This video has said nothing extra what was already described by dozen of youtubers . I would expect some practical more of your own opinion at the time of a wedding.
How's the autofocus on the XT5 stack up against the XH2 and XH2S? Have you tried video autofocus on the XT5? I love the ergonomics and familiarity of the XT line. I watched your video on the XH2S and the odd choices like not being able to map ISO to a dial turns me off (as well as the larger price point). However, good autofocus is very much appreciated. I wonder if there's much of a difference.
Re the spec difference to the XH2 and 8k video, I'm not sure if anyone got an official answer from Fujifilm, but the 2 really common answers reviewers gave were 1. Fuji didn't want to compete too much against the XH2 at the lower price point... maybe. I don't think it would have made much difference to XH2 sales. 2. In committing to keeping the XT line small, and making it smaller than the XT4, there would be overheating issues at 8k in this form factor. That seems plausible to me. I went for the XH2 when I heard that there would be no battery grip for the xt5. I think that was a mistake on Fuji's part. It adds more versatility for intense all day shooting and comfort with large lenses and still able to go small when you don't need that. Maybe the XT-6 will get 8k, battery grip etc :)
Excuse me, your x-t5 camera, after the cover of the sd card is closed, is there any problem with the tightness? When you press the outer cover of the sd card, the outer cover will be elastic, a little not tight, and there is a tolerance. Do you have it? what about this situation? thanks
I i saw you on another video asking the same question and I find the sd card cover to be pretty plastic-y. When I hold the camera I can feel it flex when I grip it. Does that answer your question? I find all the covers to be of a lesser quality than the previous version.
Thanks for this video. I just got my hands on an XT5 and it looks great with the retro design and dials. That being said, I managed to get a feel of the XH2 in the store and it felt much more comfortable and better to grip - more natural in my hands. I’m new to Fuji and photography so I don’t know if dials or PASM will be better for me as as a beginner to learning photography. I do understand why still focused shooters would prefer the tilt screen, but I also feel that the articulating screen is more versatile and being able to rotate it inwards to protect the screen when not in use is a bonus. I’m planning to do landscape, portrait, architecture and RU-vid. If you have the chance to trade the XT5 for the XH2 without topping up any cash, would you do it? (Someone I’m talking to is looking to trade his XH2 for XT5)
All great observations! X-H2 certainly feels great in the hands thanks to the thicker size. I think if you’re just learning the single dial will be great. The ISO controls on the X-H2 are still annoying and unnecessary though. I bought the X-H2 the week before this and it was already on sale so it was CHEAPER than an X-T5 in Australia. I think it still might be. When that happens I think it represents far better value than the X-T5.
I really hoped this would have the stacked sensor. 40MP adds nothing for me. The X-T5 has been relegated to a mid-tier camera for Fuji and it’s shows in the lack of battery grip and inferior EVF.
Hey Tobias, enjoyed your video(s). 1st time watcher, and just subscribed. Appreciate all your detail in the review. I am a Nikon Z shooter, primarily Landscapes, followed by Wildlife. I still have my D500 that i used for Wildlife since Nikon hasn't really come out with a Mirrorless equivalent (and I don't want to get the Z9). I started watching Fuji a while back and when they came out with these new models, I was hooked. So, I am looking to add Fuji to my systems, and was looking for an all around shooting camera that was fun, but yet can be used on a tripod for landscape. If the X-H2 had the tilty screen instead of the articulating, it would be a no brainer. I rented both and shot with them. Lol, I still can't decide. If I needed the aspect of shooting on a Tripod, but also wanted to use it for WIldlife, would you choose the X-T5? Interesting to hear your answer/options. Thanks again! Great video
