Spontaneity often leads us to the best experiences.
Such was the case when Dylan and I made a last-minute decision to head out and shoot photos of our friend Greg's 500-wheel horsepower Nissan Skyline R32 GTR. The stars aligned as his car had just left the body shop where it had received a freshening up, making this impromptu photoshoot an opportunity too good to pass up.
We decided we wanted to shoot the car at a location that had just opened up and neither of us had shot at before. After being photographers for so many years it's a rare treat to be able to shoot in a completely new place. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow on the scene, we got to work. The R32 GTR, now bathed in the ethereal light, looked like a work of art on wheels.
Greg's Skyline is a fantastic example of what happens when you have a good understanding of period-correct style and the patience to actually pull it off. He explained that his goal with the car was to make it aesthetically as period-correct as possible but invest in modernizing the mechanical side of the car to enhance the quality of life and reliability. After spending a few hours in and around the car I would say it's a job well done.
The freshly rebuilt Nismo LMGT1 wheels, R33 GTR series 2 seats, the moulded N1 trunk wing, Ferrari F40 front Brembos and the small collection of Nismo goodies inside the car speak volumes to the style. The Link ECU and full suite of Spectrum Motorsports turbo bits help the car accomplish its 500WHP on pump gas with very little compromise.
Collectively, the car shreds and all of these parts allow the RB26DETT to make an incredible sound.
Thanks for bringing it out Greg!
