This is one of the best videos I've ever seen !!!. I sent it to myself via email so I won't forget these ideas when I move into my beautiful studio apartment next week. I lived in a mansion on 40 acres, but I am more excited about minimalistic living in my little 450 ft studio apartment than I was about that large home. I called it the house of pain. What good are material things without love ? Not one bit. People who marry for money obviously need to visit the Wizard of Oz for a heart and a brain. Now I am a happy minimalist and I love, love, love this video. Thank you, thank you thank you, as Gomer Pyle would say .🌸🌿
For spaciousness, eliminate furniture. Try a roll-up mat and sleeping bag. Try floor cushions. Use a handheld computer and learn to eat with a plate in your lap. Store stackable kitchenware in one cupboard. A bedroom set, dining room set, living room set, desk, shelves, etc. may not be needed.
For someone like me, who is concerned with money and space, these hacks are great. I live in a very large city, where apartments on average, no matter your budget, are small, so this video helped me tons!
Just what I was looking for! I don't have an apartment because I'm a kid, but this gave me a lot of ideas to make more space in my room since I'm sort of a hourder...😂
LOL agreed. Minimalism is always a good practice, it allows you to focus and the things that REALLY matter & it creates breathable clutter free living spaces.

Use a fork to whisk. 2. For convenience, add sliding trays to lower kitchen cupboards. 3. Rather than a dish drainer, dry dishes on a towel. 4. Try a handheld computer or clipboard and take your work anywhere. Eliminate an office. 5. Store items in pull-out baskets beneath furniture. Transport baskets anywhere. I like how the wheel is $250...and its suggested on this video for people with small apts...like..if i had money for that wheel..id probably have money for a latger place to live. Seriously unrealistic for the working class..
+Faith Ellis Even if I had the money I wouldn´t want to live in a big flat alone. Small flats are easy to clean, keep you from hoarding too much stuff, save money and you feel less lost in a cosy little room. Also buying a TV isn´t less expensive. If you really like it then you will save up for it
Charlie Cyanide Or find it cheaper..or make it ..or something. Im the queen of saving money on things that everyone else spent a ton of money for. If its too much...im gonna try to find a less expensive alternative or try to make it... Thats just me...and i live in a tiny apartment...and i LOVE it. 😏☺...it forces me to be creative.
Ugh, I do NOT recommend a pocketed shower curtain. In theory it sounds great, but I can imagine the reality will be more like pockets of water, mold and bacteria - yuck!
peggy chiarello I don't doubt it would help Peggy! Although I am fairly certain you will get a build of mold and bacteria if you don't wash it regularly because even a pocket with drainage struggles to fully dry. You see it on shower shelf units don't you? However, I think if you were to do that and keep it regularly washed you might be onto a winner - well done! Personally I would do away with the curtain if possible although I completely understand it isn't always possible with many lay outs. If you try it I would be interested to hear how it worked?
+lea perrins but the pockets are on the outside of the curtain, not the inside, right? still they are bound to accumulate dust and humidity from the steam from the shower... guess this would work for people who throw away things often
A lot of great ideas. Some were pretty spendy though, and when I think of someone in a small apartment (like myself) I also think they are on a budget.

if you have a small apartment and have enough money to buy some of these things that are a bit expensive then just keep the money and save for a bigger place
Yaya c You obviously never lived in a major city. Apartments in the downtown area cost more than huge homes in the suburb. Plus you don't did these things all at once. And some are diy projects.
My apartment was about 20x10 with a kitchen in which you could touch all walls at any time and a bathroom that was even smaller. the closet was standard with a 2 sliding doors. I'd love to see a full layout for something like that.
I like the idea of separating bedroom or kitchen by long curtains, desk, wood wall & slide doors. I love it It works for kids bedroom Too not just for a studio

I got folding ottoman bed! We used to keep it as footrest, but it kind of took space and our cat felt the need to scratch it. I organized my bedroom closet so, that it is resting in it until needed. Whenever people stay over, I have one floor bed to offer.
Can't agree more. Watching about turning 2 sofa to a bed, I don't think I would be doing that everyday just to make the room look nice unless I am a fancy RU-vidr who works at home.
Permsuk Amporncharat right. I have a futon for that very reason...and i dont think its been a couch for over 6 months...sqrew doing all that everyday haha
AMAZING! Me and my bf have a very tiny apartment and it's our first time being out on our own. TBH I have no idea how to decorate a whole apartment on my own, never mind storage! Your videos are awesome thanks for creating them and sharing ideas!
Honestly, there are some good ideas in there, such as curtains or cupboards to divide the room (I recommend those typicall square shelfs from Ikea everybody seems to have at home, you know; you can access them from both sides and eliminate any kind of night stand with that; also books are free to grab from the bed :D). But some are just not practical or waaaay too expensive. I mean if I have the money for some stupid as $200 wheels I probably wouldn't be living in a one room apartment. Personal tip btw (only works if you don't have a ton of clothing): try to opt for a apartment with a cupboards built into the entrance or double use the entrance space as your wardrobe ;) Mirrors are at hand for sure. Works wonders for me, as my bathroom is directly beside the entrance space. Just hop out of the shower and grab what you need :D Also kitchen tables can be used as more counter space. Camping shops are a good place to look for smart solutions designed for small places that are cheap! Like dish space, all kinds of hooks, and different organizing tools!
My first apartment was a studio and was 12 x 13 feet with a tiny kitchenette where you had to open the oven door from the side because the wall was in the way.
Wow I loved this. I learned something very helpful... The laundry pod. We are having troubles finding a place with washer and dryer included. The laundry pod will resolve that for us (I see now that there are small electric dryers too... Or we can hang everything). Just that too made me subscribe!
44. Turn your painting sideways so that it's a vertical item & replace the painting with a mirror. Place very thin chocks at the top on the back before mounting so that up close you can see your face & upper body easily but when standing back, you can see your entire body. Mount it opposite the doorway if possible so that you can step backwards into the doorway for a better view - playing with the chocks & your available standing space sorts this out. I've done this & it works a charm - the play angle is very small but makes quite a difference.

Saw Ree Drummond's (Pioneer Woman) daughter's bedroom that was decorated by Country Living Magazine I believe. Huge home nothing like my daughter's 700 sq ft apartment that would never be aloud to put holes in the walls let along the ceiling
#2 is very wrong, you need space to work with the laptop correctly, you should always have the wrists and the forearm resting on the surface and a shelf hasn't that kind of space.
me I and my mother pondered about a slide out pantry since we have a veeeeery small kitchen and measured a 20cm free space when we would install a new kitchen so we decided to get apocethary shelves since they are similar to the shown idea, really nice idea tho with the colored background :)
a lot of these ideas are for loft apartments, that have one big room, but what if you have some small rooms instead? a couch won't fit in fron of the bed if its a small room...
half of these requite major drilling into the wall, which most apartments i've talked to would never allow. its cute in theory. but that's all it is, theory.
sadly, BECUASE I live in an apt, I can't do most of these, but love the ideas like #24 slide spice racks, or #30 the couch armrack!! but thank you for the video and the effort
