It’s a little over a hundred days since Gauteng Provincial Police Commissioner, Tommy Mthombeni, took office. He says despite a rise in violent crime, police are winning the war. At least 51 officers have been arrested in the province since March. They face charges ranging from corruption to rape and murder. Our reporter Pule Letshwiti-Jones caught up with the commissioner on Thursday. #enca #dstv403

Convictions have nothing to do with police and very little to do with investigations. If the NPA feels the evidence is sufficient to go to trial then it’s off police hands. When the prosecutor says it’s enough and they fail then that failure rests on them, not saps.
