Introducing myself and bringing you a 1971 Nova. This car comes with an all-new drivetrain which includes a 383ci stroker motor that has a documented 482HP. The TH350 transmission has been completely rebuilt along with the posi rear diff. The car has a 3:55 gear ratio which makes it manageable on the streets. Additionally, this vehicle comes equipped with 4 wheel disk brakes, a new fuel tank, new subframe connectors, new traction bars, driveshaft, upper and lower control arms from Global West, Bilstein shocks, and new springs. The engine has only been driven for about 300 miles at the time of this video.

487 hp?! One wheel peel at that rpm should have smoked that treaded tire. It's funny how a used car salesman can talk up something he has no idea about. This is designed to fluff up its value. What you're actually getting is a decent pig with some lipstick on it.

Dang dude. Way to harsh the mellow on this fine Friday morning. It's a positraction rear with documentation as well as a dyno sheet from @Smeding performance showing, ahem...482HP. That's my final answer.

@@BonafideAutoAppraisal You can't deny its an 8.2" ring gear rear end and the video showed it only layer a single tire spin patch. You can church it up all you want but some of us trolls know better.

@@BonafideAutoAppraisalIt also has a quick fuel QFT 600cfm carburetor on it. There is no secondary metering block on it which proves it's a vacuum secondary street carb that can not support "482" hp. I can pick the car apart more if you'd like?

You can pound a well set up ten bolt. Especially on those tires

Yeah, the 10 bolt can handle the power in this car with the gear set that's in it. If you were to switch to a 4.10 gear ratio and use slicks, then you might want to consider upgrading to a 12-bolt rear end. However, I feel comfortable racing this car with its current gear ratio and 10-bolt rear end, even if I were to use slicks.

I agree. My first car was a new 68 Chevelle, loved it. However, I replaced it with a 70 Nova SS, 396. Replaced engine with a bored and printed punched out 427 with full race everything. Beefed up the suspension, ladder bars, etc. Was running around 650 hp, in the low 10s at around 135mph. So don't tell me that you should not put more than 200 hp in a Nova. 🙂

In the past year, 3rd-generation Novas have been sold online for an average of $43,000. The highest recorded sale was $118,000, while the lowest was $8,000. This particular Nova has a brand-new drivetrain with documentation, so we believe that $37,000 is a reasonable starting price.

I had a 70 SS…383 ..aluminum heads..560” lift…3500 stall..4:10 gears…Buttercup yellow with black vinyl top…wide oval redline tires..looked like your grandma’s car…until I started it…🤣🤣.

That is one bad ass nova, don’t get me wrong but it’s not 1987, nobody thinks a third gen nova is a sleeper anymore. That being said, I do like the 1976 nova concours paint scheme

Very nice but not a sleeper with the hood , traction bars and obviously the sound coming out of the DUAL exhaust unless you’ve been in a cave that’s a lightweight street rod all day
