That’s a good comment! Good! Another way to cheekily insult these guys! It’s funny. You’re funny! I mean it. I’m not being sarcastic, although I can see you’re one who would detect sarcasm. Good stuff. Not great. But good.
@@MunkeyBeans1082 yeah, no. I included him because I have been excited for him to be joining Slipknot for a while now and he effin slays. but you had to just hate a little because you're having a bad mood. stop being a dick for no f reason.
@@MunkeyBeans1082Slipknot has a drummer problem since Joey left. So it’s not that weird, they finally got a drummer known for being a beast on stage and has a lot of knowledge of his instrument. I’m really excited to see if they can produce at least 1 album with Eloy there so we can truly see his potential writing for such a mainstream metal band
Curiously, Eloy gave an interview to a Brazilian newspaper in which he said he broke 15 drumsticks during this first show because he played harder than usual due to being anxious about the debut 😂
he played that section too fast so when the breakdown section hit, the first half measure was spent slowing it back down to match the track. makes for a sloppy transition.
Imagine going there thinking it will be a normal Slipknot concert, and you get hit in the face with the old jumpsuits, Corey's old mask and ELOY CASAGRANDE on the drums. If I was in the crowd I would've fainted at least several times
And thank god he’s learned to respect his own body and limits, maybe it’s being a dad or something but he’s definitely more in control of his ranges now and knows how to still scream without destroying his vocal cords for the night.
@@RicoLee27 his voice sounds monstrous. plus mick is in excellent shape, jim grew his hair out and seems to have a ton of energy. it’s an exciting time to be a fan
@@blvckdxvthI'm still having a hard time realizing that's Mick... He doesn't have that menacing stature anymore but I'm definitely glad that he's in better shape and health than he was previously.
@@blvckdxvthhe definitely moves around a hell of a lot better with his back issues since losing that weight. Did you notice how Jim didn't skip a bear when tossed his pick to the crowd and grabbed another one after the intro of the song. It was flawless. I swear Jim doesn't get the credit he deserves as a guitarist
As a sound engineer, I am absolutely loving how they are sounding on a smaller stage than usual. And Eloy is bringing me back a little hope, something I always thought has been lost since Joey departed. It's just amazing to see them rock out in a smaller venue, where you can literally hear that they are still a great live band, not reliant on studio production, and can keep in league with the heaviest of them out there. I like that they seem to be embracing their own legacy now, and going back to revisiting their earlier sound that everyone loves, the sound that made them. This could be the beginning of the golden era of their resurgence as all time classic acts!
Small stage sound is so damn good. I think half the difference is the slower tempo too. I’ve been doing a lot of comparisons of Jay vs Eloy live footage and they play the songs soooo damn fast with Jay. I’m amazed Corey could could keep up. You can tell he has a lot more time to actually do his thing without blasting through every passage like it’s almost dinner time.
@@thomaswilliam2808Jay got fired for that reason. He can’t keep time for fucking shit. It was so bad he was literally back tracking his kicks because he couldn’t stop rushing the beat. You can see just how bad he is when you watch his studio performances of the slipknot songs. He’s constantly checking around to make sure he’s in time, he’s always pushing right against the tempo or going past it and he’s so much more focused on playing fast kick runs than playing something that works with nu metal. Jay was just a spoiled rich kid who got lucky.
I think he always could, he was just afraid of blowing out and damaging his voice again like he did after the Vol 3 tour. Maybe he's learned a new technique that allows him to do the hoarse Iowa scream again but put less strain on his vocal chords.
If I am not wrong because Corey performed this song with the right Tempo... With a Great Drummer!!🎉 Not to fast.. not to Loud.. just Rockinn Hard and Percise👌
Fyi's...they would not have played this in 1999, I remember them being far crazier, and they played the second stage of Ozzfest in 1999. In 2000 they were headlining Tattoo The Earth. Otherwise, it does Sound great! I think its cool for younger Fans!
@@ericderami Saw them at the now defunct Boathose in Norfolk, VA, it was indeed way crazier than this. Really lost interest over the years but would have loved to see them in this environment. Fuck arenas.
Corey pointing to Eloy to start the song but the guy have huge balls and in his first show with band he just thought "fuck no! I'll start when the intro is over". Like it should!
