Hello everyone this is Eli. In todays video is the long awaited 2nd part to my Om606 toyota tacoma diesel swap! In this video I will be pulling the 2.4l engine out of my tacoma and fitting in this straight 6 turbo diesel with nissan 6 speed transmission. As well as fitting a ford 8.8 rear end and getting a custom driveshaft made.
There were tons of custom brackets, and mounts needed for fitting this engine. Although I made it happen in our little shop! Big thanks to

for all of the "go fast" parts. Definitely make sure to go check them out if you are wanting to do a similar build. They have some of the highest quality parts in my opinion.

Keep original transmission. Use acme adapters kit. You bolt the om series engine to the stock toyota transmission.

@@agray_lowboost I have that too. You use a W56 bellhousing. Marlin has the bellhousings really cheap right now.

Super rad i know what my 1st gen 96 Dakota is getting swapped in now! And running the factory NV3500 5 speed with 231D HD transfercase, gonna make an om606 regular cab shortbed dakota 4x4 5 speed and eventually gonna get ram 2500 axles swapped under it. Awesome swap and awesome to see your working with DieselPumpUK for parts and swapping

Fun stuff, great build. I just took my 606 out for a spin today and obliterated the stock Defender plastic throw out bearing. Thankfully the starters are beefy and it cranked up in second gear to hobble home. The heavy duty bearing showed up from DPUK a few days after putting the engine in, that’s what I get for being impatient. I will say it’s absolutely amazing to work on with DPUK’s billet intake, don’t miss that beast of a stock manifold.

dude.... so sick. i do portable welding for a living and your welding looked pretty damn good man! i have two T100s in my backyard and they both have 200k miles on the original v6 3.4 gas engines. Im stuck between this swap and the VW TDI swap (better gas mileage possibly). I subbed and cant wait for an update video or your next build!!! god bless

Rear end removal and installation the hard way. Should've dropped the springs at the rear. Unbolt the rear with wheels still on it and roll it out. Reverse the process for install. We all did things the hard way once in our lives

Amazing talent you have going on there youngster! I'm swapping an om617 into a 4-eye, 4 door Fox body...wait...wut? Yep, mid 80's LTD was a Fox platform that was begging for an engine swap. I've already added the later model SN95 front suspension and rear axle for 5 lug wheels and big brakes. I wish my welding skills were as good as yours because my motor mounts look like junk compared to yours. Keep up the good work!

Pretty sure we live in the same town! I saw a tacoma that looked exactly like this driving around roaling coal. Would love to catch up with you and check it out in person. I'm currently om617 swapping a ranger and also have a daily 300d and e320 cdi. I love these mercedes diesels and would love to get my hands on a om606.

yes sir! within the 3500 miles i've put on it so far i am getting about 25- 28 mpg! i can't say i drive it the most conservative all the time either lol.
