Thanks Dan! If im Dr Nomad Your Dr Tri5. That 57 ragtop turned out pretty freaking sweet and I'm sure that old Chevy is glad to having you working on it! Catch you next time 👍
Thanks Joe! I really enjoy talking about the older cars and I always try to educate the younger generation so these old cars can live in forever. Thanks for watching the video my friend 👍
Thanks Zakk Gardner! Dan's a cool guy I'm really enjoying what hes doing with the Nomad and I'm happy to help! Thanks for the sub man I really appreciate that! Later ✌
Thanks Buddy! I try and educate people about the old cars so the hobby and cars will live on into the future! Im sure it was boring to most of us but the Tri5 Nomads are not like any other wagon and should be Talked about! Not many cars have had a car club for so long! Have a good one👍
Hey Don that was some great info on the nomad. The 57s coming along good Working get in the way for dam sure lol. Thanks for the shout out brother much appreciated. I just got my stickers today from Mike to he's a cool guy. It was Nice to see the man behind the camera lol Take it easy brother👍👍👍
Thanks Buddy! And hell yeah work always getting in the way of cool stuff! No worries on the shout out you deserve all the credit for the cool work your doing to that 55 Gasser. I wasn't sure about being on camera its a process lol buts your a pro at being on camera! Have a good one Buddy 👍
As a kid walking to school everyday I walked by a Noman and remember thinking it was so cool and it never moved and no one knew who owned it , until one day it was gone. This was in the early 60s My uncle taught me how to name every car on the road ,year make and model . He had a Black 57 chevy, Tan 64 impala 409 and a blue 58 chevy convertible which I rode in daily. I would love to have any car in this video, nice !
Hey Good Boy Ringo! Real cool name man! That's pretty cool you still remember that old nomad, what year and color was it? Naming old cars driving down the road was very fun back then! Sounds like your uncle had some sweet rides! Have a good one Buddy 👍
@@donshotrodgarage1717 .... Same as yours 1955 , I remember it so well because I wanted to have it . I ask some home around it they owned it with no luck but didn't continue looking because I had no money , ggg. This car has really cool features that stand out and make you love it. You are a really luck guy to own the cars you have. Thanks for the positive response .
@@donshotrodgarage1717 .... My name is from my Black German Shepherd dog that has passed on in life. His registered AKC name was Good Bog Ringo, I called him Ringo. He wouldn't let a bird land on his 2 acres. I refuse to have another dog in respect of his memory.
The Nomads are just beautiful to me but WAY out of my price range 😝 always love them though! Best to you man, always look forward to your videos and to getting my own Trii 5 project someday!
Thanks Buddy! I know what you mean I have a small fortune in the cars I have. If you have or your planning on buying a Tri 5 just keep positive the perfect car at the perfect price is out there just waiting for you to pick it up. That's what I've found in the past. Patience is the key to do many things in life! Catch you next time 👍
Thanks Chris! I try to do videos that not only create interest in the car hobby but also educate people on what's a specific tri5 and how to know the difference! Thanks for watching the video! Catch you next time Buddy 👍🇺🇸
Thanks Glenn! In my opinion the 56 nomad looks the best with the side stainless and Nomad roof line. All love all 3 years of the tri5 Nomad. There are very unique cars. Have a good one Buddy 👍
You got it Robbie! I plan om doing a few other videos to cover the specific Nomad only parts to help people with their projects in the future. Have a good one I'll talk to you later!✌
Thanks man and I too have always loved the nomad! Heck I've love any tri5 sinve i was old enough to see! Ive been watching all BWs videos trying to get up to current. Catch you next time 👍
Thanks Daniel! Your 56 Chevy sounds like a great old car. It's hard to find tgem with the original engine after so many years. Talk to you later buddy!👍
Thanks for the info. I owned a 57 rag thirty three years ago when I was 24 years old. I was a lucky guy to own and find one. But always liked the nomad. They say they rarer than rags because of low numbers sold. Tell us all the numbers built in a video. Go to Mortskie channel . His last video. Nomad in a field. And another one I just seen. In a field. I'll find it for you. It shocked me to see them in a field. But they both had slanted b pillars. OK Man good luck. Great collection. I'll send you a few tri five channels builds I follow. Have a good day man.
Thanks man! And yeah you was lucky to own a 57 ragtop and at 24 years old, man I wish! I'll check out Mortskie channel sounds cool. Also I'll do the production numbers on the Tri5 Nomads in the next couple videos. Thanks for checking out the video!
Thanks man and I'm so glad you found the Channel! I post videos some times and I think is this what they really want to see! That is cool when I hear someone likes my cars my videos and my little world! Catch you next time 👍
Just subscribed. Good video. I like the Nomad style but always thought that the tailgate was style over function due to that forward slant. It cuts the cubic ft. That might have stopped me buying it back in the day but now I'd want it for it's cool design.
Hey Dan! Thanks for the sub, I really apprieciate that! The nomad is a very cool style and design but had problems with water leaking into the back when new and was hard to access the back seat area. They was certainly more about style then function! Plus they cost more the a Belair convertible when new! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Man I searched for a video like this for the last year! Thanks for making it. Having a hard time finding parts for my 56 Nomad. Where can I send you pics?
Excellent video Don . We both enjoyed it . Funny thing , earlier in the evening I got a call from a friend . Their big into 5 6 7 's , but ' 56 seems to be the ones they like best . The Dad does have a Nomad he's owned for over 30 years . Later this evening the one that called should stop by with a red and silver Bel Air Sport Sedan ( 4 door hardtop ) . We have known the car since since I was a teenager , and they've had it at least 25 years .
