The ones that really get the grime take a lot more time or effort or are bulky and heavy. Don’t like that either. Maybe I’ll figure it out one of these days. Lol.
I love the first one as I have a luxury channel based on handbags, etc. I did sell and give away many bags but now all I do is buy them.😂😂😂 I have decluttered most of my decorative pillows and it has really made a difference. I do need to go through our bed pillows though. I like lots of pillows but some have definitely seen better days.🥰
@@MiaDanielle yes it does.🥰 I don’t have a lot compared to many but it’s still more than I need.😂😂😂 My dream is to declutter everything else in my home.🥰
@@MiaDanielle I have traits of adhd, Im a hoarded, things got worse when my father passed away August last year, I'm slowly sorting my house out, with the table gone makes a massive difference as no junk on it
Coupons- I have a small clipboard and when I get a coupon I clip it there. Then at the beginning of each month I go through them and see what has expired or one I forgot about that I may want to use.
I have a video on decluttering different items here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0M5MSWQ1SWY.html but for books I like to start with the library. Our library has certain donation days that are held by a third party :)
my library is fcking picky with books. we have public spaces where you can leave or take books, like „book swap shelves“. i have one shelf at work, one in my laundromat shop, one is an old telephone box in the street, one is in my doctor’s office…
Old magazines. I somehow have accumulated 3 piles and for some reason can't seem to part with them, I keep thinking somebody else might want them. They need to go.
I have old magazines on a shelf in my closet. The next time I visit my sister or the cleaning lady comes over I give them a bag. They get different ones and we trade.
Old planners & diaries: there are only 14 different calendars. So an old planner can be used again - just replace the year. Okay these may be cheap enough just to get the correct year. Some diaries may have interesting features like the quote of the day or gardening planning notes. If you can use it next year and save getting a new one. If 10 years for the days to match it isn't worth hanging onto. {e.g. 2023 is the same as 2017, 2006,1995, 1989 - if you have already hung onto a 2017 unused planner another 8 months is nothing. My unused diary is 2006. Lol}.
Reduce no. of recipe cards in recipe boxes or in binders then categorize them, cull recipe books, kitchen linens (fabric napkins, dish towels, pot holders), reduce no. of wall decorations (pictures, paintings, mirror, etc.).
