When Dad wants to get close to his newborn colt, Mom delivers a few kicks to prevent him from doing so, but it’s all for nothing because Dad is actually in another enclosure and can’t get anywhere close to the colt. This mom is protecting her newborn foal lying on the ground. The second another horse gets too close; she immediately confronts the horse and lets him know he isn’t welcome. The horse insists as if he wants to hurt the foal, but Mom will not let him. When a few more horses approach, one of which is particularly aggressive, mom must double up and even kick out at the assailants, while the tiny foal tries to stand up on his own, even though he barely can.
