Craig and Charlie perform live acoustic on the ITV show Loose Women, and talk about their new compilation album "The Very Best of The Proclaimers - 25 Years, 1987-2012", out on July 1st, 2013. www.itv.com/loosewomen
I love that this appears in my feed. They performed on the Letterman show in 1989 and used the house band for backup and the band was having a blast. It was a tight, lovely, rousing performance.
Amazing song performed by an incredibly talented duo. Their harmony and call-and-response vocals are a perfect counterpoint to a simple guitar and tambourine melody.
You are right abt music from previous eras when music was original and talent was required. 1960 and 70s were the most innovative years for recorded music, particularly rock. Find their performance on the David letterman show in 1989. It was held up wonderfully. The house band played with them and had fun.
These guys are great. I practically wore this cd out in high school. Such a good album, the entire thing. Its a shame this is the only song they're known for.
+khlash The only song i knew them for was Over and Done from Bottle Rocket and sent that video to a friend and he was like it is the 500 miles guys and I was like "who?"....LOL
Yesterday my love returned to her country. I hate borders. When I'm lonely, well I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who's lonely without you And when I'm dreaming, well I know I'm gonna dream I'm gonna dream about the time when I'm with you
NO! Androzani Critic we can't! russian xtreme hit the nail on the head! I already know the Proclaimers very well and they're very refreshing in a time of virtual musical bankruptcy!! The rapper ghetto crap is not even music and if that weren't bad enough, they use Auto-Tune and computer enhancement to make some otherwise totally untalented 'people' seem interesting. FAIL!!! There's NO substitute for real feelings and true talent!
Ryan Whiteman You think you're special? You aren't. Most of your generation still likes the Beatles. Everyone likes the Beatles and the Stones and Pink Floyd. You ain't special.
Bae it noo! the ve'y best of the proclaimers!! all the hit! nae need tae walk 500 miles tae the shaps, order it todae on h'amazon. ye will be dancin tae the hit no bother
Harsh? It's an unlistenable rhythm of audio artifacts that are a consequence of the poor series of re-rencodings this has gone through since it was recorded (probably poorly to begin with) in 2013.
