I'm an example of the kind of player Nep refers to towards the end of this video, generally I tend to do play the bare minimum when it comes to this game. I complete my daily plays if they're available at that time, I do the evos to make my evo squad better, but occasionally I also will open packs. Recently I was fortunate enough to get the unintended payout of TOTS Bellingham and also TOTSM Putellas. Immediately I built a team around them and it's full of amazing players, front 3 of Schuller, Havertz & Putellas, Mid 3 of Guijarro, Gundogan and Bellingham. Putellas is a goal machine and her finesse shots seem almost unstoppable at times, but both Havertz (a SBC) and Schuller (70k on the market) also offer the same level of finishing because of their stats and playstyles. As with the midfield, Bellingham is unreal but the only major difference I notice between him and Guijarro is that her stamina is lower and means she needs to be subbed most games, their playstyles are also very similar. Having these kinds of players does make a difference, I can certainly feel the levels when I go and play with my Celtic P&P, but the margins are so minuscule between the very top level and the tier just below because of what Nep is saying. I 100% agree with what he was saying in this video.
Havertz is a similar example as to the one Nep gave with Bisseck, yes they aren't 96 rated or the best players IRL but people do and have realised just how good they are in game, which is why Bisseck hit 1.3 million on the market over the weekend and Havertz is arguably the most common card in the game at the moment Its less down to the stats because every player has insane stats now but it comes down to playstyles, body types and animations Yes, animations aren't noticed as much by lower skill level players but that doesn't stop the 6"5 behemoth of Bisseck blocking a shot with his leg swinging completely around your striker I agree with what Nep is saying generally but I also think it comes down to just how dogshit the gameplay is in this game overall
In regards to the conversation about the impact of the highest level cards on good vs bad players; With attackers I agree it doesn't make that much of a difference however, with defenders it will ALWAYS make a massive impact regardless whether you're good or bad And THAT is why this game continuously gets worse towards the end of the game cycle every single year (especially the last couple) As players get easier and easier access to CBs/LBs/RBs/DMs with 99 defensive awareness and close to 99 pace, the AI just does almost everything for them when they're not controlling them, so we end up in a situation where someone at the start of the year who was getting 11 wins each week can now fluke there way to wins against someone who got 19 wins consistently at the start of the year simply by not controlling their CBs With how AI defending, blocks and GKs are this year especially its even worse because you can genuinely spin someone's CB PERFECTLY, green time the shot with 99 finishing, 99 composure and shot power on a 5 star weak foot and the keeper will still have a decent chance of saving it, the defender coming from Narnia to block it or even something as fucking idiotic as a slow animation screwing you out of what should be a gaurenteed goal Imo, the gameplay this year is easily top 2 worst we've ever had and I can't see that changing until EA do an complete overhaul of how defensive AI works
Everything about this game is rng. Plain and simple. I went 18-2 in la liga tots and got red Jude. I then went 15-5 in seria a tots with a better team. Everything is luck. Down to the people you match, the server connections, everything

I might be in the minority, but I gave up on this video 12.57 mins in as all videos seem to be a moan or some kinder word i dunno. Still a fan of Nep and dont watch anyone else, but nearly every viedo goes off on tangent, you even forget what the video is about lol

