The lost grain - rain damaged or salt water damaged? If rain damaged, there must be poultry farmers who would buy it for chicken feed-at a discount of course, but it need not be a total loss to the company.
Thank you for uploading and sharing this sad news about how Ukraine's Farmers are having even more problems than just the shipping issues of safe passage delays from blockades. No news source has mentioned that the grain that made it out or port, was not in usable condition for feeding people. The damages from the war are affecting them on so many different paths, and then come all the businesses, their workers , to the stores and finally the people who were depending on those farmer's now ruined wheat , for food are suffering also. Words fail, the quote from Carl Sagan an astronomer comes to mind. I've included it below, that he said when looking a picture of us here on Earth taken from the Voyager 1 Space Craft (launched back in the early 1970's) as it was leaving our solar system. For how his words explain how pointless and cruel all this suffering , starvation, and death from war about disputes over imaginary lines on map. That have been redrawn so many times throughout the history of time, again and again just for some evil idiot to start another war so they can now be the master of some patch of land, no matter the sheer amount of misery they cause for their fleeting moment..... That Quote about "The Pale Blue Dot, ( Earth ) at that distance looked so small it was like blue speck of dust caught in sunbeam at that distance. The large Earth is really vastly small and yet we still can't seem to get it right , that we need to be a better more loving and humane person to your fellow humans. Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known. - Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot, 1994 It hard to vote a like on this subject matter but if I didn't the video would not get the views it deserves and, we appreciate your effort to get the word out about conditions that will be coming to affect our store shelves even worse in the next few months. I can only image the sickening feeling with each additional scoop as you realize that even much less grain was going to feed starving people. Take care of yourself, try to keep your spirits up, and Stay safe up there.

Wet grain also can spontaneously combust and start a huge fire. That happened in the United States several years ago when big piles of soybeans sitting on the ground were hit with flood waters
I belive thats because of soy bean oil oxidizing, creating heat and igniting the pile, not from the flow water per say. Be nice the the poster had more info but all we know is bread bad 😂
@@user-pc8tb7hg1lHandlesRDumb Any grain and hay too can heat up and spontaneously combust if it's stored with excess moisture in it, quite often I've seen hay bales pulled from large winter feed stacks that have big fully charcoaled sections in the stack where it heated up enough to carbonise the hay but fortunately the bales were stacked tight enough that not enough oxygen could get in to allow combustion, same with grain from silos you will sometimes see sections where moisture got in there will be sprouted and rotten grains at the outer edges of the wet area then further in it will be moldy and steaming hot and right in the centre the grain will be blackened and carbonised.

at 23:20 are you have to take the wet grain out of loaded truck due to extra weight? I saw the first scoop and thought it might be leveling it off so it was under the sides and not heaped up in pile but the second scoop you removed was taking even more out.
