03 - parrying only refills your health up to the hard damage limit. 15 - saying that rockets are functionally identical to cores is an overstatement, because although they do share some functionality, rockets interact differently with revolver and railcannon shots, rockets turn blue when frozen, making them more powerful, and rockets can be ridden on. 19-21 - it is worth mentioning that none of these names are technically official, they are just the most widely accepted names in the community. 22 - chargebacks apply to any enemy that fires a hitscan beam, which also includes V2, Guttermen, flesh prison’s eyeballs and malicious face minions, and flesh panopticon’s malicious face minions. 31 - if you are standing too close to an enemy that is being electrified underwater, the electricity will also chain from those enemies to the player, despite having already dashed once to dodge the railcannon’s initial self-damage.(this is also what happens in the video.) 32 - this instant charge also applies to the jumpstart variant as well. 37 - they do not have to be falling, they only have to be in midair. 38 - if you are standing close enough to the cannonball when it hits an enemy and bounces off, grappling is not required and the ball can be punched directly. 40 - if you are standing too far away from the virtue as the explosion goes off, they will take reduced damage, and the virtue will not be instakilled. 46 - doing this will also deal all of the screwdrivers remaining damage at once.
Thanks for the clarifications!! a few of these like the heslth, rockets, and chargebacks were simplified for the sake of brevity but if I ever make a part 2 I'll add these as an addendum :)
I expected this to be more advanced so it doesnt work for me, but this may be the best video for someone starting the game or someone that isnt very creative with weapons
Amazing video !!! for 5:19 you can completely avoid lightning damage, as you said you dash right before you shoot, then there is another instance where lightning can hit you (to my knowledge I never had more than 2 damage instances), but you can dash and avoid the damage if you time it right. It's very useful in 5-1 in the big room with the 3 blue skull pedestals (and most of the level actually) you can basically one shot everything and still be max health.
Some other tips: 1. Splattering enemies with a slam heals you to the hard damage limit. 2. Splattering enemies with a direct knuckleblaster punch also heals the hard damage limit. 3. Using firestarter's gasoline, you can perform a dash jump with a height of a normal jump, and it costs you only 1 stamina. 4. S.R.S. cannon is easiest to use when you fire at the aforementioned enemies at point-blank range and immediately punch afterwards.
A cool tech thingy with the blue jackhammer is that a single primary fire hit can hit both an enemy and a core; so when a core is released during the primary fire’s hitstop, you can hit an enemy with the primary fire AND the jackhammer core launch’s beam. The recoil from the primary fire blast also will hit you out of range to avoid the explosion damage too
really good and useful video, almost zero useless things. as a speedrunner, i've already knew all of that, but for newcomers the video is really great i think !! (cant wait until part two with funny things like ssj, funny deadcoin things etc etc)
Something to add about electricity: coins also conduct, meaning you can toss them immediately after something like a railcannon shot for some extra damage provided the enemy has a magnet or enough nails in them
Cool vid, im impressed with the accuracy of all the information mentioned here, maybe worth pointing out that the rocket nuke does not deal thr same damage as a core nuke but thats about it.
You can make your rockets faster by grabning them with the whiplash and holding the button to push them further. It's a good way to get some extra damage on an enemy you're grappling towards
Really good tips, but here is another tips: it's possible to instakill mindflayers, but is a little bit hard i have to admit And, It is possible to ride the rockets of the rocket launcher in the air
Jumpstart is kinda most underrated thing I do not see it often But yet This is op 5-1, aka water level, is most bloody proof of that I instakilled whole first battle encounter by jumpstart, nails, magnets, and coins Tbh i do not remember how i did it, but yet Jesus christ The moment i tested this particular red version I knew that it was totally op
