My school has a similar machine. We used it with CAD then convert it to an illustrator file to cut bass wood sheets, museum board, chip board and acrylic sheets in one pass

Thanks for your videos, Chad. They helped me feel confident in buying one of these a few months ago. I use it all the time now and I've had really good luck with it. Definitely takes a little time to calibrate the mirrors, but once you get that done.. Anyway, thanks again!

I dunno if its been answered or not, but to change the language from Chinese... when you install Laserworks there is a dropdown box that is default to i think "traditional Chinese" or "Standard Chinese" you can can drop that down to select English and install and it will install everything in english.

please, have you make some test to cut steel sheet 5mm? thank you in advance for your answer

I've had this laser for about a year now, and I highly recommend it. There are always minor bumps in the road when buying a Chinese machine, but you can't beat the price. I also have a 3040 router/engraver and also recommend that. Both machines are made with high quality components and I was very pleasantly surprised. I had an older one of the cheap hobby laser engravers that you can now get for about $500, and those are relatively low quality, slow speed, and have very simplistic software. I would not recommend the cheap hobby laser. The glass CO2 laser tubes seem to last a long time. Even my old hobby laser tube (4-5yrs old) still works. One person mentioned replacing the tube with a more powerful one, but you need to make sure your power supply and other components can handle it first. My 50W tube cuts 5mm plywood with multiple passes.

can you please help me. I installed the software and it didn't work I emailed the company they sent me in the same software I guess that they sent you. I installed the software but it still tells me communication error and all my USB cords are connected correctly. if you can please help me that would be great

My Husband bought me a Laser KT4060 from China and we nearly waited a year before we received it. After opening up the crate we did not receive and serial numbers or a user manual. I've received a memory stick but it is in Chinese and believe me, we don't know what to do at all. We are not happy at all. Unfortunately, we bought the machine through a company at the coast and they are not willing to give us the contact details of the suppliers.

Got mine from Amazon 12-2-14. The "control panel" is faulty (will not light). Just sent email to Amazon of this concern. Manual says it is under warranty for 2 years. Will keep you informed of progress.

Have you been able to engrave some black anodized aluminum to leave markings, like white text such as for marking panels and parts? Thanks. I understand these 50W CO2 laser are not powerful enough to cut aluminum 6061 or such, but i am looking at options to engrave text etc on aluminum parts that are to be black anodized.

Do you know enough about the quality of your laser over say a 60 watt and 80 watt laser I've seen on eBay. I'm also very new to this. I'm a luthier wondering does cut wood like the fretboard of a guitar for inlay? Does it engrave clear plexiglass. So many questions. Wish I could find out the best so called brand

Thanks for great video Chad. I got mine today and I am trying to do some work but i have problem when cutting 3 mm acrylic. It either burn the acrylic (it goes black) or it does not go through. I've tried all zillion combinations of speed/power ration but i can't find the right one. Any suggestion? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

good video chad there a good little machine would definitely rate them in the higher scale of a chinese products That old saying you get what you pay for is unfair for this machine there a hell a lot of machine and complexity for only $2000

I recently purchased the Model KH-7050, physically the mechanics seem to be working, however I have not been able to get the driver to work, I get a message of no communication when I try to send a file to it. The software sent with the machine was CorelDraw... I design with and would like to use Adobe Illustrator. Is there a drive available fpr ILLUSTRATOR ?

Great job on your videos. I'm considering getting a 100watt model. I'm concerned about the shipping. It's "free shipping" to the US (to either an LA or NYC port). Then I have to pay shipping (or go pick it up, which isn't gonna happen because I'm near Chicago), and pay for customs and anything else they throw at me. Any thoughts on that? Encountered "WATER 1 ERROR"....I believe it is an issue with the Solenoid Valve, but am not sure if this is the reason that the machine is not functioning anymore. Has anyone encountered this error, and if they have, what has been the workaround for such an issue? Thanks so much!

We have the same unit at work. Everything was delivered almost broken. Had to put wires in their places. then we stared to use it. The EStop went loose, as does the wires. Now cannot use any button except for RESET. How do you recover from that? Minor error we get all the time when skectching, "ERROR OUT OF MEMORY EXTENTS" Seems we can only use the Outline Mode for anything. THe machine is now unresponsive, as the only button there that works is the RESET button. Will look into it. Nice little etcher. ~$2800.00 from ebay.