Absolutely bang on. Best players only add a win at most. And I know I’m as good as I am and finish around the same every week. 11 wins is easy 14 wins I’ve had a good weekend league. Never hit 16 and pretty much never have less than 10 ever. But if I play loads I do improve as player with understanding the mechanics. And loads I mean over the years.
It’s an interesting conversation. I packed TOTS Haaland during prem tots and he genuinely made a difference to my finishes but that’s because I’m not very good at the game. It’s all down to the ability of the player imo. If a player can get 20-0 it’s because of them not necessarily the cards.
It’s an excuse. I picked Mbappe from an 82+ and he’s great, but it hasn’t made me reach the next threshold (11 to 14) because I have quick lapses in focus while defending and lose because of it.
To me it's a crazy take that Nep is out here saying good cards should be harder to get when all top cards are over 300k. It's easy to say such a thing when you sit around all day playing FIFA.
Key example is Werner : he has less animations but key playstyles. He moves the same now as he did 3 months ago … drogba has been nerfed , lewo is 96 shooting but Werner has more goals for my team then both of them combined.
They don't nerf players, what kind of conspiracy are these people on about. They barely care about the game, they're not gonna nerf an individual player.
I was struggling to get 9 Wins two weeks ago. Got a couple meta players into the team and have hit back to back 13 wins nothing else about my game has changed.
Of course, Werner is not good as he was a couple months ago but he's still OP. For example, yesterday in Champs, I was tackling him with Tah Tots who is way bigger, but it didn't matter. Werner just glitched through and he put Tah literally on his back, like, he was lying on the ground. It's ridiculous. Also, often, the so called meta players don't seem to make a difference. Most of the time, I struggle more against teams that don't have Mbappe, VVD etc. Usually, I'm like a 6 to 9 wins kinda guy but a couple day ago, I beat someone 1-0 who had Fekir Tots amongst a few other good red cards. Really weird.
Your story about the companion app just shows that EA give favourable pack weight to someone who isn't playing the actual game to try and get them too!!
Just am idea but ehat about an evo relates friendlies game mode where you would put a player into a "wildcard" evo where they recieve a completely random playstyle plus and you have to compete with them
Nep is right players at this point make a very small difference, same with formation, everyone playing 4321 , try a different formation it doesn't hurt as much as you think
Nep i have grinded the game as hard as i have ever done in the past 2 weeks and got NOTHING out of it . But i do feel this is really mostly me as i see some of the top cards of Liga Seiei A and League 1 i my opponents teams
Although it’s is easy to get cards it’s not the best cards which are far too hard to achieve. I grind the game as much as yourself if not more so I know the flaws as much as yourself. The problems we have are the gameplay inconsistencies and we don’t get rewarded enough for playing game. We have had more to do in gameplay but often get given 81x2 for each single objective which doesn’t cut it. So I think they’ve got a good balance on how to get a fairly decent team but not the balance of rewarding the player base for actually playing the game!
The game is RNG, have you not realised that after this many Fifa's? I haven't touched online and I've packed giroud, shaw, Leao, bonmati, firmino, stanway, thuram and bastoni
How can you say Watkins is a good pick? He's 54k, was 42k once, and you destroyed the card when it came out. A point is reached where everything can be said just for the sake...of saying something to fill it in.
In my opinion it’s worth and odd win here or there. It might depend on when you have the best team, for example, a full toty/toty icon team was a bigger gap to an affordable/sbc squad at that time imo whereas a full top tier tots team now isn’t quite as big a gap to an affordable/sbc tots team. Overall I do think it matters just not an awful lot, knowing the meta mechanically matters more. I’ve played WL twice with teams well below the power curve got 14-4/14-6 and I can’t even say if any of those Ls I put down to the team, mostly the other player was just had the mechanical meta down better than me. I was ahead in a couple of those though so maybe they’d have quit if I had a better team?
Keep sbc the same content wise just not as juiced and packs remove ridiculous packs and push more in depth evos. Or evos that can earn you coins/ objectives. Sticker book good
If high end cards mean literally nothing then why do we all have full tots teams, we may aswell run round with gold rare teams, and i think my 3 playstation plus cole palmer is alittle better than his silver
Lots of variables in play. Getting better matchups/days played can by itself vary you enough for +/- 3-4 wins. He by himself might make you ONE or so win better.
As a casual player I would get enjoyment if we were treated the same as elite level players for instance they get tots packs for so many wins I'm lucky if I get 10 wins on a good day all I see is the rich getting richer I love playing this game but it's people like me that spend money on coins or points to even get a good chance at getting the top meta players my 7 years of playing this game never have I ever had dinho r9 or mbappe half way through this game or not at all I got pele last 2 years ago when the game was dead and fifa 23 came out this year has been totally diffrent div 3 (played on and off) and rank 5 in champs nothing worth selling or packing to go into my squad I have evoed and made do with the players I was delt but even then when your playing sweats with god squads it gives them a hell of a better chance it puts me off as well as the current state of the game I feel whats the point in wasting my time anymore.

U said u can get 10 wins for me that's not a casual player that a very decent level of player There's no need for u to spend money points coins ect on the game for example you said u have never got dihno or r9 or Mbappe.... Mbappe has had a few sbcs this year and r9 and dinho both are in the sbc section right now If u mean u have never packed them am not suprised they are extremely hard to pack because they are very rare when they are in packs because of how expensive they are u could sit n open hundreds maybe even thousands of packs and never get one.... But what u have to factor in is the packs u get and dont get a massive card is what do u do with. Them do u put them in to let's say a r9 sbc or do u just go and do a random. Card u will never use Most people's problem is they say they have no good cards or fodder but when u ask them where do u put your cards and they say icon packs..... The. Biggest waste of time in history the chances of packing a monster icon even from a icon pack is very very slim The beat way imo to play the game is only do sbcs you actually want a bet right now u. Have a decent ammout of high rated cards that u either never use or barely use because of the what if factor when Realy u could just pop them in to dihno or r9 and help u get the card you want to play with 😊
Ea and it AI is for one thing to push pack and manipulate packs and player account. If you don’t buy pack you won’t get good card in player picks and sbc thst the future of ea and it Ai ea will be finished once the ea crack down on loot packs

Couldn’t disagree more with Neps argument about the top tier cards. This game is so, so much easier with cards like Mbappe, Ney, VVd, Ronaldo, Hamm. The difference is much bigger than he thinks.
I’m on the fence. So many variables for wins and losses on this unpredictable game. One day when they fix it, whenever they do we will all be happier but for now I have to try be happy with what we have. Which is pure rubbish lol
