Little advice when tuning theses slide carbs let the bike warm up all the way b4 making and adjustments to the af,the bikes are supposed to be hot and at operating temperature
Throw in 1 or 2 cans of TruFuel into the tank. With all the upgrades you have you’ll see an ENORMOUS power gain. It’s 92 octane fuel with no ethanol, the stuff is a bit expensive at Autozone, Advance Auto or Lowes. But it’s 100% worth it especially if you store the scooter for long periods of time since it doesn’t break down or varnish after a long period of time. It’s in a gray aluminum can and trust me you’ll thank me later.
If not enough fuel in the tank isn't the issue, try going up one notch on the needle and lean it out there a tad. So far that's what my scooter seems to like with similar setup.
hey man just wanted to say i love your content, ive actualy been following along and i put an 80 cc kit in my scooter and it runs so so so well now, faster, louder, more able to do burn outs and even pop the front tire up somtimes, thank you again for this video and all of your scooter videos man! scooter sceene is small still but growing in the us and im so fkn excited for it to become a norm to the western world
I ordered a similar 21mm pwk carb for my taotao 50cc with a “100cc” big bore kit on it and it just kept a flooding the engine was sputting and poping like pop corn . Every time I downsized the jets it would run better I’m at an 85 main jet right now and still going down I have an 82 and 80 comin in the mail hopefully does the trick 🤘🏼
yo im going through a similar carb swap and i noticed that i might have to remove a wire and plug (electric choke wire?), is just leaving it unplugged fine or would i have to remove the entire wire system? also added 4 more air filters and gained 22 mph fyi
hello, i am 15 years old and have a 50cc gy6 scooter and it has 6g roller weights in and i want to go to 5g roller weights. what is the equivilent in slider weights as i heard they are better. TIA
ive been following this build for awhile now! ive just installed my 100cc BBK upgrade today and im waiting on my intake, PWK carb and UNI air filter! ive also got the yellow 1500 clutch springs and conca spring but im waiting to install those until i get a feel of the stock springs. Definitely eager for an update but i know your probably taking care of the garage stuff you were talking about.
@@throttle_therapy getting around 41mph on my app with the 105main/38 pilot. I went to my local shop and was able to get a #98main jet ordered in a pack of 4. Don’t know why I’d need it but hey I got extras for $11 lmao. Gonna put it in the carb and also raise the needle by 1 notch to see if it’ll help with my idle
I'm just seeing this now ! Love youre videos man haven this setup on my taotao as well, i haven't perfectly tuned it yet because it's pretty cold now in Western Pa, but these carbs are awesome. Love following along too man!
Hey buddy, I'm looking for a Good scooter. I been looking all day, just dont know where to find a good one. Don't Wanna pay much, are you selling or do you know a good website?. Just found your channel looking up scooters. I want a fairly new fast one.
I wouldn't feel comfortable giving tips with that scooter. Sorry friend! I hope to get a 2 stroke to work on one day! Then I'll be able to learn more and help
What engine code do you guys have on your 50cc taotaos? Myn is 1pqmb139. Does that mean p code engines have the bigger valves? Myn does about 38-40mph stock
The orange cdi makes it harder to start if you oval the pick up sensor on the fan engine side if you slide it slightly to the left you get the timing benefits of the orange or blue cdi but with Easter starts for free
Doing alot of the same myself trying to squeeze up to traffic speed lol. After a recent change, i feel like i lost alot of rpm from my engine, but gained alot of road speed. Swear i feel my valves hitting the cylinder some times. Not sure if its fueling or the quality of the BBK 😅 running a Nibbi Pe19fl, maybe i made a mistake there
I have a hard time finding the sweet spot with tuning. It feels like the scooter runs different each time we ride without making changes. Dialing it in is a constant struggle.
I’m having a similar issue. I did the 80cc and now the valves are very chatty. I did a test. I adjusted the valves to zero (tappet touching the valve) and ran the engine. The tapping noise went away. I adjusted the valves back to specs and the noise came back. I’m assuming it’s normal for some of these engines to be chatty. I’m also having a problem with the idle. Can’t find the sweet spot. Either too low or too high. Can’t get it right. It’s either the pilot jet is dirty or the carburetor is too small. I’m using the original carburetor 18mm. Other than that runs good. I get to 40 within seconds where before i got to 25 within seconds then it was a struggle to get to 40. I’ll try seafoam first to try to clean it out. If that doesn’t solve it; I’ll try a 20mm carburetor. What’s your ideas in this?
@@grazz7865 These little engines are definitely chatty to a degree. I think a 20mm would do nice with the bbk. I went with a 20mm cvk before throwing on this exact 21mm carb, and the 20mm absolutely did better than stock without issues. I'm running an 80cc, big valve head, naraku bottom end, and pretty much everything else that can be done to it.
@@brentking5190 sounds like you did a good job with yours. I don’t know. I noticed the 80cc is a lot more chatty than the 50cc. I know it’s the valves because I ran a test. I adjusted the valves to zero (tappet touching the valve) and the sound went away. Since then I readjusted them to 3mm and of course the sound came back.
@grazz7865 yeah my 80 is defintely louder in the chat department than the 50 was. I'd like it to be less noisy, but it's at spec and never had any kind of valve/head issues, so I take what I can get.
