you can gain access to a song without copyright, it just means if this video were to be monetised they wouldnt be allowed to make any money off it. I dont think theres anything wrong with just using the song as long as you arent profiting off it.
What are the requirements for the video? Like does there need to be a certain number of scenes or can it be a one shot? Does there need to be a clear story or correlate with the song?
No certain number of scenes, we could do any amount, but the video had to be 5 minutes or less and it had to be for a song that didn't already have a music video. We had to pick a genre and basically either subvert and/or conform to the conventions of it!
