The Deltic Preservation Group's Class 55 'Deltic' 55009 'Alycidon' returned to mainline action on Saturday 29th July 2023, hauling Pathfinder Railtours 'The Capital Deltic Reprise' charter.
An early start from Willington, Derbyshire saw the racehorse stretching its legs on a round trip, taking in the big city lights of London and the seaside town of Cleethorpes, before returning to Derbyshire. The only exception being West Coast Railways Class 47 47826 leading out of Cleethorpes on the short run Ulceby for a reversal.