Manufacturers settings (has axis setup , probably has language setup) is accessed by holding "stop" and pressing numbers "6" then "0" then"8"

Software is RDWorksv8. Sent picture of display to Lisa-RuiDa Technology. She underlined the language that would change display to English. Will try it tomorrow. Was doing a plaque with a "header" and 3 columns of names on 8.5x11 metal plate. The machine would not do it. Waited 10 minutes for it to process...still nothing. It did print the "header" AFTER removing the 3 columns of names. I removed all but 1 column of names and got a strange "beep" when I pressed the start button...nothing happened...10 minutes I waited. Each column had 40 names so I reduced the names to half...still nothing...reduced to 1/4 and it worked with no "beep". I think it is a "processor" issue. Will do a video of this and hopefully have it post on RU-vid tomorrow. BTW. Got CorelDraw12 to work with RDWorksv8 but not Adobe Illustrator.

Hey guys - when we install the software for this machine - it comes up with a Chinese symbol with an explanation symbol in a yellow triangle - must be something to do with the USB drives. Anyone had this problem? Software is RDWorksv8. Thanks

Hi, I got a used machine. When the machine turns on and the laser head resets the motor wont stop the laser head and it keeps trying to go. Like it's out of calibration. Any ideas. Thanks

I just got my 50W laser. I have several questions and cannot find any other source of info but you! So I hope you can help. 1- how close/far from the substrate should the laser be? Should I be raising the bed so the piece is nearly touching? 1" away? 6" ? Is there an ideaL? 2- Have you found a setting to eliminate the need for flipping the image? Thanks for any help!

Got my laser engraver a month ago and love it. The software is a hassle, but is RDWorks the only software compatible with the laser? I've used Inkscape for a few drawings and then RDWorks sucks for importing certain items. What's the easiest way to get a handle on the software? I still can't figure out how to thicken the lines on the software haha. Any help would be awesome!

Are you happy with the machine,she really does what is advertised and what the max thickness of plywood and acrylic you can cut with 50W thanks.

I just got my laser delivered and unpacked. The machine looks pretty good, but the 4th axis rotary is another story. It literally looks like it was made with a Sawzall and a Dremel tool (so bad that even an amateur would call it a hack job). I thought I might try using it, but the frame wouldn't even sit flat on the bed. Fortunately, I have the machining equipment in my workshop to rebuild it.

cool video, I have a 40 watt chinese laser from Ebay that has been with me over a year and still works flawlessly and for 600.00 bucks i cant complain, i do like your cabinet though the cutting area looks great :)

Hi Chad, I have a SinJoe Laser Etching 80Watt Laser Engraving Machine that I have had nothing but issues with since it arrived. The company I bought it from Laser Depot in Las Vegas. I have contacted them and SinJoe in China repeatedly and cannot get any help! Im using Laser Cad Software. When I export a design from Corel Draw and then import it into Laser Cad it downloads to the machine just fine. It shows up correctly on the LED screen on the machine, however when I start it, it burns the design at a slant instead of straight up and down. I have aligned the lasers so I feel that it is a software issue, but I am lost and sitting here with an 8,000.00 machine I cant use. In addition it did not come with a laser pointer or the rotary attachment. They sent the attachment later but I have no clue how to install it. I cant find anyone in the San Antonio area that knows how to work on it. Any assistance you can offer would be much appreciated!

good video and good luck with your laser engraver. :) for me, though, when i can afford one i'll buy from a reputable company with offices in america that can offer technical support and service. too, it won't be off of ebay, lol. you seem like a really nice guy so i hope this is a great machine for you, but, i'm sorry, there are just too many shady variables involved for me to feel safe about this particular product. paying more is worth it when what you're adding is tech support, service, better (and real) warranties, name-brand quality, reliability and peace of mind knowing it'll work every time with precision.

Hi Chad, we also have this laser, we use it mainly for engraving glass trophies. Just recently we have run into a problem where the engraver reports an error message (we had it translated - out of memory) when working on Logo art work as part of the engraving. I'm wondering if you have come across this, or if anyone else out there has any suggestions on how we can solve this? much appreciated, Hellyn

Have you been able to change the speed when the program runs? I've found that when I change the speed, it only affects the speed when I'm using the jog keys, when it outlines the frame, or when it it is just repositioning itself. When I start it cutting, it uses some preset speed that never changes.

We've had this machine for a few years now and it has worked well. The plastic 21 teeth pulley has gone bad and I need a replacement. Does anyone have a source for parts?

i got the 40w and it wont power on at all. yes, i did try the emergency stop, and its off. the seller asked if i had checked the fuse under the power outlet. i did but i dont know what im looking for. nothing seems loose. your video was easy and helpful. im hoping to get this thing on!

Anyone know how to get a deeper, sharper engraved image? edges look rough and the surface is barely cut.

Run Google Translate and point it at the screen. It will translate. There is an option (Press the button at the center of the cursor arrows) and you should see it. In there you can select language to english. Life is much easier after that.

All the videos I watched no one uses or talks about the ground on the left side of the machine. Should it be used and best way to set it up properly?
