I've had many chris crafts from 27 all the way to 57' and these boats are really in a class by itself. No matter where you go with a yatch like that, you are the center of atraction, period. I had one this size for 2 years and it was the best two years of my life. Before I had a 36' and we cruised from key west to savanah GA and back in it thru the intracoastal waterway, wish i could turn the clock back :).
malanga13 i m, looking at the Attraction 3 constellation. what would you think about doing the loop? will the extra gas money be worth it for a long haul cruise?
@JulianIbanez13, I’m in my mid 60’s and you look younger than me. I’ve had a few boats in my life, but nothing over 20’, one of which I still own. I always dreamed of a classic cruiser, though., just something I could weekend on. A 25’ Catalina would suffice. For the most part, I have the skills and knowledge to restore and maintain a vessel like this. Unfortunately, now I just don’t have the energy. 😡
Absolutely beautiful yacht! I'm looking at buying one just like this that has been completely restored. Everything from polishing all the stainless, refitting wood planks, redoing all the varnish, new chrome and engines. The work was started in 2006 and is just now being finished up. It is totally stunning. They don't build anything this beautiful today!
Fantastic! I really enjoyed the video. Why can't more people put videos like this on RU-vid. Not only a beautiful boat but very well shot and you actually let us have a good long look at her. No Jibber Jabber, no pop video style quick cut editing and the use of the the centre opening up for a new picture etc far better than annoying cross fades where you loose several seconds of not being able to see either picture and a great finish with her slowly pirouetting while you hold the shot instead of dancing around or editing different angles. You got it right!, We're interested in seeing the boat, not how clever you are with effects etc, in fact this shows more skill. Thanks again.
I fell in love with Constellations when I was growing up in Algonac, and this has to be the most GORGEOUS I've seen so far. And available too. If only.......... Good luck on the sale, I hope it goes to a worthy new owner.
I grew up in St. Clair Shores and spent my whole life on the lake, even working in the marinas with an uncle and a couple cousins. I fell in love with the Connie in 83 when I worked the Boat Show at Metro Beach. Met Jack LeGoff, the biggest news anchor in Detroit in the 60's and as we were talking I turned and looked and I saw it. We both were in awe. In fact it may have been this very boat. I can't say for certain but I think this video was shot on Lake St. Clair and the Clinton River.
If I had that boat, I would have it in Fort Lauderdale. On a Friday night I would run it out the inlet, and go 20 miles off shore....and shut everything down. And then go to bed with the windows open, and listen to the water lapping the hull and the dolphins splashing as I went to sleep.
That's the dream! I live in Massachusetts. When I was young, we took our 27' Owens out into the open water with no other boat in sight, shut everything down, and just floated. After a short while, the boat was covered with ladybugs! I'll never forget that.
Sweet yacht, had a 71, 38' Connie for 12 years. She was one of the last wood hulls built in Holland, MI. Would have loved to see the inside, salon, etc. though.
Gas powered engines? Great thrum of power. Can't imagine filling her up and not going five hundred miles. Only uncle SAM could afford to feed these monsters in his PT fleet. Diesels would give you greater range and be less of a fire danger. Beautiful boat.
With 400 Gallons of fuel, the range is approximately 250 miles. Surely not enough for long range travel. However we do travel internationally in the Great Lakes between the USA and Canada.
Wow, what a neat video. It's like going for a boat ride while sitting on your couch. Only the very rich can afford to own these boats. Fuel and labor costs are so high now. It would be great if these old engines could be retrofitted to be hybrids or similar propulsion.
what a damn lousy rotting shame that Chris craft no longer makes these beautifully Georgia's works of maritime art just like frank lloyd wright a masterpiece of a by gone era will never see again sure brings a tear to your eye thank God that hacker craft still does a fortune and the Richardson' boats also of yesteryear those were the days what a real treat to ride in a wooden boat not fiberglass or aluminum good ol wood built out of love pride class and honor and made for the water life was so grand back then still wish it was like that today
Its been many moons now my dad did electrical work on boats here on the ohio River, many of these boats ,I was along as a gopher remember very vividly, was raised on the Ohio river ,Louisville Kentucky
@@nelsontabor4679 its almost barren in the Louisville area, hardly see any boats ,eat at a restaurant on river and look at it thinking what it wonce was ,even the Bell of Louisville doesn't play her calliope
@@nelsontabor4679 water down here been looking good ,haven't been out there went the other way ,RV ,watch the water every time i get ,live in New Albany, on the down side of locks
This vessel is not a restoration. It has been in continuous use since new and always kept in pristine condition. The bottom paint is Interlux VC Offshore. The varnish is a two part polyurethane.
Did this one have the twin perkins 200s? Can I buy a copy of your last survey? I need it as I am dealing with an insurance company who says the boat is worth 20k. It has less than 600 hours on the mains. Been sitting in Hunnington Beach for a while. Mine is a 1962 51oal. I need to know what you paid for it as well. If youd like, please call 253 380 0720. I have till April 7th, 2021 to get my value of the boat in as well as settlement offer. Thanks
Troy, I am sure you will enjoy your Chris Craft and receive as many compliments as I do. I would enjoy viewing the photos, but do not have a facebook account. I hope to run onto you somewhere. Happy Boating to you.
I've dreamed of owning a "Connie" since I was a kid in Chicago. I used to go to the various harbors and torture myself;~). You have a very beautiful boat and, it's obviously maintained with love. I get close butt, I haven't quite gotten there yet. I'm a single guy and would live on my boat.
Even the boat hook was restored. Class. Two questions though: When underway at cruise, I didn't see two prop washes out the stern. Is there only one screw? And when turning a 180 at the end of the video, I didn't see evidence of a starboard engine in forward and a port in reverse. Is there a single screw on a pod? I hope not. An absolutely beautiful yacht.