- Corey screaming like old times ✅️ - Hallucinated clown enjoying this moment ✅️ - A perfect drummer who does everything like Joey Jordison ✅️✅️✅️✅️✅️ OK. We go back to 1999/2000 Thank you slipknot for choosing correctly. Eloy ❤️
i’ve gotta see eloy grow. i can’t let myself get excited for hammer blasts and click tracks in slipknot, but i can’t say i’m super disappointed in the tempo being more consistent. i just hope eloy grows to fill the role more without sanitizing the sound.
I mean.... he's playing old songs? Not sure how you can say he's the best thing to happen. Let him get a few albums under him with the band first instead of instantly riding the meat.
@@Whyamihere88 He is playing old songs better than the original drummer ever did live. Joey wrote killer parts, but always rushed them live. Jay was never the right choice. I'm glad they finally got a full spectrum metal drummer.
the same jay who can't handle 20 seconds of fast paced beats and never plays at the right rhythm and tempo of the song? eloy best in the world Mfcker 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷!!!!! @@blvckdxvth
@Destructionater popular opinion was to hate TESF but it was decent, strongest screams on a slipknot album since 2001. easier to enjoy when you don't have a fanbase in your ear telling you it's bad lol
@@onlyfriendyeah Yea the album was full of good songs and importantly screams! very sad that it wasn't received well by the "fanbase" since they wanted to experiment and change=bad
@@ShutUpCleanYourMonitor They're essentially a pantomime act at this point, but you're right : I've been to enough festivals to know that in the main they are awful. Still, I would have rather seen Slipknot while standing in a foot of mud, than watch them performing like part time Taylor Swift dancers cosplaying as the 9. But that's just me. And I'm not Brazilian, so I don't have to do that weird thing Brazilians do and lie to myself to convince the world that one of us is the best in the world at something at which others are better.
@@panelvanhalen9717 Yeah, I know. I was replying to the guy who said it was too slow. It's slower, sure but just barely to make any significant difference.
I first saw Eloy Casagrande at Paiste Day when he was 14. He came in and tore the fucking roof off. This band needs an inhuman drummer and Eloy is that guy. The strength, speed and pocket has now returned to this band.
Eloy playing so tight is giving space for the guitars and Corey to shine in the tightest moments at the end of each bar - the whole band sounds sooo much better because of him And fuck he is good at slowing the groove down right when you want it - still while keeping tempo Perfect choice, can't wait to see them live
At first sight, I honestly thought this was a tribute band especially with the stage. I'm blown away man, but truly the best part of this video to me is the quality of Corey's voice and the dreads.. this is the Slipknot I remember. And Jim's fucking hair is sick.
This was near perfect. Eloy is an absolute F'N BEAST & Corey!? He's sounding really crisp & on point, this is live too!! Also props to the crowd, they were throwing down too!
Everything sounds so f*cking good! Right tempo, no stressed blast beats, Corey get's time to breathe to really bring the screams home, Haven't been this happy since Download 09'!
Seeing Corey like this again, enjoying and jumping is incredible, ladies and gentlemen before you the great Brazilian Eloy Casagrande!!! By the way, thanks Ross for sharing this great video!
Fucking hell Eloy's kit sounds so much better in terms of tuning compared to Jay's SJC kit... makes a world of difference in terms of attack. Could only imagine what could have been
Can someone shed some light on how this gig came about? Slipnkot headline the biggest festivals in the world, yet these lucky people basically got a back yard show and to top it all off, they actually sound like Slipknot for the first time in 15 years
ive seen every tour to australia since this this song was released, and this by far is the tightest, heaviest ive heard this song live!! even over disasterpieces!
tortilla man got the nice false chord scream but he needs to do it more loudly, if he got higher screams we would be able to hear him more, its great nonetheless
God damn this so good Eloy is so fucking on point tbh it’s got me excited about this whole nu metal rejuvenation. We have nu metalcore but the nu metal era of bands continues and it’s really beautiful and exciting and here we are 2024 and slipknot sound fucking fresh as if it was Iowa self titled about to be released upon the world it just sounds so crisp. Eloy joining is like just the engine being refurbished it’s given the band a new lease. Absolutely amazing
i am only 14...when i started to love metal and all kinds of music...slipknot was the band that i found for myself...and i have loved them ever since...even though recently i have kind of lost intrest in them because of what happend with jay and stuff...they have been really weird recently...but this is a good reminder of why i love them so much
- Do you want something heavier?? - DO YOU WANT SOMETHING HEAVIER????? - Then my friends, I give you.... Eeeeeeeeeelooooooooooy!!! (If you know, you know lol)
