The pick up sticks on the cover remind me of my extremely exciting childhood consisting of reading and playing sticks by myself. Oh, the good ol' days right people.
LOL! Ann Margaret, Roy Scheider and Clarence Williams III side B actors? Hardly. You just didn't know who they were but they were all well known. Scheider starred in the Jaws movies for Pete's sake.
52 Card Pickup is a joke game where you throw a deck of cards on the ground and pick them back up. At the end of the book Mitchell tries to give them 52K dollars at a dropoff.
The movie is pretty good. It stars Roy Scheider, a great actor (The French Connection and the Seven-ups), Ann Margret and Clarence Williams III (from The Mod Squad TV show).