Thanks so much and I'm glad you both enjoyed the video 👍 That's awesome to own a Nomad for 30 years wow! And yeah the 56 chevy is my second most favorite tri five and the sports sedan is a real beauty. I'm sure you know that 56 was the first year Chevy offered the sport sedan and man they knocked it out of the park! Seems like you live in a area where things stay around for a long time I would love that. Catch you both next time 👍
Hey J Mom! That's awesome your first car was a 56 Nomad! Im sure the dump truck did some damage to that car. What color was your 56 nomad? Talk to you later ✌
Don, wow there is a ton of things to know about the Nomad, you pointed out at least 3 things i did not know ribs on the roof, in and out and the door, yes i bet you have been on more than one look at a false Nomad, the 57 is going to be so awesome to watch come together, oh and nice to meet you in person, lol, glad you got the sticker, thank you for the shout out, my friend
Yeah Buddy I'll still look at any Chevy but I've been on the chase of many Nomads that turned out to not be Nomads! I was nurveous about being on camera and still not sure about it but I'll keep getting better! No problem on the shout out any time my friend! Have a good one Buddy 👍
@@donshotrodgarage1717 Hey Don, i was going to ask you about the eyebrow chrome is that Nomad only, and your a natural on camera, and i think the viewers enjoyed it
Why do people say "chrome" around the windows? It's NOT chrome! It's polished stainless. The only window that has chrome around a Nomad is the tailgate window. I use to have a 55 Nomad gasser with a 1964 straight front axle out of a Ford van with a 283,4 speed, and a 4:11. I didn't have power steering, so you can imagine I was probably sweating it out like a Billy goat in a pepper patch hoping I never got a front blowout. My Nomad was flat black in color, and even had the eyebrows that came with the car. I bought it around 1973 from a guy that needed the money to buy pot. Honest Story! In Jacksonville Florida for 500 bucks. Sold it in Vacaville, California around 1978 for 1,000 bucks. And I'm still kicking myself to this day, and for the rest of my life for selling it. I Loved that Nomad more then the 2 past wives "combined" That I divorced.
Hey Steven! I guess chrome is a easy way of saying Stainless steel trim. Lol Love the story of your 55 Nomad. That's one of the things I like the most about old cars is the stories! $500 is cheap for a 55 Nomad at any time in life man them were the days. Sounds like that Nomad was a mean machine with the straight axle and 283 4 speed 411 gears. I bet it really jumped off the line. Thanks for the comment man I'll talk to you later buddy! ✌
Hey man, it's amazing how many lives you can touch with a simple RU-vid channel!! You do great work, always amazes me when I see a rust bomb turn into a real show piece! BW's Garage is really a nice guy! His channel reminds me of something you'd see on TV just the way he presents himself. Another one is Lovett's Speed Shop, from Kentucky. Haven't seen much action lately, but he's converted a 55 Chevy 4Door to a 2door and you'd never know it. Check him out! Take care, stay safe & healthy & all that mushy stuff! LOL!!
Thanks Paul! BWs channel does remind me of something you would see on tv also, Great point! He does some killer welding and fab work. His 55 gasser is going to be mean on the streets. I check out Lovetts Speed Shop that is one I havent seen and can't wait to watch. Thanks for being one of my guys on this channel thats a really cool thing man! I know I'll always get a comment from you man! Have a good one and be safe till next time👍
@@donshotrodgarage1717 Right on! I like your work, so clean! Going to show room quality. Looks like you got the convertible top finished.? See ya next video! ✌😎
Thanks Buddy! The other channel is BWs Garage he has a really badass 55 gasser he's building. I just recently found his channel and have been watching the video's of the build! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Thanks Ryan that's cool man! They never produced the Chevy corvette Nomad! That was a concept car designed for the 1954 Auto show at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. The idea was scrapped last minute for the production of the nomad wagon on 1955 passenger cars. Rumor has it that there was 2 concept cars built on the corvette body and after the auto show they was sent to be crushed. They have never been seen again unfortunately. Have a good one man ✌
That's cool Ryan! The magnum will be a collector car at some point is life. There very slick cars and had a huge following when they was new. Take cars of it you got a cool car man! Later Buddy 👍
Hey Mitch! It's possible but I would strongly recommend keeping it a 56 Chevy Nomad! The problem with changing it to a 55 is not only the cost of parts and labor but the car will always be a 56 Nomad! But man its your car so if you want to make it a 55 go for it. You'll need 55 nomad quarters a full front nose and front and rear bumper plus tail lights! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Hey Phillip! Yeah man there is a big difference between a wagon and a Chevy Tri5 Nomad! None of the glass on a Nomad will work on a regular wagon! There was more different than most people think! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Hey I just checked out your video. You have some awesome cars man. Bryan from BW GARAGE sent me over to check it out . Love what your doing so I definitely subscribed. Stay safe and look forward to upcoming videos. 👍😎✌️
Thanks Buddy! Glad you like the channel and the cars. I love to work on them and find the parts and pieces they need! Happy to have you on board the channel! Catch you next time 👍
Yeah man Bad Chad is on a whole different level! That guy is one of the best creative minds I have ever seen at customizing a old car! I watched him make a old tanker truck out of a sedan it was unreal! Catch you next time 👍
