#Population growth! We all know about #India and #China and their billion-plus populations. China faces a potential demographic crisis - the after effects of a harsh one-child policy. India too will eventually see natural population decline.
But keep your eye on #Nigeria. It is the most populous country in #Africa, with a young and growing population. It is also rich in natural resources, including oil, gas, and minerals. Nigeria's economy is growing rapidly, and it is projected to become one of the largest economies in the world by the end of the century.

Yes and no. Before the industrial and agricultural revolution the population was largely dependent on arable land. Since that usually didn't change much neither did the population. And yes a lot of guessing was involved in data before 1800

I remember reading several articles about the CCP trying to keep the population from dropping below a billion, and Japan also wanted to maintain above 100 million. Japan's population, along with South Korea, is dropping. China will definitely drop more, it's just the pattern of countries with career-driven citizens and the mounting cost of raising even one child.

Just check for the southern states in India, it's lesser. Infact TamilNadu population is expected to start declining from 2031 onwards unless there is inward migration

@@pranav275 There are 19 states/UT with lower fertility rate than Tamil Nadu..in top10 lowest fertility rate, only pondicherry figures from south.. also, out of 35 states and union territory, 29 are already below fertility rate 2...so india's population will also decline fast

Now it is 2.1 soon it will 2.0. and The most populated State in India uttar pradesh has now implemented 2 child Policy They are expecting that their fertility rate will fall below 2.0 by 2030 which will have big effect on India also Some state in India has fertility rate 1.50 and 1.25 also many States has fertility rate below of 2.0 . So it is Clear India's population will not grow that much. Un projected this data by current Population growth rate .

India was unified in 300BCE itself under Mauryan Empire..then again under Gupta Empire..and it lasted longer than British Empire..then again under Mughal Empire...rather, British fragmented India and divided it when Pakistan/Bangaldesh got separated from India permanently..was there a coutry called greece in past? it was divided between spartan and other kingdoms..Italy was unified only in 1861, The current France is unified only in 1958..but still france is called as country of over 1000yrs old because that land was french culture for that period

Thank god the 1 child policy was not implemented in India! Many people in India don't realize how that could've had a huge effect on India's growth if implemented. China population will drop 50% from 2030 to 2100? I m interested into know is there any assumption behind it? Is it a massive war? Disease? Otherwise, from the past 400 years you have generated from Java, the population trend of the 3 countries were quite stable in a long run. I will expect the growth rate drops naturally but population size remains steady.
